Princeville Condo Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedroom 2 Bath: Quiet tropical garden setting Balinese Decor: Hardwood&Granite

This incredible patio home in Mauna Kai captures the true North Shore Feeling. A full luxury remodel has made this the most beautiful condo I have ever seen. Hardwood, granite, and quality furnishings throughout.

A short hike down the Queen's path takes you to peaceful Anini Beach and the blue Pacific where you can safely swim or snorkel with the whole family. Calm waters and a rich underwater life make Anini beach one of the best swimming spots on Kauai. This peaceful stretch of beach is protected by the largest coral reef in Hawaii, so instead of foamy waves breaking up on the sand, you can expect a lake like atmosphere. The protective reef creates a beautiful blue lagoon, unsuited for surfing or body-boarding, but perfect for swimming. Many other close beaches provide world class scenery, surfing, boggy boarding fun and snorkeling.

Mauna Kai is located between the Prince Golf Course and the Makai Course. This location will provide you with the finest tropical golf in the world, or for some it may just be a beautiful walk and great albatross and whale watching. Morning and sunset views from the golf course and the Westin are fantastic. Mauna Kai's tropical breezes and warm waters can be your next dream vacation. Top off the day with a relaxing dip in your private hot tub at this Mauna Kai patio home.

Our beautiful Mauna Kai home is in a lush garden setting at the end of a quiet walkway. It's a garden level unit with four walk out patios. An incredibly remodeled and custom decorated 1500 square feet with two bedrooms allow plenty of room to relax. Some two bedroom two bath condos are only 1000 sq ft, this is really spacious, even a pack & play for the baby. It has new living room sofa and side chairs that add to the home like feeling, it isn't your typical bare bones condo designed to be indestructible.

The last owner described the remodel process as a labor of love. He spared no expense in importing the highest quality materials from Bali and the far east. The quality of this Asian decor is usually reserved for private custom homes. A private hot tub off the living room and master bedroom will make the end of your day in paradise complete. The full size Maytag washer/dryer make it your home away from home. We look forward to staying there several times a year and make it feel like home, completely livable and unique.

Tile floors throughout the main floor give it that clean cool feel. The main living area, on the ground floor, stays cooler than units with second or third story living areas. There is no AC, as is the case with almost all Princeville condos and homes. I have never felt a need for it and quickly adjust to the tropical warmth. Wall to wall doors open to all four patios and lush tropical gardens.

The well equipped kitchen is remodeled with beautiful granite counter tops and custom hardwood cabinets from Bali. The new gourmet cook set and Jenn Air range provide a very functional touch. We enjoy great family meals and entertaining for friends and neighbors. The previous owner was an executive chef on a private yacht and added his personal touch.

The master bedroom has a paneled ceiling, entertainment center with new TV and Japanese shoji screens for privacy and soft exotic lighting. The spacious master bathroom has a double stone sink, full soaking bathtub and shower. The guest bedroom and bath is equally beautiful with antiques, Asian art and hardwood carvings and a nice ceiling fan. A mother of pearl translucent sink is one of the special features.

The Mauna Kai pool is the largest condo pool in Princeville, a pool where you can actually swim laps! Our condo is close to this great pool. The gazebo offers a gas grills, sink, fridge and space for a private party for 50, however it is usually empty and quiet!

A short drive will take you to Hanalei town or Hanalei Beach Park, an incredible town beach with endless sand, soft waves, wade in swimming and boogie board fun. For the more adventurous, Na Pali Coast hiking, kayaking and Secret Beach are the Ultimate! Secret Beach is a 1/2 mile of ever changing natural sand, waves and cliffs with rarely more than a handful of souls.

A short stroll to the Westin Resort gives you access to the finest luxury spa and dining comforts, without the price of the room. Or maybe just visit for coffee, drinks, excellent whale watching, or the ultimate Bali Hai sunset! Bali Hai is the north shore's canvas for the last sunset in the United States each evening. The mountain's majestic profile is the beginning of the Na Pali cliffs along the north shore of Kauai and provides a romantic backdrop for ocean cruises, helicopter flights, and spectacular hiking adventures. This is the million dollar sunset view just steps from our Mauna Kai condo in Princeville. A stay in our spacious 1500 square foot home is just what you're looking for.

The Princeville Center, 5 blocks away, provides many dining and shopping options, including the local market to stock our fully equipped kitchen. High speed WIFI or plug-in internet service. A HD LCD TV with a DVR and Netflix in the living room and the new second TV in master suite will get you through a rainy day.

Reduced rates are given for bookings that are back to back with other reservations and for those that fill holes between existing bookings. There is no minimum stay for bookings that fill a gap between two other reservations. Call or email me to discuss.

Princeville, on the north shore, is a great base to see everything Kauai has to offer. So come have a wonderful stay in Paradise.

Everything about this place is awesome!

  • 5 of 5

This Condo is exactly what you see in the pictures. It is beautifully decorated and very open to natural light throughout the day. The bedrooms are very roomy and comfortable. Bruce was cool enough to include free Wi-Fi which is a must if you are going to be posting instagram pics throughout your trip ;). He also includes free Netflix for when you get home and just wanna relax before going to bed. The location of the condo is perfect, some of the coolest places we went to were just minutes away from the condo. A big plus for me was that the condo included a full kitchen which is awesome because eating out everyday can get expensive. so running to walmart and stocking up on some food was a great option. The North Shore offers the best beaches and sights on the entire island. This is truly paradise. You will not regret staying in this condo.

One of the best

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have spent a week or so on Kauai every year for the last 10 years or so in either hotels or condos. We love the Princeville/Hanalei area.

We were excited when we found Bruce's condo online. The pictures were really nice and we had seen the complex before on previous trips.

Bruce was very easy to work with on finalizing our trip. He also provided many nice tips and suggestions before our arrival.

On arrival we were very pleased with the condition of the condo. The place is very comfortable and set up for an easy stay.

Steve the property Manager happened to be onsite when we arrived and he was very helpful and eager to make sure everything went well.

We would definitely stay again at Bruce's place.

The location, layout and amenities made for another awesome trip to Kauai.

In case you are thinking that I am just writing good stuff as a favor thats not true. The condo we stayed in a year ago in Princeville (for more money) did not get a favorable review.

One last thing, if you are on the fence about this unit over another unit the deciding factor is the hot tub on the deck. We were in the hot tub multiple times per day. It was really nice.

Paradise found

Wow! what a time. This is a Beautiful condo. We have been using VRBO for years all over the world and this was our best vacation yet. The atmosphere is fantastic. The place is very well kept and the kitchen was clean and very functional with everything you need to cook anything you want. It is close to the road but the owner Bruce has thought of everything from full wrap around privacy drapes to Asian sliding panels in the bedroom to bamboo hanging blinds outside around the private hot tub you can have all the privacy you need and then some. It is a great location and anytime you can walk to both the grocery store and the beach (with a small hike) you have nothing to complain about. All the details were presented to us in a timely manner and we did not have to chase the owner for a single thing. As a matter of fact we called the number for the on site handyman with a question and Bruce showed up in person to answer all our needs. Now that is service. There is a reason we chose to return to this Island, because we wanted a stress free vacation, and if that is what you are interested in this is the place for you. We learned something this time with VRBO... it is great to choose a nice rental unit, but it is priceless to have the great service and backup that this owner provided. Thanks again Bruce, we will be returning soon!!!! Aloha

Balinese Beauty

  • 5 of 5

Loved the exotic decor. Close to Anini Beach which is great for novices (we got to see a turtle cruise by, too). Enjoying the spa was an evening ritual. Enjoyed morning coffee outside with chickens in the yard but don't feed them. Kitchen was amply equipped. Preparing our first dinner we discovered kitchen drain needed a snake. It was handled first thing next morning. Washer/dryer in unit was very nice. Never used the pool but it would be an excellent place to read/swim and enjoy some down time. Kauai is my favorite island, due in part to the stay here!

Special spot

We had a great stay here - seems like the perfect size for two couples. The decor is really beautiful and the condo well-equipped. Location and parking are easy.

We loved the Kauai Ono food cart for a unique dinner and you can get awesome sushi-making supplies at the Dolphin (both nearby in Hanalei).

MAUNA KAI | Paradise on the North Shore

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had the luxury of meeting up from various corners of the world in the sheer beauty and charm of Mauna Kai: a breathtaking home enshrined in a beautiful Balinese decor, like staying in a Royal Temple elevated on the North Shore in Kaua'i - for an exceptional value! The space was gorgeous, and equipped with all the amenities we could dream of - including a private hot-tub for unwinding, garden surroundings, fully-furnished space, and access to a large crystalline pool. The spacious home was even larger in person then it appeared in the photos - and housed my wife and I; my parents; and brother slept on a plush sofa in the living room. Mauna Kai is perched in Princeville on the North Shore, a prime location - in it's magnificence and convenience - with several heavenly beaches, the town of Hanalei, grocery store, restaurants, etc. nearby. I certainly recommend a quick jaunt to view the Queen's Bath nearby, a hidden Kaua'i treasure with raging waters and bluffs in the neighborhood. Bruce was quick and eloquent in all his communications to us, going above and beyond with recommendations and detailed instructions for the perfect stay in the perfect home. His love for the space shined through in it's immaculate charm and preservation. Highly recommend this Dream Home for those looking for a Paradise stay that with live on in the mind and heart forever.

Kauai Weather

Weather you could be enjoying!

Mon 11/26/2012 at 7 pm it is 74°F , today's high was

H 80 F, and the low was L 66 F

Step off the plane and feel the warm embrace of Kauai with average yearly temperatures ranging between 84 and 69 degrees. Ocean temperatures are also perfect ranging from 71 to 81 degrees year round.

Kauai offers seven distinct microclimates, from lush interior spots to arid areas on the West Side. Mount Waialeale (elevation 5,148 ft) is at the heart of Kauai's uninhabited interior and is a quintessential rainforest with over 400-inches of rain per year. The rain that falls around Mt. Waialeale generally does not affect the coastal parts of the island, which get far less rain than the central spots (as little as 18-inches a year in western areas). Much of Kauai's rainfall is a nightly occurrence, and the rain showers that do occur are almost always brief. When you do see rain, wait for the beautiful rainbows that follow.

The trade winds in Kauai also keep things cool for visitors. The winds are generally light and help chase away much of Hawaii’s humidity. With such great weather, any time of year is a good time to visit Kauai.
