RUSTIC WESTERN EXPERIENCE WITH HOT TUB FOR STARGAZING

Alpine Bungalow Rental Photos and Description

1Bedroom /1 Bathroom Guesthouse-Sleeps 2

A newly-built guesthouse with the feel of the Old West.

We are located far enough out of Alpine to give you a rural feel, but in reality being just minutes from downtown, this studio guesthouse gives you the best of both worlds.

Sit out on the large covered porch and enjoy watching the quail and other wildlife, or visit with our own assortment of livestock. We are pet-friendly, and can even board horses for a small fee.

After you have enjoyed your day, relax around a fire in the fire pit, or soak in the hot tub while watching the sky for shooting stars and satellites. If you feel like cooking outside, there is a gas grill available, or you can BBQ over the fire in the fire pit.

Inside the guesthouse, you will experience the warmth of rustic and the comfort of modern from the custom-built cedar furniture and cabinetry to the knotty-pine vaulted ceiling, along with the wall of windows opening onto a fantastic view of Alpine against the mountains. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, sink, cook-top, and pantry. It is equipped with a microwave, toaster oven, automatic coffee-maker, toaster, and cooking utensils.

The queen-size custom-built bed has plenty of storage space under it in case you want to stay awhile.

The television is a 32-inch flat screen with satellite service and a DVD player.

The guesthouse is climate-controlled with a whisper-quiet heating and cooling system.

The modern, spacious bathroom includes a large walk-in shower, and a vanity with plenty of counter space. There is also a hair dryer, and an iron and ironing board.

Come stay outside the box, and experience the true West Texas.

My wife and I, and Kingsley (our 5# Papitese) enjoyed our stay at the bungalow. It was a very convenient location for our visit to the Alpine-Big Bend area. The owners made an extra effort to ensure that our visit was very comfortable (the farm fresh eggs were an unexpected treat). The bungalow was very clean, beautifully decorated, and well equipped. I would highly recommend for a long weekend. Lisa and Steve are great hosts.

Mountain View Guest House is a very clean and very nice home. The windows overlook the pasture for the horses and donkey along with chickens, goats and a rooster. This is a great place for a one or two night stay. Might be a bit small for any longer stay. It was just right for myself and my dog. If you had more than two people, it would be pretty close quarters. Great for couples or a single with a pet. The home is very clean and updated.

Owner's Response: We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. This guest house was specifically designed for 2 people. We are currently in the process of building a guest house for 4-5 people, and we hope to have it completed by the end of summer. Our hope is that you will come back and bring your friends. Thank you for your review.

Lovely, peaceful bungalow, with animals!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The bungalow was very clean and nicely decorated, and the kitchenette was well-stocked, including a complimentary bottle of wine, which was so nice after the long drive from central Texas. We thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with the animals (horses, goats, chickens!!), lounging around in the sun on the patio, and soaking in the hot tub. It was very peaceful and felt very private. This was a nice central location for day-trips to the McDonald Observatory, Marfa, and Big Bend National Park. Thank you, Lisa, for being a great hostess!

We are a little nerdy, but we spent a long time at the Museum of the Big Bend in Alpine and totally enjoyed it. This area's history is quite interesting.

The property is beautiful as is the guest house - the pictures do not do it justice. Steve and Lisa are wonderful hosts, very accommodating while allowing you the space to enjoy your vacation. The guest house is packed full of all the amenities you will need to prepare meals and enjoy your time on the property, Not too far from Big Bend National Park if you wish to stay here and enjoy the park as well. Thanks Lisa and Steve! We will happily stay again if we find ourselves in the area again!
Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with us, and thank you for the wonderful review. We always try to achieve a warm, comfortable environment for every person that stays with us. The review process lets us know what we are doing right, and what we need to work on. The personal connection with our guests is very important to us, while letting them maintain their own experience. We look forward to your return visit.

My husband and I stayed in the bungalow for our 31st anniversary. We loved the bungalow with it's great amenities and rustic features. The weather iced us in for a couple of days but we had plenty of food, internet, television, and a view of the ranch animals! The hot tub is great and perfect for stargazing, weather permitting! Looking forward to a return visit!

Located on the Fort Davis Hwy., we are just minutes away from downtown Alpine, Sul Ross University, restaurants, and shopping, including boutique art galleries and gift shops. Alpine is the gateway to Big Bend National Park, along with historic mining towns such as Terlingua(famous for its annual Chili Cookoff) and the bordertown of Lajitas with its championship golf course. To the west of Alpine is Marfa, filled with many historic buildings and a growing art community. In between Alpine and Marfa is the famous Marfa Lights visitors' center. North on the Fort Davis Hwy., along the Texas Mountain Trail, is the Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute, which features native plants of the Chihuahuan Desert located in a gorgeous canyon setting. Further down the road is the historic town of Fort Davis, just 20 minutes from us. While there, you can explore the actual Fort Davis, which is a National Historic Site. Fort Davis is filled with charming shops and restaurants that add to its Western flair. A little further up the road is the McDonald Observatory, where you can attend their famous Star Parties, or just take a tour. The Fort Davis Highway is used by both bicyclists and motorcyclists as a year-round scenic ride. There are so many activities to enjoy in this area, and we are located right in the heart of it all.
