Camden House Rental Photos and Description

3 B/r, 2 1/2 Bath, With Mountain & Water Views From All Windows

A new kitchen opens to the dinning area with windows and sliders filling the space with light and ocean air. Just one step down is a large bluestone patio with fieldstone sitting wall and a gas grill.

This overlooks the perfect yard for croquet or catch. From the patio you can walk up to the 2nd floor deck. This runs the length of the house giving 2 of the 3 bedrooms egress to the upper seating area where in the sun or under an awning you can spend the day. Don't forget your binoculars.

The third floor has a bonus room where the views open up even further to the mountains and bay. With a fridge and 1/2 bath up there you may never come down.

About Jim

There are few properties that are this close to town, have a nice yard with some shade trees and have some views of the bay and the entrance to the harbor. Though we share a property line with the boatyard we find that the occasional boat parked out back adds to the seaside ambiance. Our views from the 2nd and third floor decks look over any boats in the lot and are represented well in the photos.

Jim purchased this house in 1986

Why Jim chose Camden

The best place to vacation and bring the kids. With the water and the mountains we always had plenty to do.

Perfect Maine Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5

We had an absolutely delightful 4-week stay in this property in July and August. The house was spotless and so well-equipped we didn't need to add a thing. Can't decide what our most favorite thing about the house was - the views, the lovely neighborhood, or the wonderful walk into the heart of Camden from this location, which takes you right past the harbor and library.

We spent many hours relaxing on the upper decks reading and watching the boats coming and going from Camden Harbor.

It was a joy preparing meals in the large and convenient kitchen, but we enjoyed dining in the many good restaurants in Camden, too.

Had plenty of room for our children and grandchildren to visit, and the back yard allowed for lots of games of catch.

In short, this was the perfect place for our summer vacation!

The way life should be

This was my first time renting a home for a vacation and it was a wonderful experience. The home is clean and spacious and the balconies are wonderful. I would definitely recommend this home rental to anyone visiting the Camden area.

Title says it all!

All the comforts of home and then some. Our family had a wonderful time in this well appointed, warm and inviting piece of heaven in Maine. We enjoyed our walks through downtown Camden and even made time for a hike up Mount Battie for the spectacular view.

What ever the day had in store, it was a treat to come back to the comforts of this gem of a property to cook a meal in the well stocked kitchen or just relax in front of the warmth of the wood stove. The owner seems to have thought of every sort of amenity. We really loved the popcorn maker, it added a special touch to some family time as we watched a movie on the large flat screen TV in the parlor. We hope to come back as often as we can!

The ideal rental house in picture perfect Maine

  • 5 of 5

My family of four (with two kids) plus my parents, rented this very large home over the July 4th weekend. We chose Camden for its central location on the coast, in order to allow us to take day trips throughout the state.

The home was ideal for two families. We had lots of space, and lots of privacy. In fact, the home seemed to go on an on. Lots of rooms and spaces. We took advantage of the nicely appointed kitchen and the outdoor grill area to make home cooked lobster feasts a couple of nights.

The home was clean and the upstairs bedroom and bathroom areas were very comfortable. We met the homeowners when we called to ask if there was a hair dryer in the home. There was not. But, the homeowners, who happened to be in town, quickly rushed over to bring us one. They were always accessible to answer our questions, as well. Great hosts!

My kids loved running around and playing croquet in the backyard. We could watch them from the patio, or the big bay window off the kitchen. As a bonus, there were balconies off two of the bedrooms. And, up on the third floor, there was another balcony with the best view of the water over the adjacent building. My kids loved reading in the third floor room.

The home is not too fancy, so that you'd worry about kids breaking something. The owners mentioned wanting to get some new furniture and I think that would be a perfect update to really bring the home up to first class status.

I found the location of the home to be perfect. It was within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, parks, the harbor … but it was down a quiet street. We had no problem parking two vehicles in the circle driveway, but there was street parking available if you need more. The area felt safe.

Thank you for opening your home to us. We had a wonderful trip.

Owner's Response: Rosalyn, We are truly happy when folks enjoy the home as much as you all did. We have been bringing the house up to that first class level and each year we upgrade a few more pieces. It is a great reason to keep coming back. There will be a new croquet set in the yard from LL Bean when you return! Thanks for being such great guests. Jim

A Perfect Maine Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for 5 weeks as my husband had an engagement in the area. We rented this house because the pictures showed a third floor room and balcony that I could imagine spending my days. It was as wonderful as the pictures and I did spend a fair amount of time in that room.

I had also imagined Maine as cold and rainy in September, but instead we had many sunny and warm days. An added bonus.

The rest of the house was also comfortable. We spent a lot of hours in the kitchen and sitting area, I did crafts at the large dining room table and there was a fireplace for the chilly nights. The kitchen is newly remodeled and has all the needed equipment and dishes. The entire house is large enough for two related families with a number of levels and nooks to sit and read. The Master bedroom and balcony also seem to be part of the remodel and were very generous in size and had the king size bed we were looking for. The other bedrooms looked and felt more like "old Maine" as they were in the part of the house not completely remodeled, Our visitors did enjoy the rooms and their "quaintness". The bathrooms were nicely done and clean and fresh. The outside grill which I used many nights and the cable and internet connections all worked well. The TV and game room are also in a part of the house not completely remodeled. We did not spend much time in those rooms, but as the house was much bigger than our needs we had plenty of other options.

Our time in Maine was like a dream for many reasons, but this house definitely contributed to the dream. If we go back to Maine we would gladly return to this house,

The house was within a comfortable walking distance to town and for the most part, I parked the car and walked to all the things I needed from groceries to drug store to library and of course shops and restaurants. Camden is a small town that has all the things a visitor wants and needs from scenery and boating options to hiking and biking and all with wonderful views.

The owner was very easy to work with and was able to accommodate some schedule changes that we had prior to arriving and during our stay, Any concerns we voiced, were immediately addressed.

Perfect House - Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay! Of all the towns we visited up and down the coast, Camden was by far the best. It has the cutest shops, best restaurants and the location is perfect for making day trips to other towns.

The house is within walking distance to everything. It is well stocked, very clean and more than spacious. The owners are easy to work with – everything went as planned.

Highly recommended!

Camden is located in the mid-coast of Maine where the mountains meet the sea. This village offers every amenity you would want on vacation. From fine dinning to small pubs by the harbor. Driving or hiking to the top of Mt Battie. Dozens of shops for crafts to snacks line the streets around a harbor where historic sailing schooners still ply the waters. A library and parks open up the head of the harbor with grand views. Tour of the expansive harbor by kayak, schooner, or lobster boat. Swim or fish in the nearby lake or golf at some of the best spots on the east coast. Or you can grab a coffee and sit on a harbor bench and watch the boats and people come and go.
