This restored farm house has beautiful wood trim. The original wood flooring has been refinished. The furnishings have been selected to reflect the early period of the home but with comfort in mind. The period style sitting chairs and love seat all recline to make watching a movie on the 3D TV and Blu-ray player a comfortable experience. The large bedroom has two full size beds and plenty of closet space, the second bedroom as a full size bed with a beautiful handmade quilt. The kitchen is fully furnished and even includes some staples like flour, sugar, peanut butter etc. The bathroom includes a jetted tub and a separate shower. The yard is large a spacious with plenty of room to park ATV trailers and extra vehicles. The patio is equipped with a gas barbeque grill and dining table as well as chairs for lounging in the shade while the kids play on the spacious lawn. The home is centrally located to Capital Reef National Park, Fish Lake, and the Fremont Indian State Park. For ATV enthusiasts the Piute ATV Trail System which has over 900 miles of trail can be accessed directly from the house. A listing of suggested routes can be provided to make your experience on the trail system memorable. Two mountain bikes can be provided on request. These are great for cruising around town or riding some of the nearby trails.
I grew up in this house. I have spent the last several years restoring my childhood home. My most recent project was getting the wood floors restored and installing wood trim to augment the existing trim. My husband and I love the area and the opportunities it provides for ATV riding, fishing, mountain biking and hiking. I also enjoy playing golf in Richfield.
Barb Bode purchased this farmhouse in 2001
This property belonged to my parents. After they passed away we decided to do some serious remodleing, you know get rid of the pink carpet and wall panelling as well as the purple shag carpet in the bedroom, and turn the home into a vacation rental.
Plenty of parking for ATV trailers or extra vehicles. Nice patio to sit and enjoy the weather. Deer can often be seen walking down the road or munching on crabapples or hay stacks. Two mountain bikes are available for use. Use this as a base to see the nearby state and national parks.
This is a wonderful home....not a house where you feel instantly at home. The home has everything you need to relax and enjoy time off or time with family and friends. The owner is outstanding to work with and the home is exceptionally clean and well maintained. The home sits in the small town of Glenwood which is very quaint and fun to just take a nice long walk through in the mornings. We had a wonderful and peaceful stay in a beautiful area of Utah. Thank you so much, Barb!!
We stayed for a week exploring the surrounding area, and this was a great home base. Nice and quiet with comfortable furnishings and a well stocked kitchen.
After many tournaments/weekends in hotels, I decided to "wisen up" and look for a home for our Richfield State Finals. I am so happy to have found this treasure of a home just 5 miles outside of Richfield, in beautiful and quiet Glenwood! My three sons (plus an extra) and my husband and I were so comfortable. Mom was super pleased to have a washer and dryer and a kitchen to prepare meals. The kitchen is well-stocked with many extras I wasn't anticipating. My husband used the barbeque and the covered patio was perfect to sit and relax while the boys played on the big lawn. Barb, the owner, was extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. If you are looking for a small-town treasure, a peaceful retreat, and you appreciate restored homes for their uniqueness, you will not find a complaint about this home. Thank you Glenwood Home for a memorable weekend, we will be back!
The house was all we had hoped. We had a great time and enjoyed the house. Iwould not hesitate to recomend this property to anyone
We spent a few nights at this vacation rental. It was amazing! The house was beautifully decorated, the beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen was fully stocked. The house was in a very quiet neighborhood and had a great porch and BBQ area to enjoy the peace. Beyond that, the house was very clean and well-kept. At night, we got to enjoy the 3D TV and all the movies.
This was a great experience and I recommend it to anyone. You will enjoy the comforts of a house for less than the cost of a hotel, and it will be a decision you won't regret.
Only 2 vacation rental homes near Fish Lake, this was the most affordable and could house all 9 0f us, 5 adults and 4 teenagers who slept on extra matress pads in the livingroom. They quickly made use of the 3d movies and 4 3d glasses and various games located in the closet. The owner, barb, snd her niece was very helpful in giving us advice on things to do, directions, etc. We used the bbq in the covered patio to the side of the house. The bbq fit the tub of steak and chickens. The boys caught a couple of trouts and we fried it hours later. Will not stay at a hotel anymire, vacation homes are the way to go. Had a great time, thanks Barb.
If you like the outdoors this is the place for you. You can ride the Paiute ATV trail, go mountain biking, or start a hike right from the front porch. Try your hand at fishing at Fish Lake, Koosharem Res, on the Sevier river, or in one of the many mountain lakes and streams. Visit Capitol Reef National Park, Fremont Indian State Park, Big Rock Candy Mountain. Go rafting on the Sevier River. I grew up in this area and can provide personal insight on where to go and what to see.
