Come relax at the Hide Away on beautiful Spider Lake, Michigan. This 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home is steps away from the crystal clear waters of a friendly, all-sports lake in Northern Michigan. Perfect for families, this recently re-decorated home is tucked into a no-wake cove, providing peaceful waters along 250' of private lake frontage. With a sandy beach, fire pit, patio and two kayaks provided for you, you can enjoy the water right from our private shoreline. Sunset views, star gazing, sun-bathing and fishing can be enjoyed from our large, new dock. If you can tear yourself away from the lake, Traverse City is only 15 minutes away with plenty to do, like the National Cherry Festival (including Air Show!), Traverse City Film Festival, Old Mission Peninsula Wineries, award winning restaurants, downtown shopping and water sports along the Traverse Bay. The area is known for its wonderful cherries, championship golf courses, TART biking trails and extensive hiking routes. This part of Northern Michigan is home to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, awarded “Most Beautiful Place in America” by ABC’s Good Morning America. From the Hide-Away, you can enjoy a day-trip to the dunes and other fun destinations along Michigan’s famous M-22 scenic drive, or visit the Interlochen Center for the Arts, which hosts nationally known artists during summer concerts. Winter sports abound as well, with cross country and down hill skiing, snow mobiling and ice fishing too. Cherry Capital Airport is only 20 minutes away. Although you may be tempted to pack your stay full of activities, make sure to leave time to unwind and enjoy the calm and beauty that this home-away-from-home offers for you and your family.

Our whole family has loved traveling to Northern Michigan for over a decade. We so loved it that we decided to buy a home away from home to enjoy and share. We love Traverse City that has so much to do, year round, including the National Cherry Festival and Traverse City Film Festival. In the wider area, our favorite place to visit is Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore to climb the Dunes, but also enjoy being close to the Lake Michigan towns of Leland, Charlevoix, Petoskey etc. We never run out of things to do while we are there, and cannot wait to return whenever we leave.

What makes this house unique

Upon deciding to head Up North, we looked for years for the perfect property. When we drove down the secluded lane to this house and saw the peaceful lake views and home that felt just right - we knew! We love the lake and its friendly vibe, with a nice mix of year round and visiting residents. This is not a partying kind of lake, but one perfect for families who love all sorts of water and winter sports. The best feature of the home is the view of the lake! It is so peaceful, the stress just slips away as soon as we get there. The front of the house is lined with windows, so this view - including gorgeous summer sunsets and stars - can be seen inside and out. We just love this spot and hope you will too.

"Our family spent a wonderful week at the Hide Away. This home is roomy, welcoming and well-appointed. It's tucked away in a cozy corner of Spider Lake - just a short drive from shopping and local attractions. Our time there was filled with sun, fun and peace and quiet. Our group ranged in age from 4 years to "senior" and everyone had a great time. The layout is perfect for vacation fun - plenty of space to spread out, a large eating area for family meals, comfy beds and furniture as well as family friendly outdoor spaces. The week there went by far too fast but we plan to hide away at the Hide Away again soon."
