Overview

Garden District House Rental Photos and Description

2 Br/1ba Sleeps 4

Our home is a beautiful, spacious 2 story split level house with a 1000 square foot first floor for rent. The downstairs has an open floorplan with plenty of natural light and a cozy courtyard. It has two bedrooms and the master bedroom faces the front yard with a beautiful fountain. Both bedrooms come with luxury linens and spacious closets. The couch in the living room can also be made into a queen size bed.

No need for a rental car since the property is located in the Historic Garden District only steps away from Magazine Street and 3 blocks from St Charles Avenue and Mardi Gras parades. However, if you do have a car, the property comes with a reserved parking spot. Spend your day walking around in the prestigious Garden District or enjoy shopping on Magazine Street, the best shopping district the city has to offer. Restaurants, bars and grocery stores are conveniently located within blocks. Want to go downtown? The historic Streetcar on St Charles Avenue will take you all the way to the French Quarter. Buses run frequently from Magazine Street and a taxi will take you there in 10 minutes.

Come explore New Orleans like a local, you'll never want to leave.

About Owner/Property Manager

My wife & I moved to New Orleans 13 years ago and we absolutely love the city. It has so much to offer and the people treat you like family. We enjoy spending time in the Garden District, crawfish boils and of course watching the Saints.

Owner/Property Manager purchased this house in 2010

Why Owner/Property Manager chose Garden District

We had previously rented a place in the Garden District on the famous St Charles Avenue and we knew that we wanted to stay in the area. After two years of looking, we finally found the perfect house for us. It has everything we ever wanted. Fantastic house with great neighbors in a beautiful neighborhood.

Garden District Oasis

  • 5 of 5

A picture perfect stay. I have heard so much about this incredible city and was adamant about wanting to stay in the Garden District and avoid the chaos of Bourbon Street madness. This home provided an ideal location for wandering the city but was in a darling neighborhood as stores and restaurants are charming indie boutiques, vintage shops and galleries as well as pawn shops (which I appreciate) as well as practical places such as nearby grocery and drug store. While the pictures of this property are entirely accurate and the place cozy and cute, what they do not detail are Lise and Anders being the perfect and gracious hosts. While present and completely available, they are also very much in the background but always quick to appear if there was a question or issue. I couldn't have been happier and so appreciated the clean, bright, meticulously maintained space. I have a feeling that in the future it will be impossible to book given its perfect appeal. Thank you so much Anders and Lise for making room for guests in your home. I would love to return on my next trip to NOLA!

Fantastic location, situated close to everything

  • 5 of 5

My family was gathering in New Orleans to leave for a cruise to celebrate my aunt's retirement. My mother, aunt and I arrived a few days early to explore New Orleans. I wanted a non-tourist experience and this location was perfectly situated for exploring the Garden District, with the restaurants and bars of Magazine Street located nearby. We rented a car and this neighborhood has amble parking.

The rental was everything that was listed, the photos accurately capture the locale, everything was super clean and in good condition. Anders and Lisa were splendid - answering my questions and providing great resources for finding out what was nearby.

I recommend this highly and hope to visit New Orleans and heartily recommend this to anyone looking to stay in the Garden District.

Another 5 Star Review

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I traveled with our 2 year old to Mardi Gras and Anders' house was the perfect home base for our week in the Big Easy.

Transportation: If you have a rental car there is ample street parking but also a reserved spot if its needed. The streetcar is only a short walk away for access to the French Quarter or uptown. We also rented bicycles which were conveniently delivered to us from BikeNola and are a great way to also see the city.

Location: In the relaxing Garden District. There are 2 supermarkets and a pharmacy in close walking distance. Magazine street boutiques and restaurants are a stone's throw.

Accommodations: The unit was as-represented in the photos. 2 bedrooms with closet space, one full bath and a larger kitchen/living room space. There was plenty of room for our toddler to stretch his legs and explore the house. The enclosed courtyard was a great place for him to run around without our having to keep to close of an eye on him.

Hosts: Anders and Lisa were responsive and helpful every time I contacted them leading up to our visit. Anders met me on arrival and after that we had complete privacy- we never even saw him again.

This is a great place to stay for those who don't want to pay full hotel prices and for those who want to get a more authentic visit to one of the most special places in the world.

Highly recommend!

Great Location

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was wonderful. The owners were most concerned about our comfort . There were helpful hints provided. The location was walking distance from restaurants, supermarket, and the trolley to downtown. We had our car and there was convenient parking and were minutes from all attractions. Our dog was safely walled in and the neighborhood provided many beautiful Garden District walks. We would go again with no hesitation.

great location,friendly owners

Our apartment was more than we expected. It was nicer than the photos. The apartment was very clean and roomy with all available facilities. The owners went out of their way to be helpfull and attend to our needs and inquiries. In the beautiful garden district we could walk to the tram for the trip into the city and walk within minutes to pubs, cafes, restaurants, supermarket and buses. We are 3 people aged 60 and we felt very safe staying in this district. We would recommend The Bulldog Pub,Joey K's cafe. The 'Po Boy' cafe on Magazine Street.Magazine St is a long, lively Street with many shops, cafes etc to visit.I would highly recommend this apartment and we look forward to meeting the owners when they visit Australia in a couple of years time.

Couldn't wish for a better place to stay in New Orleans!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of three stayed in this beautiful home for three nights and would love to have stayed longer. It is immaculately clean, very stylish, spacious and fully equipped with everything needed for a very comfortable stay. It is truly a home away from home and would be fabulous for a long term stay.

Inside is beautifully decorated in a chic and uncluttered style, and the outside grassed area and courtyard are delightful. Both inside and outside are very light, open and relaxing.

Our host Anders was very helpful and informative.

On top of that the neighbourhood is THE BEST in New Orleans, the glorious Garden District. Imagine living in an area which all the tour guides list as a must see. Stunning homes and gardens on fragrant leafy streets surround you. We would highly recommend this home to everyone.
