Wow, it is hard to imagine that I am back in NY already writing this review as my family and I did not spend nearly enough time in this awesome place. We loved everything about it. Our family has been fortunate enough to stay in some great luxury resorts and villas across the Caribbean and Europe, but Villa Alexandria is truly one of the best. Ian, the property manager, was fantastic and easy to deal with when it came to booking our stay at the villa and he was the first person we met upon our arrival. My two kids were so eager to check out the place and lay claim to their respective bedrooms (3 to choose between as my wife and I were not giving up the master) that they ran off from Ian’s thorough tour of the house and explanations. My son chose the bunk bed room with the cool airplane fan fixture, while my daughter chose the lower bedroom with its own bathroom.
The house itself, all 4,500sf, was designed for entertaining, relaxing and luxury, with every amenity that one could ask for. The bedrooms all have extremely comfortable beds and plenty of closet space / dressers to unpack all of your belongings. With an open floor plan, the family room was connected to the kitchen area (top of the line appliances and and all gadgets) and it was a great place for us to hang out after dinner and watch a movie or read a book. The large and inviting couch was more than enough room for us to sit comfortably and spend some quality time together. We were thoroughly able to relax.
Our favorite feature of the house was the outdoor pool area where we spent every afternoon from about 3:00pm on until dinner. The pool is large, clean and has a great slide that my kids enjoyed going down (and yes, me too!). It also had a basketball hoop where many games of “horse” were played. Surrounding the pool were several lounge chairs and a large circular cushioned outdoor “bed”, which was my wife’s favorite. In addition, there is a Wolf grill and full outdoor kitchen, which was great to store our late afternoon cocktails. The view from the master bedroom was beautiful and we loved waking up looking at the sparkling turquoise pool.
All-in, this was a great find and we can’t wait to get back there again. I highly recommend Villa Alexandria and hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
