Walking Distance To Streetcar, St Charles Ave. And Magazine Street

Renovated two story house in the heart of historical Uptown. Just a block from several well know New Orleans restaurants (La Crepe Nanou, Upperline, Kyoto, LA Thai...).

3 blocks from St Charles Avenue with streetcar access to downtown and 4 short blocks to famous Magazine St with restaurants, bars and shopping.

The house has a big secluded balcony in the back with bbq and a small balcony in the front of the house.

Master bedroom located downstairs with queen bed. One other bedroom upstairs also with queen bed.

The third bedroom is used a a child room but can be set up with an inflatable mattress on request.

Upstairs has an open floor plan with a gas fireplace. Downstairs has a den used as a TV room.

Comes with Wireless internet and Cable TV (with HBO).

We have two bikes (cruiser) that can be used to bike around the lovely (and bike/walk friendly) neighborhoods of Uptown. Audobon park and the New Orleans zoo is about 1 mile away.

Located few blocks and few minutes walking from the Uptown parade routes for Mardi Gras!

About Kai Tonnesen

We are a couple in our mid 30's that moved to New Orleans from Norway about 10 years ago. We have a 2 year old daughter and a friendly cat. I work as a software engineer for a local company and my wife works as a research scientist at LSU. This is the house we live in, but given the fact that we travel a lot and often leave for Norway for several weeks at the time, we decided to rent our house when we are not there.

Why Kai Tonnesen chose New Orleans

When we first moved to the area we lived in the suburbs, but when we got to know the city we fell in love with the beautiful Uptown and decided to settle down here. It is so close to everything and it is a place that gives you that true New Orleans feeling and experience.

What makes this house unique

The house is 100 years old and has a lot of charm and character. Upstairs has a renovated kitchen and living room with an open floor plan. From this level there is also access to a big balcony in the back that has a gas bbq and table that will sit 6-8 people. There is also a small balcony in the front where you can enjoy your morning coffee and watch the people walking the street below.

Amazing Uptown House!!

We had such an amazing time at this beautiful 3 bedroom house in Uptown. We had 7 people in our party and could not have been more comfortable. There are two bedrooms with queen beds, and a child's room in which the owners put a queen-size blow up mattress. The back deck/ yard is spacious and beautiful equipped with a grill...which we utilized several times during our stay.

The location was great! We made use of the 3 cruiser bikes on the property to take a ride to Surrey's (great breakfast place)!! Tipitina's is walking distance and the St. Charles street car is only two blocks away.

We look forward to renting this house again next year for Jazz Fest!!
