About Barb Bode

I grew up in this house. I have spent the last several years restoring my childhood home. My most recent project was getting the wood floors restored and installing wood trim to augment the existing trim. My husband and I love the area and the opportunities it provides for ATV riding, fishing, mountain biking and hiking. I also enjoy playing golf in Richfield.

Barb Bode purchased this farmhouse in 2001

Why Barb Bode chose Richfield

This property belonged to my parents. After they passed away we decided to do some serious remodleing, you know get rid of the pink carpet and wall panelling as well as the purple shag carpet in the bedroom, and turn the home into a vacation rental.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Plenty of parking for ATV trailers or extra vehicles. Nice patio to sit and enjoy the weather. Deer can often be seen walking down the road or munching on crabapples or hay stacks. Two mountain bikes are available for use. Use this as a base to see the nearby state and national parks.

Happy Baseball Mom!!

  • 5 of 5
After many tournaments/weekends in hotels, I decided to "wisen up" and look for a home for our Richfield State Finals. I am so happy to have found this treasure of a home just 5 miles outside of Richfield, in beautiful and quiet Glenwood! My three sons (plus an extra) and my husband and I were so comfortable. Mom was super pleased to have a washer and dryer and a kitchen to prepare meals. The kitchen is well-stocked with many extras I wasn't anticipating. My husband used the barbeque and the covered patio was perfect to sit and relax while the boys played on the big lawn. Barb, the owner, was extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. If you are looking for a small-town treasure, a peaceful retreat, and you appreciate restored homes for their uniqueness, you will not find a complaint about this home. Thank you Glenwood Home for a memorable weekend, we will be back!

Owner's Response: Staying in a vacation rental is so much better than a hotel especially if you have 4 or more people and the vacation rental has all the amenities you need. Hope to see you next year.

Wonderful House!

  • 5 of 5
We spent a few nights at this vacation rental. It was amazing! The house was beautifully decorated, the beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen was fully stocked. The house was in a very quiet neighborhood and had a great porch and BBQ area to enjoy the peace. Beyond that, the house was very clean and well-kept. At night, we got to enjoy the 3D TV and all the movies.

This was a great experience and I recommend it to anyone. You will enjoy the comforts of a house for less than the cost of a hotel, and it will be a decision you won't regret.

fishing trip with the kids

  • 5 of 5
Only 2 vacation rental homes near Fish Lake, this was the most affordable and could house all 9 0f us, 5 adults and 4 teenagers who slept on extra matress pads in the livingroom. They quickly made use of the 3d movies and 4 3d glasses and various games located in the closet. The owner, barb, snd her niece was very helpful in giving us advice on things to do, directions, etc. We used the bbq in the covered patio to the side of the house. The bbq fit the tub of steak and chickens. The boys caught a couple of trouts and we fried it hours later. Will not stay at a hotel anymire, vacation homes are the way to go. Had a great time, thanks Barb.

Owner's Response: I’m glad the teens enjoyed the trip and that the house had all you needed to feel at home. Fish Lake is a beautiful place in the summer and a good place to get out of the heat. I agree with you, vacation homes are the way to go. They provide much more room and more freedom to do what you like.

Beautiful cozy home

  • 5 of 5
Our group of 5 adults thoroughly enjoyed this home. It is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. We were able to ride our ATV's right from the house and appreciated the owners suggestions for rides. We made use of the mountain bikes as well. It was very relaxing to sit on the front porch in the evenings. We were able to prepare food in the well stocked kitchen. We would highly recommend this property.

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your stay. Being able to take so many different four wheeler rides right from the house is so convenient. I always enjoy just riding the mountain bikes around town there is not much traffic. There are also several fun rides you can take right from the house. I have been mapping them out as well to provide to renters. I hope you can come stay with us again.

Welcome Home

  • 5 of 5
I grew up in Richfield and have not been back for years, but we decided to vacation there as a family. I had forgotten what a wonderful place it is. I golfed at Cove View so much that my wife was starting to scowl at me. We rode four wheelers to the top of Cove Mountain and spent quality family time at the beautiful farm house with our children and grandchild. Our grandbaby got her first sleep out on the front pouch.
There is nothing compared to a small town Fourth of July.
This house is exactly as it shows on the webpage so the only surprises were happy ones. The owner and I kept in touch via text messaging which made life easy.
If you are staying in Richfield and are considering a hotel, don't!

Owner's Response: Having a house to stay in is so much nicer than staying in a hotel. The golf course in Richfield is very nice and there are so many other things to do in the area, it is easy to spend a week here.

If you like the outdoors this is the place for you. You can ride the Paiute ATV trail, go mountain biking, or start a hike right from the front porch. Try your hand at fishing at Fish Lake, Koosharem Res, on the Sevier river, or in one of the many mountain lakes and streams. Visit Capitol Reef National Park, Fremont Indian State Park, Big Rock Candy Mountain. Go rafting on the Sevier River. I grew up in this area and can provide personal insight on where to go and what to see.
