A newly-built guesthouse with the feel of the Old West.
We are located far enough out of Alpine to give you a rural feel, but in reality being just minutes from downtown, this studio guesthouse gives you the best of both worlds.
Sit out on the large covered porch and enjoy watching the quail and other wildlife, or visit with our own assortment of livestock. We are pet-friendly, and can even board horses for a small fee.
After you have enjoyed your day, relax around a fire in the fire pit, or soak in the hot tub while watching the sky for shooting stars and satellites. If you feel like cooking outside, there is a gas grill available, or you can BBQ over the fire in the fire pit.
Inside the guesthouse, you will experience the warmth of rustic and the comfort of modern from the custom-built cedar furniture and cabinetry to the knotty-pine vaulted ceiling, along with the wall of windows opening onto a fantastic view of Alpine against the mountains. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, sink, cook-top, and pantry. It is equipped with a microwave, toaster oven, automatic coffee-maker, toaster, and cooking utensils.
The queen-size custom-built bed has plenty of storage space under it in case you want to stay awhile.
The television is a 32-inch flat screen with satellite service and a DVD player.
The guesthouse is climate-controlled with a whisper-quiet heating and cooling system.
The modern, spacious bathroom includes a large walk-in shower, and a vanity with plenty of counter space. There is also a hair dryer, and an iron and ironing board.
Come stay outside the box, and experience the true West Texas.
This was the perfect getaway for our first anniversary as a married couple. The owners were so welcoming and it was awesome to be able to bring our dog with us. She really enjoyed playing with their dog as well. The casita was beautifully set up and relaxing. The sunsets were amazing and the hot tub was so nice to use in the evening! Thank you for an amazing time and we just booked to come back in June! I am counting down the days!!!
We had a good stay at the Mountain View Guest home. It was close enough to town to be convenient and far enough to feel like we had some space.
We had a relaxing time and the suite is well appointed and comfortable.
We were concerned about staying outside of the town...but the stars at night confirmed we made the right choice. Fantastic host, too!
My husband and I had a great visit at Lisa's Mountain View Guest House in Alpine. Her studio apartment provided everything for a comfortable stay and a hot tub for evening relaxing and star gazing after hiking the Park and seeing the West Texas sights.
Highly recommend this lovely retreat! We'll be back!
Very quiet, relaxing and cozy. The room was clean, spacious beyond expectations. The environment was quiet, with a great clear view of stars. The eggs were terrific, kitchenette was fully stocked. Lisa is a great host. We definitely plan to return.
Thank you so much for the perfect get away. From the time we arrived to the end of our stay we were comfortable, relaxed and enjoying the serenity of the surroundings. Our hosts were very personable and gracious, always making sure we had all we needed. The bungalow was well equipped with an efficient kitchenette, just right for small meals. The best treat was hen fresh eggs from the free range hens. Very Comfy bed, linens and very spacious bathroom. Great water pressure and an abundance of water for a nice shower. Every thing was decorated with cohesive thought. This was a great long weekend and we appreciated your sincere hospitality. We hope to see you again.
Located on the Fort Davis Hwy., we are just minutes away from downtown Alpine, Sul Ross University, restaurants, and shopping, including boutique art galleries and gift shops. Alpine is the gateway to Big Bend National Park, along with historic mining towns such as Terlingua(famous for its annual Chili Cookoff) and the bordertown of Lajitas with its championship golf course. To the west of Alpine is Marfa, filled with many historic buildings and a growing art community. In between Alpine and Marfa is the famous Marfa Lights visitors' center. North on the Fort Davis Hwy., along the Texas Mountain Trail, is the Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute, which features native plants of the Chihuahuan Desert located in a gorgeous canyon setting. Further down the road is the historic town of Fort Davis, just 20 minutes from us. While there, you can explore the actual Fort Davis, which is a National Historic Site. Fort Davis is filled with charming shops and restaurants that add to its Western flair. A little further up the road is the McDonald Observatory, where you can attend their famous Star Parties, or just take a tour. The Fort Davis Highway is used by both bicyclists and motorcyclists as a year-round scenic ride. There are so many activities to enjoy in this area, and we are located right in the heart of it all.
