I am a Leelanau County native I grew up in Suttons Bay. My Husband is from near Lansing. He moved here over 25 years ago. He built the house in 1990, we combined our families. We raised our six children here in this home. Now they are all grown and we have an empty nest. It's been a great home for us with a large family, friends, relatives. We know it's a great place to entertain and plenty of room for gathering and visits. We have had so much fun and we enjoy making memories here and we'd like to share that with you.

We love this property because it is 'Thee Great Up North Experience'. We really have lived our lives in the 'Up North' Vacation Model. We have walked and hiked, played and explored. We love the character and privacy of the property. The house sits on a clear lot about an acre or two. The road that runs by is very quiet. It's a mere 1/2 mile to the Shoreline of Grand Traverse Bay and M-22. It can be whatever you want. Minutes from anything and anywhere you WANT to be. Yet A Million miles away from Everything you don't.

It's proximity to Everything Leelanau and Grand Traverse County. It's a Vactioners Paradise. BUT We love the privacy of the property. The house sits on a clear lot about an acre or two, on this road that is hardly used by the public. We raised our six children here in this home. It has a Huge open floor plan. Lots of room for sleeping. Lots of room for entertaining. Lots of room outside. 'Room to Run' We remodeled in 2007 and refreshed the home again in 2013. It's big, spacious, light , bright, cozy, comfortable and durable. It's been a great home for us with a large family, friends, relatives. It's a great place to entertain.

GREAT FAMILY GATHERING SPOT!

  • 5 of 5
We rented the home for a large family gathering. We stayed here with my brother-in-law's family and my sister-in-law's family (6 adults, 5 kids age 4-15). The home was clean and tidy when we arrived. The listing description was accurate, although the rooms were bigger than the pictures made it seem, which was a bonus. We hosted 2 gatherings of the rest of the family, and it never felt crowded. Everyone loved this place. The fire pit and the hot tub were particularly well-enjoyed by all. Thank you for the smores!

On the first morning after we arrived, we discovered we didn't have a working blender. I called the owner and she brought us one within about an hour. We really appreciated her responsiveness.

The location was great - 25 minutes to our family on Cathead Bay, 30 minutes to Traverse City. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this rental to others.

Owner's Response: Thank You so much for the wonderful review. I am so glad all of the "surprises" you had were positive (ie: larger than expected rooms and s'mores). You're Welcome for the S'mores AND you are Welcome back anytime... you were great guests! Thank You for staying with us.

GUESTS FROM BAY

  • 5 of 5
Our family really enjoyed staying at the rental! We certainly made use of the hot tub, back porch and fire pit. It's a great spot for anyone looking for a quiet getaway and not far from all the Penninsula has to offer. Everything was convenient and clean and the owner went out of her way to accommodate our needs. Great for a larger group also as some nights there were 10 or 12 of us. We would not hesitate to stay there again and explore the unique area again!
