This beautiful lake home with a spacious screened-in porch and patio is only 75 feet from the water’s edge, making it easy to keep an eye on the kids playing in the sand or swimming. I grew up in Iowa and spent my summers on this lake with my parents from age 5 until I was an adult. The beauty of the lake continued to draw me back to my parent's cabin even after I was married and had kids. A couple of years ago, my husband and I decided to find our own place on the lake that we will retire to someday. In the meantime, we'd like others to enjoy the beauty of our lakeside retreat.
Lake Ida is one of the cleanest lakes in the Alexandria area. We love the private, relaxing location. We also love that the home is on a flat lot that allows easy access to the lake - we can sit on the dock, or sit on the patio or porch and still be close to the water. And the sunrises over the water are amazing!
The people in the Alexandria area truly give meaning to the phrase 'Minnesota nice!' Your days at the lake can be as busy or as relaxing as you choose. You can enjoy all of the activities a lake has to offer. Lake Ida is the second largest lake in Douglas County with over 4,400 acres to boat, paddle, swim, sail, or fish. It is a very clean lake and is one of the most desired lakes in the Alexandria Area. If you're looking for a more relaxing vacation, you can simply relax with a good book or puzzle while enjoying the beautiful view. If you prefer to get out and do things, we are only 5 minutes away from hiking trails at Carlos State Park, 10 minutes from several golf courses, or 15 minutes from a live performance theatre, movie theatres, bowling, many restaurants, the Central Lakes Bike Trail, and a quaint downtown shopping district with boutiques, antique stores, and craft shops. Alexandria even offers minor league baseball and the Viking Speedway, if you like auto racing.
