3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths (Sleeps 7)

The cabin was remodeled from its 1976 origins last year so gone is that beloved 70's paneling and extra walls so the whole kitchen - dining - living area flow together; with the original open beam ceiling it has a comfy spacious feel to it. This living area has the deck off of it and it has wonderful southern exposure so there it is light and bright all day long. The view of the Carson Range near Heavenly and the grassy green lawn make this a nice little peaceful refuge.

The space of the house is nicely laid out and it utilizes it well. First floor has one of the bedrooms, full bath and laundry room you can use. Second floor has a 'cozy' bedroom with a pretty ponderosa pine outside its window, plus the large bedroom with the same view of the mountains as from the deck, where you could almost fit a volleyball team. Upstairs you get the vaulted chalet ceiling, and there is another bath with shower.

Kitchen has all new appliances that includes a gas stove (instead of electric!) and, mercifully, a dishwasher. With the granite counter tops and island, plus all the cooking gear and plates you'll need you can get to work cooking up a storm in there should you desire.

There are a couple of bar stools at the island, and the dining table has a leaf so you can expand it to seat 8.

Living room has new efficient wood stove, 46 inch LCD HDTV and DVD player, and some comfortable seating - better than we have at home!

All the bedrooms have clothes closets and new high quality, non-toxic mattresses made in the US. The big bedroom has a small (32 x 48') Foosball/multi game table and a 37 inch LCD HDTV.

The first place I backpacked in California was in the Desolation Wilderness, first rock climbing at 90 Foot Wall, and up near Luther Pass south of here is the first place we camped out with our daughter (at 4 months). We love it up here and have been coming for years, bringing visitors and family along.

Great central location in a beautiful quiet neighborhood. No ugly power lines! Just up the street you can walk or ski into the Upper Truckee Marsh Conservancy area and make your way to the lake or the Tahoe Keys. The South Lake Tahoe Bike Path passes through here a few blocks away. Its about a 10 minute bike ride to go 3 miles up to Regan's Beach. Located Between the 'Y' (US 50 and 89) and Stateline (Casinos), the great City of South Lake Tahoe Recreation complex is a few miles away and has a swimming pool, basketball courts and weight room. The Bijou Community Park is near the recreation center located on Al Tahoe Blvd, and it has a Free Frisbee Golf Course, skateboard park, and many other features. Nearby also is the year round South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena. Emerald Bay and excellent day hiking and backpacking into the Desolation Wilderness is only 10 miles west. Grover State Park and the year round Hot springs, our favorite, is only 30 miles.

Immaculately clean, quaint little cabin.

Our family stayed for just under a week. Myself, my husband, our two girls (2 and 6), my mother and grandmother in law. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The cabin has been beautifully remodeled and is very clean. We were all so happy with our stay! We will definitely return!

Great Getaway Cabin!

This cabin is amazing! First of all, the owner was extremely detailed and organized with his pdf instructions he sent via email. My family and I didn't have any issues at all getting to the cabin and during our 2 nights stay. The cabin was nice and cozy. The pictures on this website look good but the actual place is even better! We can't wait to come back over the summer for another family getaway!

Lovely, cozy chalet

I rented this chalet with a group of friends over President's Day weekend and we were absolutely delighted with the place. It was the perfect size for our group of 5 (a group of more than 6 might feel a little crowded here) and I imagine that it would work really well for a set of 3 couples with its 3 separate bedrooms.

The pictures didn't do it justice (maybe the lighting?). The chalet is bright, airy, and warm. Everything felt new and clean -- and the woodland themed bedrooms made the place feel cozy and charming. The kitchen is set up with cooking ware and dishes, which made it really easy to make meals. We picked up groceries from a nearby Safeway and had most of our meals at the chalet.

The property manager was super-responsive. I especially appreciated his thorough Google doc that documented all the check-in and check out details along with helpful troubleshooting tips for their TV, Internet, and other amenities.

Definitely hoping to come back soon!
