Cottage Living Magazine named Lake Oswego's Historic First Addition neighborhood as one of the best cottage communities in the country. The national magazine
'gushed' over the quaint homes, the easy walking distance to downtown Lake Oswego; and the 'jewel-box gardens winking from behind picket fences'. In addition, the city of Lake Oswego ranks in the Top (100) Safest Cities in the USA!
Everything about this wonderful sanctuary is a treat from the moment you open the gate and view the cottage, as you walk through the spaces and then open the back door and see the amazing "zen" garden and outdoor dining area. The design of the interior and exterior is tasteful and functional providing a comfortable space to relax both indoors and outdoors. The Owner is a wonderful and considerate host available if you need something but also sensitive to providing the privacy that guests enjoy. The location is so central to everything that you might want while being located in a very quiet residential neighborhood. The owner makes driveway space available for parking, which is an added bonus since there is very little street parking in the neighborhood. We stayed four days and then enjoyed it so much we returned for another four days after a week at the beach. This is truly a 5 Star accommodation that priced is very reasonably priced.
My wife and I recently stayed at the Garden Cottage in Lake Oswego and were extremely happy with our choice. We were greeted upon our arrival by Suzi, the owner, who showed us all the cottage had to offer. The amenities of the cottage are very nice and upscale. The location is a few blocks away from the main road in Lake Oswego and less than a mile to many of the shops and restaurants. We used Uber car service for the first time during our stay for both nights and had them take us to the restaurants in town. Turned out to be great service and only cost around $5.00 each way from the cottage to the main shopping/restaurant area. This cottage is extremely nice and peaceful and we highly recommend it to anyone. The owner recommended 'Five Spice Restaurant and Wine Bar' to us and we were extremely happy with that choice. Great food, wine, and atmosphere for a great evening.
I was there for two full weeks for an academic practicum. A friend and fellow student was there for about half the time. We loved our tiny cottage and loved the trails in the park nearby--both welcome reprieves after long days of class time.
Wow! My husband and I recently attended a conference in the area and chose to stray from the rest and get a VRBO instead of a hotel. This amazing little cottage was everything that we could have asked for. We came 'home' every evening to this warm and inviting private little oasis. Suzi made everything so easy for us and the amenities were perfect. It's pure luxury in a small package. She even had a set teal colored Bling dominos by the bedside which was a fun treat to go along with all of the other personal touches. The neighborhood felt so good and each evening visit to town was great. Check out the Lake Theatre and Cafe for a fun movie venture, with gourmet food and beer or wine. By far the best vrbo that we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in a few! Oh and we slept like babies in that bed. Well rested and pampered. The pure act of staying here turned our work trip into a mini vacation. After 5 nights we still weren't ready to go home. We'll be back.
I hate to put a review online because this perfect little cottage will be flooded with guests leaving no future dates for me! It is perfect in every detail. Spotless. High quality fixtures and furniture. Everything was thought of - cozy robes, umbrella, hair straightener, throw blanket, ever kitchen item one would need, and nothing felt cramped or crowded. High cielings, tons of light, beautiful back garden, I could go on and on. I was in town for work and am tired of hotels. This rental is just wonderful. Everything feels new and a professional must have decorated it.
My wife and I recently spent ten days at this adorable Lake Oswego location. The pictures do not do this property any justice. I was totally amazed at the amount of decorating and personal care that is evident here. Suzi was very nice to work with and very informative if you have any questions. My wife and I like to travel and we use VRBO rentals wherever we go. This was by far the nicest rental we have ever stayed at. It had everything we needed and more. The his and her robes just added a nice homey touch for us. I highly recommend this for two people to get away for a Northwest adventure or a romantic getaway to this area.
