We spent a week here with our 13 year old grandson. Before arriving, Alison sent us an information packet with detailed suggestions of things to do, placed to eat and how to get there. She and AJ were close by and always willing to answer questions or make additonal suggestions. This property was very comfortable and within walking distance to almost every museum, the Capitol, White House etc. The home was also well stocked for cooking and laundry if needed. We had a great time.
Thank you both for your kind hospitality Alison and AJ.
I wanted something a little more special for a quick trip to Washington DC with my mom and aunt -- both in their 70s -- than an impersonal hotel. This rowhouse more than met the bill. It was in a great location -- close to the metro, restaurants and an easy walk to Capitol Hill and the museum. I highly recommend it for families of all types. Thanks for a great stay!
As a family of five with young children, we seek out places that will serve as our home away from home, a space where we can relax, eat, sleep, and play with comfort. Our time in DC ranks as one of our best family vacations yet, and this home made it possible. The separate sleeping areas gave us the room we needed, and our children enjoyed their spiral stairs and dining room views of Capitol Hill life passing by. With groceries and the nicely equipped kitchen, it was easy to prepare meals and pack picnics. The freezer even included ice packs. Fenced-in Stanton Park was a favorite nearby playground, and the leafy streets made for a scenic walk to the Metro. Alison's local information was spot on, and the only problem was deciding on restaurants - so many good ones in walking distance. Even with a stroller, the walk to the Library of Congress and US Botanic Gardens was easy. Our children have asked to return.
The reviews are all true. We had a fun time exploring new routes to the museums. The Metro, the Harris Teeter grocery store, Bulliten Ted's and the best donuts ever across from the Marine Corp. barracks are truly just a few blocks South or East. Our needs were met quickly and joyfully by Alison and AJ and we are excited at the thought of returning soon.
Thank you again Alison and AJ
This was excellent row home that met ALL of our needs in DC. Alison was wonderful and an excellent
resource of information. The home was well-stocked with everything one could need. It is in an
excellent location for seeing all the sites.
