Alpine Bungalow Rental Photos and Description

1Bedroom /1 Bathroom Guesthouse-Sleeps 2

A newly-built guesthouse with the feel of the Old West.

We are located far enough out of Alpine to give you a rural feel, but in reality being just minutes from downtown, this studio guesthouse gives you the best of both worlds.

Sit out on the large covered porch and enjoy watching the quail and other wildlife, or visit with our own assortment of livestock. We are pet-friendly, and can even board horses for a small fee.

After you have enjoyed your day, relax around a fire in the fire pit, or soak in the hot tub while watching the sky for shooting stars and satellites. If you feel like cooking outside, there is a gas grill available, or you can BBQ over the fire in the fire pit.

Inside the guesthouse, you will experience the warmth of rustic and the comfort of modern from the custom-built cedar furniture and cabinetry to the knotty-pine vaulted ceiling, along with the wall of windows opening onto a fantastic view of Alpine against the mountains. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, sink, cook-top, and pantry. It is equipped with a microwave, toaster oven, automatic coffee-maker, toaster, and cooking utensils.

The queen-size custom-built bed has plenty of storage space under it in case you want to stay awhile.

The television is a 32-inch flat screen with satellite service and a DVD player.

The guesthouse is climate-controlled with a whisper-quiet heating and cooling system.

The modern, spacious bathroom includes a large walk-in shower, and a vanity with plenty of counter space. There is also a hair dryer, and an iron and ironing board.

Come stay outside the box, and experience the true West Texas.

Nice Alpine Rental

  • 4 of 5
My husband and I stayed at the guesthouse for 3 nights. The guesthouse includes a large bathroom and a single room with queen bed, kitchenette, and small sitting area. A very comfortable, large hot tub is just outside. The view from the backyard is very nice; the stars at night are incredible. The guesthouse and hot tub are in the backyard of the owner's house, which is located about 20 feet away. The place was immaculately clean, and the owners left us a bottle of wine and a dozen fresh eggs from their hens, which were really nice and unexpected treats. The location is just a couple of miles north of Alpine, so is very convenient, but is just off the hwy, so car traffic can be heard. This is a great place if you're looking for someplace to use as a base for day trips to Alpine, Big Bend, Fort Davis, or other local areas. However, if you're looking for seclusion or a romantic getaway, this would not be the place because of it's proximity to the owner's home.

Lisa was very responsive through the inquiry/booking process. Her paperwork is simple and clear and has all the info you'll need. The place was easy to find and in a great secluded location of Alpine where you could enjoy the stars!

The place was clean and well stocked with things like spices and makeup removal wipes. Lisa and her husband would always ask if we were having a good stay and even fixed the DVD player for us.

Really nice people who grow a bunch of organic vegetables - they gave us so much okra and green beans to take home! Highly recommend this place to have easy access to Big Bend, Marfa, and Fort Davis/McDonald Observatory.

Oh and our beagle loved staring down the horses and goats!

Steve and I have traveled extensively, and have tried to combine the best of all our experiences into the guest house. We are constantly trying to improve the guest experience. We believe that a major factor of an excellent stay must include a good personal interaction between us and our guests. We look forward to your next visit.

Absolutely Fantastic

  • 5 of 5
I was extremely happy with my stay at Lisa's guesthouse. The property is incredible and very well taken care of. The guesthouse had everything I needed and was just perfect. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was large and very up-to-date. I felt like I was at a resort. Everything about my stay was easy and enjoyable. Lisa was an very gracious host and even sent me home with some fresh organic produce from her garden! Fresh eggs from the hens that live on the property and a bottle of white wine was waiting in the refrigerator when I arrived. A very nice gesture! Like I said before, the property is taken care of and looks beautiful. The property looks professionally landscaped and the animals look very content. Lisa has done something special with her property and we are very fortunate she has it listed on Homeaway!

Thank you again, Lisa! I look forward to coming back sometime in the future.

Located on the Fort Davis Hwy., we are just minutes away from downtown Alpine, Sul Ross University, restaurants, and shopping, including boutique art galleries and gift shops. Alpine is the gateway to Big Bend National Park, along with historic mining towns such as Terlingua(famous for its annual Chili Cookoff) and the bordertown of Lajitas with its championship golf course. To the west of Alpine is Marfa, filled with many historic buildings and a growing art community. In between Alpine and Marfa is the famous Marfa Lights visitors' center. North on the Fort Davis Hwy., along the Texas Mountain Trail, is the Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute, which features native plants of the Chihuahuan Desert located in a gorgeous canyon setting. Further down the road is the historic town of Fort Davis, just 20 minutes from us. While there, you can explore the actual Fort Davis, which is a National Historic Site. Fort Davis is filled with charming shops and restaurants that add to its Western flair. A little further up the road is the McDonald Observatory, where you can attend their famous Star Parties, or just take a tour. The Fort Davis Highway is used by both bicyclists and motorcyclists as a year-round scenic ride. There are so many activities to enjoy in this area, and we are located right in the heart of it all.
