ADORABLE NEW HOME-ALL OF NATURE AT YOUR DOOR-GLACIER NATIONAL PARK

East Glacier Park House Rental Photos and Description

New and Adorable. This charming location and very attractive house are one and a half miles west of town on a 20 acre property in the Glacier Acres Development. It is nestled on a pine forested hillside with views from the second floor deck of the spectacular Glacier Park Rocky Mountain Front. This is a comfortable and cozy house with lots of big windows, giving you the feeling that it is naturally connected with the wilderness all around. There are two beautifully furnished bedrooms upstairs, one with a queen bed and one a master bedroom with a king bed and a sliding glass door going out onto the second floor balcony. Some visitors have enjoyed lounging on the deck furniture, sipping their morning coffee, while watching wildlife and listening to all of nature. The full bath with a tub/shower combination is also upstairs, the half bath is downstairs. The living room with its vaulted ceiling and unique furniture and decorations has a queen hide-a-bed couch, large flat screen satellite TV with DVD player and large selection of videos. The complete kitchen has everything including a breakfast bar and dining room table. Other highlights are the stack-able washer and dryer, plush beds and bedding, flat screen TVs in each bedroom, artistic log railing going upstairs and a view out the upstairs windows of the forest floor. There are two decks on the first floor, one with a barbeque. Linens are included and a free continental breakfast.

For hikers and nature lovers, casual or serious, just walk out your front door. Wildlife is all around, elk, deer, moose, abundant birds and small animals. A short climb to the top of the ridge behind the house earns a beautiful panoramic view of Glacier Park, the town of East Glacier Park and the foothills rolling out onto the prairie. Walk a little farther and you're in the defacto wilderness of the Badger Two Medicine area of the Lewis and Clark National Forest.

One mile away are the restaurants, shops, golfing, hiking trails, bus tours, horse riding, car rentals, Amtrak Station, churches, library and all other services in the town of East Glacier Park. East Glacier Park is the gateway town to the spectacular east side of Glacier National Park, where a full range of recreational opportunities await. Short rides will take you to magnificent scenery, wildlife viewing, boat rides on mountain lakes, hiking trails, picnic areas, sunsets, sunrises and alpenglow in the Two Medicine, St. Mary's and Many Glacier Valleys. Going to the Sun Highway, one of the most famous roads in the world, follows up St. Mary's Valley, over the Continental Divide surrounded by breathtaking vistas of snow capped peaks, mountain glaciers, circ lakes and the Garden Wall. Grizzly bears, mountain goats, mountain sheep, elk and moose are commonly seen right from the road.

The Park offers guided nature walks and evening programs at many locations. Lots of restaurants, shopping, information centers and other services are available all along the way. At the end of your day relax on your deck in the cool fresh mountain air. Nightlife can be found in town for those so inclined....House sleeps a maximum of six.

Our dream is to build four houses, one for each of our children's families and then one on top of the ridge for us. This is the first of our dream houses to be completed and we call it 'Baby Bear One.'

I came to East Glacier Park for the first time in 1986 with my two sons, 5 and 7 years old. I waited tables at 'Luna's Restaurant' which used to be called 'The Thimbleberry' and at the Summit Station on Marias Pass. We hiked and played all over the Park by day and I waited tables by night. Every year I returned to Detroit until I graduated with my teaching degree. My dream has now become my husband's dream too and our passion. We planned 'Baby Bear One' for two years and now that it has become a reality we are working on the second one.

We are excited to share this beautiful place with our 7 kids, family and friends. We hope you have a wonderful time here full of inspiration, fun and adventure and we hope you enjoy 'Baby Bear One' as much as we do.

BABY BEAR, A GREAT PLACE TO STAY!

  • 5 of 5
We really enjoyed our stay at Baby Bear. It's a great private, comfortable home base to explore Glacier National Park. A lot is within reach, Two Medicine entry to park only 10 min drive, St Mary and West Glacier at little under and hour away, and Many Glacier just a little over an hour. Four of us were very comfortable in Baby Bear. It was great to have the full kitchen to make breakfast before a day of hiking, exploring and be able to make dinner in the evenings. The baby bear has a lot of windows to enjoy nature from inside. The decks were nice, very enjoyable in the early morning. Much of the time not usable due to the misquitos. We wondered if a bug zapper or out door ceiling fan might help. The smell of the water took some getting used to. We drank only bottled water. I look forward to returning some day to explore and hike more!

BEAUTIFUL HOME IN EAST GLACIER AREA

  • 4 of 5
After looking in vain for a hotel or lodge on the eastern side of Glacier National Park that would satisfy my family's discriminating taste, I found this vacation home. It is just as pretty as in the pictures! The home is beautifully furnished and Randy & Deseree are very diligent hosts. We had a bit of trouble with the water supply but Randy was very persistent and got that fixed fairly efficiently. My only (minor) negatives for this property were (1) no Internet and very poor phone service coverage (2) no curtains in the den so if you use the fold out bed, it will be bright until about 10 pm and the sun comes up very early too. If I were more familiar with GNP hiking attractions, I would have looked for a place closer to Many Glacier. Since it was a bit of a drive, we settled for a local attraction: horseback riding on the Indian reservation. The guides were great and we enjoyed it...but because of the hour-plus drive back up to Many Glacier, we skipped some of the famous east glacier hikes.

AMAZING VIEWS!

  • 5 of 5
Just returned home from this stunning cabin. Thoroughly enjoyed all of the amenities and beauty of the house. Hard wood every where, lots of outdoor seating, and wonderful views of the wildlife. We really felt like we were in the woods even though its just a minute off the highway. Also enjoyed the comfy king sized bed with what felt like a padding of fluff on top. The managers, Randy and Desirae, were extremely pleasant, knowledgable of the area, and provided great recommendations of what do on a rainy day. Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return again.

INCREDIBLE PLACE!!!

  • 5 of 5
Two friends and I stayed in this cabin for a hiking trip in Glacier and it was fantastic!
We arrived late on the first night, and Desiree and Randy had it completely ready for us, with the lights on and toasty warm! It was immaculately clean and super comfortable.
Desiree and Randy were great - super helpful and very welcoming. I would stay here again and again!
