The house accommodates parties of up to 6 adults, or 4 adults with up to 4 younger children.
Designed by local santa barbara architect David Vanhoy, this light-filled modern beauty is located next to a historic nature preserve (Douglas Family Preserve) and two blocks from the steps that go down to Arroyo Burro Beach.
It was just remodeled in January 2013. Some of the improvements included the installation of ceramic tile flooring throughout the house, new bathroom glass tiles and fixtures, and a steam shower to indulge in a relaxing steam bath in the master bathroom.
In addition it has been furnished anew following a modern aesthetic with focus on simplicity, comfort, and beauty. Some of the furnishings are high quality modern european imports, and some are made by californian artisans using reclaimed materials.
There are examples of Mr. Vanhoy's clever architectural implements throughout the house, like the sliding bathroom cabinets that pull out from behind the master bathroom mirrors. But the main architectural attraction of the house is a breathtaking great room, spacious and flooded with light, with a high ceiling that seems to float above glass walls.
The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms and will sleep comfortably 6 adults or up to 4 adults and 4 children.
In addition there is a tranquil separate office with a view of the front yard, couch, and a desk with an imac.
A lovely backyard with a patio area appointed with a professional grade BBQ and inviting adirondacks adds a final compliment to this beautiful home.
Convenience stores are nearby (within a mile you'll find a shopping square with large organic and gourmet grocery store, pharmacy/drugstore, cafe, restaurants, etc.) the many attractions of downtown and the wharf and harbor area are just a 10 minute drive away. But you come back home to the quiet of this mesa neighborhood and the beauty of its cliffs overlooking the ocean.
