We are a local family who just loves Asheville!! We bought this home to house our family and friends as life presented itself, absolutely loving the fact that it was right on the lake, with plenty of room for our kids to roam & play, and for us to entertain our friends. It has at different times housed, 3 generations of our family, and many other friends and family sporadically! :-) This home was built to provide welcome and hospitality to all, and to be a place of 'gathering'. We now hope that will hold true for many others as we open up this wonderful place for travelers from near and far visiting beautiful Asheville.
Yonder purchased this lodge in 2010
We chose Asheville to call home, and moved our family here over 10 years ago & have raised our kids here. This is such an amazing location. We get all 4 seasons, but Spring and Fall are the most intense, which is just spectacular! Hollabrook Farms & the lake provide quiet & privacy, the feel of living in the country, while only being 20 minutes from downtown Asheville, and app. 5 minutes to the new Biltmore Park. This is simply a great place to live, and a super place to visit.
This house exudes warmth and relaxation. The minute you drive into Hollabrook Farms you feel the connection with both 'neighborhood' & nature, and the serenity related to all the water & trees. The warmth and welcome of the home overtakes you from the moment you arrive. The house is large & well laid-out, affording plenty of privacy, while also promoting a sense of gathering, and sharing amongst friends and family. The home opens up to allow the views of Hollaman Lake to cascade throughout, creating a calm and serene atmosphere, and calling you outdoors.
Lakeway Lodge was the perfect house for our girls weekend! 16 of us stayed in the house comfortably and the open layout gave us plenty of room to all be together! The property management staff was very responsive when we had questions and very accomodating with our requests. I would definitely stay here again!
My family stayed here during the summer and it was wonderful. My son and husband fished in the little pond in the back, and the property is so beautiful! Big plus for my boys - basketball hoop!! Great place for children, there is an air hockey game that was popular and small toys for smaller children. The screened in porch was perfect for morning coffee, and the kitchen was large and roomy if you have a lot of guests. All the bedrooms are great, and there is plenty of space for everyone to do whatever they want! Thanks for the wonderful accommodations!
We stayed here with our family the week of Thanksgiving. The 5 bedrooms were perfect for our 9 adults and 7 children. The main level has a TV in the living room and a TV on the screened in porch right off the kitchen. This was a wonderful set up for us. When some wanted to watch football while others wanted to watch cartoons or movies, we could easily do this and be is the same general area of the house. Also, the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and utensils. Since this was Thanksgiving, we spent a lot of time in the kitchen and thebspacious layout made it incredibly easy to have 5 people cooking and using the kitchen at the same time. The house is located incredibly close to Asheville, hiking and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Overall, this was a great place for a family ranging in age from 9 months to 85+ years old.
Our family (nine adults, seven kids <5 years old) spent the week of Thanksgiving in this beautiful home. The house is in a newer community and located on a street with a cul-de-sac, so traffic isn't an issue. The backyard is great for families-swingset, fire pit, pond.
From a young kids perspective this place was a blast-sidewalk chalk, balls, scooters, ping pong and air hockey. And this is just in the garage! Inside, there was a whole set of Thomas the Train trains/tracks, toys, books and movies. So awesome.
There was plenty of room for everyone. The home is just as beautiful on the inside, very easy to make yourself at home. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a place to rent near asheville. Thank you!
This house was perfect for our family trip to Asheville for Thanksgiving! We had our whole family there (babies starting at 9mo, all the way up to great grandma at 87). The house was clean and had everything we needed. There were toys and books for the kids, things to do outside, and great grandma was able to sleep in the main floor bedroom which worked beautifully for her. I loved it! Thank you so much for taking care of us!
Let me begin by saying that I have asked my husband probably 100 times this week to build me a house just like this one! Our 16 member family stayed here for Thanksgiving week and had a terrific time. Our group ranged in age from 9 months to 88 years and included 4 generations of the same family. When the 7 children saw the toy closet upstairs and the foos ball game in the garage along with basketball and swing set, they were totally happy. Since we were here for Thanksgiving dinner, there was lots of baking and cooking going on, and we were really pleased with how well equipped the kitchen was. The only thing we needed was a rolling pin, but found that a bottle of Gnarly Head wine worked perfectly for rolling out cookies and noodles! We were even able to get early check in and late check out! Thank you VRBO for being so helpful. We will recommend your services and this house to everyone.
