Columbia Falls House Rental Photos and Description

2 Story Home, 5 Bedroom, 2.5 Bath, 10 Sleeps, Two Family Room

Experience Montana the way you have always dreamed of it. Tucked away in a secluded area surrounded by national forest, our cozy custom built home offers you serene beauty and adventure. Relax by the creek that runs year round or go pick huckleberries on one of our many hiking trails. Thirty (30) minutes away from the small vibrant town of Whitefish and and only twenty (20) from Glacier National Park, you'll never be without something to experience. Set on 50 acres, there is a lot of room to roam the outdoors right out the front door! Horses, dogs and a tree fort are also on the property. There is a master bedroom upstairs that has a connecting patio door to enjoy the outdoors from the twin rocking chairs or the hot tub located on the upper deck. There are three bedrooms downstairs sharing a full bathroom. Both the upstairs and downstairs have spacious living rooms that invite conversation and good memories. The open floor plans give you the space you need but the feeling of home you want. Winter time you can cross country ski, snow shoe, snow mobile, or go sledding out the back yard. There is a snow mobile outfit in Columbia Falls that will rent machines and the trial goes up behind Big Mountain one mile up the North Fork road from us. Or you can just stay home and enjoy the quiet serenity of wintertime. With full windows on both sides of the family room, when it snows you feel like you are in a snow globe! We encourage family re-unions as all ages will have something to do. All Holidays are decorated for. As our guest book says - pictures cannot capture the beauty, serenity of our home. Lynn and I and our three children custom built the home.

About Joan

Lynn and I have been natives to Columbia Falls Montana all of our lives. I was born and raised here on our homestead and Lynn moved here when he was 4 years old. We enjoy the outdoors and horse back riding in the Bob Marshall. We and our children built our home as a family which made memories for all of us working as a team creating everlasting memories and work ethics. Which, now that they are on their own thank us for all of the things they were taught. Family is what we want this vacation home to be - for all ages.

Joan purchased this house in 2004

Why Joan chose Columbia Falls

Staying with us you will have no neighbors as you are surrounded by forest service. Cedar Creek runs year round for the relaxing sound, along with a horseshoe & fire pit.

What makes this house unique

Sitting on the front porch hearing Cedar Creek either from the rocking chairs, reclining chairs or the hot tub is soothingr! At night the stars are abundant and the moon is close on a clear night. On hot summer days the porch is always the right temperature to enjoy the outdoors. The home has central air conditioning so all is comfortable at all times.

Dream Wedding In The Woods

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were lucky enough to say our vows at this beautiful slice of heaven in the woods. Words won't even come close to describing our amazing experience with Joan and Lynn. They took the risk of letting us have our wedding with 150 guests at their home, and it far beyond exceeded our expectations. The solitary location of the property was just what we hoped for, private, yet accessible. And it embraces Montana's beauty exactly. The ceremony site by the creek worked out great. Joan and Lynn were so helpful when we needed them, they came right over as soon as we called. But they were respectful of our privacy as well. Our caterer, DJ, and guests had no problem getting to the property. The house is breathtaking and provided plenty of room for our wedding party and guests. Joan and Lynn work very hard to keep their home and land clean. Words and pictures do not do this home justice, and I am honored to have been invited to stay there. We will forever have the fondest memories of this place, as our wedding location and overall good stay. We would highly recommend this location to anyone who is looking for a clean, comfortable, luxurious, and beautiful stay in Montana! Thank you Joan and Lynn for your hospitality and truly going the extra mile to make our stay one to remember forever!!

Great place for our family reunion!!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I absolutely loved staying at Joan and Lynn's beautiful home. Our ages ranged form 4-82 years old, and we all felt happy and comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, and we really enjoyed cooking big family meals. This home is exceptional, and there is plenty of space for a large group to spread out. We really enjoyed sitting on the back deck for coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. With an easy ride to Glacier, and markets, this house is in a great location! We named our new tortoise after the dog, Brick, because my son loved him so much! Thanks for a great Stay Joan and Lynn! Give Brick a pat for us!

This was a beautiful, roomy, clean home. There were ten in our group and we dined in every night. The kitchen was so large and well stocked. We really enjoyed the porch overlooking the creek where we watched the horses grazing and the deer playing. Brick, the German Shepard, came to play fetch every day.Wild turkeys came through the yard. The owners were very nice and helpful and not at all intrusive. We have stayed in many VRBO homes all over the US and this is the nicest. We did day trips and loved coming back to relax. Some in our party just hung out at the house and really enjoyed themselves .The warmth and comfort can't be seen in the pictures, but anyone would would feel at home in this wonderful vacation home.

An incredibly warm and inspirational home -- A rare "once in a lifetime" experience

  • 5 of 5

This is one of those places that you cannot afford to overlook. The house has everything, but I don't want to dwell on that because it will detract from the fact that this is a truly amazing place. When you step into the house, you will immediately begin to feel yourself change -- almost as if you are being transported to another time. You will feel welcome. The warmth of the house will cradle you. Your spirits will brighten. You will know that this is a very special place -- a serene and peaceful place unlike almost any other. You will feel a sense of belonging. This will be your refuge. If you are searching for some special meaning, you can find it in this home.

Joan and her husband, Lynn, will warmly welcome you to this home which they lovingly constructed here in a clearing they carved out of the wilderness. You will see their personal touches everywhere. They love this home, and they are pleased to be able to share it with you. Joan and Lynn live nearby, but you can see as much or as little of them as you desire. They will assist you, but they will not intrude. They are wonderful hosts (and very special people), and you will feel that you are a part of their family.

The house is close to Columbia Falls (about 5 miles north of town) and close to Glacier National Park (about 25 minutes away), but you will feel much more removed from both places. The solitude of the place is remarkable, even though you will be able to hear the muffled sounds of an occasional car or truck passing on Highway 486 (the road out of Columbia Falls). Cedar Creek is right by the house, and the sound of the flowing water will lull you into peaceful reflection. The land on which the house stands is vast, and most of it remains in a virgin and pristine state. The house and the property are almost completely surrounded by national forest lands. The entrance to the house is fittingly special -- off of an old logging road which trails off into the hills west of the house. This entrance is both rustic and romantic -- harkening back to the old west. Time will start to slip away as you pass through this entryway. ... A young german shepard named Brick may greet you and escort you to the house. Three sleek and handsome horses may casually watch you and become part of your welcoming party. ... Time may seem to stand still, in order to permit you to take all of this in. ... You will feel a sense of belonging. This will be your home, and you will have no regrets.

Great spot for a family reunion!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we were met by Joan with a warm Montana hug to the moment we left her home, our family had a wonderful time in Joan and Lynn's vacation rental. The house is spacious, beautifully decorated in "Montana Rustic" style and is immaculately clean. All of the appliances and amenities were easy to use and in top shape. The massive deck overlooked a gently flowing stream that rippled past the house. Although this home feels quite isolated, it was a short 5 minute drive into town for supplies or for the many activities available in the Flat Head area. We were directed to a great place for meat "Perfect Cuts" which were mouth watering on the BBQ. We would highly recommend Joan's home as a great rustic get away destination!
