FARMHOUSE IN THE FORK: LAKE, WATERFALL, FISHING ON 41 PRIVATE ACRES LEIPERS FORK

Nashville Farmhouse Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedroom, 3 Bath + Game Room, Stocked Ponds And Outdoor Fireplace -sleeps 6-10

Farmhouse in the Fork - a Shelter + Roost property

Farmhouse in the Fork is located in legendary Leiper's Fork, just a short scenic 30 minute drive south of Nashville in the best community in the area. This is where the stars live and breathe. The close proximity makes it a perfect getaway for recording artists and entertainment professionals looking for peace and quiet during their stay in Nashville.

Leipers Fork is one of those places where you feel instantly at home and don't want to leave.

Stay long enough and you're bound to come across some of them who didn't: the Nashville Record Producer - now Grocer and owner of Puckett's, the Manhatten Mall Developer - now farmer, restauranteur and owner of Joe Natural's and the San Francisco Interior Design Firm Buyer - now Antique Dealer and owner of Serenite Maison. We encourage you to explore and experience the charm and character of what is known as Leipers Fork.

Our beautiful home sits on forty-one secluded acres in a storybook setting, minutes from Historic Leipers Fork Village. This home is ideal for a romantic getaway, weekend with friends, escape for the whole family, artist / writer's retreat, special events, corporate retreats and family reunions. Whatever that it may be that you are looking for, you'll most likely find it here.

The Farmhouse is located in a secluded setting in Leipers Fork, four miles from Historic Leipers Fork Village, twelve miles south of Franklin and thirty miles south of Nashville. The Natchez Trace Parkway is a little over a mile away and is perfect for hiking, biking, horseback riding and scenic drives.

Our five year old son, Wyatt loves to wake up early to see the family of river otters, catch frogs or go fishing in the pond, eat breakfast on the front porch, make s'mores over the crackling fire in the outdoor fireplace and play countless games of Uno and pool in the game room. My husband, Michael instantly fell in love with the beautiful views and the most amazing lightning bugs we have ever seen - hundreds that appear to be dancing all around you. I love waking up with a cup of tea on the front porch or in the sunroom and watching the catfish jump in the lake, lazy afternoons in the hammock - dozing off while reading a good book, eating dinner together outside on the back deck and listening to the banjo strum sound that the Green Frogs make.

Our home features an open living room with a vaulted ceiling and exposed beams and a hand laid fireplace built from stones off the land. The kitchen has granite countertops, a breakfast bar, stainless steel appliances and is stocked with everything you need, from a bottle opener to pots and pans, baking dishes to forks and knives. There is a game room with a pool table, television and a dartboard for endless entertainment as well as movies and board games. The sunroom and master bedroom also have televisions and DVD players. There are three spacious bedrooms in the house. The master bedroom is located on the first floor and has a king sized bed and walk-in closet. The other two rooms have queen size beds and are located on the second floor. An optional inflatable queen bed and two couches will allow for additional guests. Highchair and crib available upon request. The front porch has beautiful lake views and includes rocking chairs, a porch swing and an outdoor table and seating. There is a wood deck in the backyard with an equally beautiful view with a second hand laid fireplace built from stones off the land and a small kid's play structure. There is plenty of open space to play catch or toss the Frisbee and a pond near the barn... the pictures say it all.

The Farmhouse truly has a character all it's own... a story to be told, memories to be made... a secluded retreat nestled amongst the trees with wild life aplenty. Sit back, relax and enjoy.

Storybook Cottage: Hansel and Gretel could’ve lived here… really. And they would’ve loved the outdoor shower.

Jefferson House: A beautifully restored historic home, just walking distance to Main Street. This one belongs in a magazine. c.1900

Brigadoon: Imagine if Ralph Lauren had a yard sale and you’ll capture something of the essence of this dreamy place.

Why Sarah chose Nashville

Our son five year old son, Wyatt loves to wake up early to see the family of river otters, catch frogs in the pond, make s'mores over the outdoor fireplace and play countless games of Uno and pool. Michael instantly fell in love with the beautiful views and the most amazing lightning bugs we have ever seen - hundreds that appear to be dancing all around you. I love the lazy afternoons in the hammock, dozing off while reading a good book, eating dinner together outside on the front porch or the back deck and listening to the banjo strum sound that the Green Frogs make. The Farmhouse truly has a character all it's own... a story to be told, memories to be made... a secluded retreat nestled amongst the trees with wild life aplenty. Sit back, relax and enjoy.

What makes this farmhouse unique

In the beginning of 2011, we stumbled upon Leiper's Fork by pure chance, it was supposed to be a stopover, a rest stop, on our way to the next destination. It's not everyday we're moved by a person, a place, or an entire town. But we were, and we listened. We spent a year looking at more than 50 homes across Leiper's Fork and Franklin, until we finally made an offer on what would eventually become 'Farmhouse in the Fork'. Since we still lived in California, we decided to make the house available to the occasional guest or short-term renter when we weren't there. Before we knew it people started renting the Farmhouse and they kept coming back. And when their friends and families started contacting us wanting the same experience, we knew we were doing something right. Before we knew it one property turned into two, two turned into four and now Shelter + Roost offers five distinct properties to choose from. Not just any homes, but ones we've spent months and even years searching for. Every property is a reflection of us, our personality, and the places we love to stay. They're home.

With two children and a family owned baby products company as our day job, people often ask us why we don't turn things over to a property manager. The reason? We truly enjoy the relationships we make with our guests. We're not a hotel, we've opened up our homes to you, for you, to enjoy with family and friends. Besides the late nights spent answering emails while the kids sleep or the hours upon hours we spend making sure everything's perfect for our guests, there's something so fulfilling about sharing our properties with others. It's the stories we hear from them, the memories they make and the time they share together in our homes that make us smile.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Wow! What a week! Opryland for dinner, Grand Ole Opry for Craig Morgan, Bashville for boot shopping, Leiper's Fork for foot stompin' entertainment (just missed Carrie Underwood one of the employees said) Darn! Joe Naturals delicious lunch and unforgettable strawberry cake and the Jack Daniel's Distillery tour (well worth the drive) but our favorite was the farmhouse - home away from home. Beautiful decor, comfy beds and cozy fire. The weather was not always on our side, but the farmhouse was great for any temperature. Great hospitality

Beautiful house, late check in time

  • 4 of 5
The house and property are beautiful. There was ample space outside to explore, play lawn games, enjoy the fire and bbq. Our favorite part of the house was the large porch that had a beautiful view and always seemed to be the perfect temperature.

I wish we would have been able to check in earlier. We had people traveling over night from all over, and we were not able to check in until 4pm. We requested an earlier check in, but were told that would not be possible due to guests. It turns out they had actually been doing some work on the house. The porch was freshly painted and was still tacky when we got there. Being that it was our favorite place to hang out, it would have been nice if we would have been able to be bare foot on it.

My only other complaint is that the internet was not working. That made it a bit difficult to use phones since the service was spotty out there. Other than that, I would say bring bug spray and be SURE to check out Puckett's.

Absolute Perfection!

  • 5 of 5
The house was just as amazing as it looked and sounded in pictures and descriptions. Went with a group of girls for our weekend trip to Nashville and had an amazing time. There was so much to take advantage of at the house and on the property (pool table, games, outdoor fireplace) that a one night stay really wasn't enough!! Because we were looking to have a small get together, we didn't mind the fact that we were relatively far from a more active town, and with grocery stores a relatively short drive away, we were very well fed! The owners were extremely helpful and easy to work with. So thankful they were able to share this property with us!

A slice of heaven!

  • 5 of 5
My famly and I spent four nights at your amazing property in Leipers Fork, and I have to say that it was absolutely breathtaking. In fact, I cried when we had to leave! What a beautiful part of the world, and we would like to thank you for sharing it with us. The property had everything to meet our needs, and then some. The beds were very comfortable and the kids especially loved the pool table! We arrived to a slight flurry of snow, and then woke the next morning to a magnificent blanket of snow covering the grounds and trees, it was truly like a winter wonderland. We toasted marshmallows in the outdoor fireplace and took in the beautiful views from every part of the house. During the days we ventured into Franklin and historic Leipers Fork village, as well as visiting the Nashville Zoo, and it was always wonderful to arrive back "home" to such a beautiful setting. Thank you again, Sarah, for your hospitality, and we hope to be fortunate enough to return someday.

This is a beautiful home in a wonderful location. Close enough to Franklin and Nashville if you desire to have things to do and places to go but also a wonderful place to unwind and relax. We stayed a week and visited the Carnton plantation for some Civil War history, visited the shops at Lieper's Fork and Franklin and hiked along the Nachez trace. We also fished in the ponds and enjoyed the games, movies and pool table. It was a wonderful break from the hustle/bustle of life and you truly felt pampered from the comfortable beds to the soaps and shampoos which provided a spa feel to the place. The nesting geese and wild turkeys were delightful! We have two teenage daughters, one of whom is all about the shopping and even she truly loved the relaxation this home provided.....granted the huge mall at Franklin was available 1 day :)
