Geneva Cottage Rental Photos and Description

135 Ft of Flat Beach And Lawn; Screened Porch; Sleeps 6, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroo

Located on the western shore of beautiful Seneca Lake about eight miles south of Geneva just off Route 14, Easy Livin’ Cottage at Oak Grove Beach is a perfect place to relax and enjoy family fun. This two-bedroom lakeside cottage offers something to guests of all ages, and its location in the heart of the Finger Lakes makes Easy Livin’ Cottage an ideal destination for a family or two adult couples.

Easy Livin’ Cottage is very comfortable and decorated to reflect the Finger Lakes. It features a fully equipped brand new “L” shaped kitchen that includes an electric stove with oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, dishes, utensils, glassware, and pots and pans. A spacious living-dining room with a working fireplace and 32” LCD television set with Direct-TV and DVD provides warmth and entertainment on chilly evenings. Baseboard heat plus a heater in the bathroom are also available. There is one bathroom with a shower; the water supply is from the city. The master bedroom has a queen bed, and the second bedroom includes a bunk bed with a full mattress on the lower bed and a single on the upper and will sleep three. There is also a queen pullout sofa in the living room. French doors provide open access from the living area to the spacious screened-in porch overlooking the lake and features a picnic table and ample seating. This is a great place to enjoy the exquisite sunrises, the serene moon rises, or to relax, read a book or just daydream and enjoy the lake. The cottage is all on one floor with two steps at the driveway side entrance.

The large rolling lawn borders 135 feet of level natural lake frontage and provides wonderful opportunities for summer fun. You might cook on the charcoal grill, gather everyone around the outside picnic table for a summer barbecue, play a board game or game of cards, but be sure to take time to relax in the comfort of the Adirondack chairs on the lawn as you watch the wildlife and waves on the lake.

Eight stairs bring you to a level beach. The lakefront is all natural and the water depth is gradual, about three feet at the end of the dock and “dotted” with a few large rocks, making this a perfect spot to swim, wade and play in the water. The dock is great for relaxing and sunbathing. In the evening the fire pit is available for a campfire, toasting marshmallows and making s'mores. You can watch the moon rise across the lake, enjoy the serenity of the moonlight dancing on the lake, find the patterns in the stars, or simply listen to the water lapping on the shore. All this will make for Easy Livin’ during your stay at the cottage at Oak Grove Beach. Railroad Tracks run 100 feet behind the house with a short train about twice a day.

Family-friendly relaxation on Seneca

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful vacation home! Exceptionally clean and organized, well equipped with anything you might need. As frequent visitors to the area, these are the items that set this rental apart:

- Screened in porch: worth it's weight in gold! Such a great spot to start and end busy days spent visiting wineries, picking blueberries, or playing in the lake.

- AC: the wall unit cools the cottage very quickly when it's needed

- Huge yard and beach: plenty of room for everyone to play, picnic table and shade!

- Owners: Becky and Don were so accommodating, they brought over a high chair for our daughter as well as a vinyl cloth for the typical toddler mealtime spills.

Definitely looking forward to a return visit!

We were able to book a last-minute stay at Easy Livin' over Fathers Day weekend and I couldn't have been more pleased. Becky and Don are the most gracious of hosts; we were greeted with a lovely bouquet of peonies on our arrival! The cottage itself is delightful -clean, comfortable, and cozy; it had everything we needed. It also has a great location with a wonderful big yard, perfect for kids and/or dogs. Yes, the cottage is dog-friendly! My husband went on a fishing trip Sunday morning and we grilled lake trout that evening on the Weber grill that Don and Becky provide for their guests. (It was delicious).

As others have mentioned, Becky has compiled a notebook with all kinds of information for the Finger Lakes region that's a great resource. We visited several of the wineries (there are many), hiked the gorge path in Watkins Glen State Forest (spectacular, but try to avoid arriving at the same time as the tour buses!), did a driving tour of area waterfalls (from Becky's book), and visited Sonnenberg, a historic home with beautiful grounds and gardens. Oh, and my husband went to the race track in Watkins Glen and saw some of the cars and drivers out on the track, which he enjoyed.

My only regret is not having more time. We spent our days on activities and our nights relaxing outside or on the porch, watching the light of the full moon dance off the water. Thank you Don and Becky for accommodating us on such short notice and for all you did to make our stay so pleasant. Your Easy Livin' Cottage is the perfect getaway for a week or a long weekend!

Almost forgot to add, the train was such a novelty that enjoyed it. It came once or twice between six and midnight on the weeknights only; we didn't see any during the day or on the weekend.

family vacation

  • 5 of 5

It was a most wonderful place to stay and relax. The extremely large yard and slopping down to the water end is prefect for young and old. Lots of beach area for playing and swimming. What we also really liked was the shade areas for afternoon sun and such a private and quiet area. it also had one of the best places down by the water for a evening campfire. The inside of the cottage was very clean and neat and we had apply space for 5 adults and 2 children. Would have been nice to had another bathroom but we managed, and the one was very clean. Thank you Becky and Don for letting us enjoy your cottage.

Idyllic lakeside cottage

  • 5 of 5

My family (3 adults and one dog) spent a wonderful Memorial Day weekend at the Addonas' lakeside cottage. The house is comfortable and well-equipped for cooking, dining and relaxing. Our favorite aspect however was the large lawn, with beach and dock, where we spent most of our time enjoying the view from our Adirondack chairs, grilling, fishing, picnicking, and playing with the dog. Becky is a wonderful hostess and left a large book with comprehensive information about the area, covering essentially everything one might be interested in doing, from outdoor activities to wine-tasting to fine dining. She also emailed us with personal recommendations for local farmstands, wineries, etc. which we found excellent.

We could not have enjoyed our stay more, and are already discussing a return trip next year. :)

Perfect Getway spot

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful time. The cabin was perfect for the three of us. It was clean, comfortable and the location is what we were looking for. We used the Doc, BBQ, fire pit, and just enjoyed the outdoors. The great thing about this place is that it is close to Geneva and a ton of the wineries.

Becky, the owner, thought of everything to make our stay great, including a huge book of attractions, phone numbers, and general things to do while staying in the area.

Thank you Becky for all your hospitality and great communication!

Great place!!!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is clean, quiet and has everything you need or want when staying for a week or longer. There was everything right there and very convenient. There are plenty of chairs to sit on outside and in the sunroom. The sunroom is our favorite place to eat, sleep and view the lake. The owners are kind and response with any requests or concerns. I would recommend going to Seneca farms in penn yan for ice cream. I would recommend this cottage to families and friends. This was our second time at the cottage and we will be staying again next year. We love it!!!
