CITY CENTRE COTTAGE THAT SLEEPS 5, PRIVATE AND CLOSE TO EVERYTHING.

Brighton & Hove House Rental Photos and Description

3 bedroom with roof terrace, back and front outdoor space built in 1813

Brighthelm Cottage was originally built in 1813, just before the Brighton Pavilion was redesigned. A private pathway leads to this quaint cottage which has a wealth of original features and character. The front area of the house is private and off the busy streets of the lanes. Low ceilings with wood paneling in the hall and slightly uneven floors give the place total charm. The ground floor has lounge/dining area which leads to a newly fitted light and airy kitchen. French doors lead out to a back courtyard garden. On the first floor there is a doorway that leads to the roof terrace which gets sun all day. Next to the roof terrace is the bathroom with bath and shower, and first double/twin bedroom. Up a second flight of stairs you get to the top single bedroom facing the back and double bedroom facing the Brighthelm park. You almost feel you are in the country side with all the greenery and trees around. Under the house is a cellar which can be accessed from the lounge.

Recommended Restaurants: Just walk out of the cottage gates and within moments you are close to the restaurants and bars - all are very good

Recommended bars: There are so many bars and different styles of drinking establishments you will be spoiled for choice. The cottage is so central that all are walking distance. No need for taxi's.

Recommended to do: See the Royal Pavilion - left out of the cottage and down the hill

Have an fish and chips and an ice cream on the beach - Queens road and walk down to the promenade

Shop in the Lanes - left out of the cottage down the hill then to the left is the North Lanes and the right is the Lanes.

I have stayed in this cottage for the second time this year and i have already booked it for next year this cottage isin a great location in Brighton, it has everything you need for a lovely holiday, and is very clean you can smell the clean bed linen as soon as you walk up the stairs, it is close to all the shopping center & high street,It is close to all the lanes and all the lovely restaurants. We ate at Fishy Fishy (Dermot O Leary's) Fish Restaurant Amazing, And we went for afternoon tea at the Grand very nice, (not to expensive either) and right on sea front great excuse to dress up, And when we we just looking for cheap but filling their is a big witherspoons right down the hill on the corner and the food is very good we had breakfast and evening meals and all were very good price and taste , i will always recommend this property to family friends any one eles that asked and i would never stay anywhere eles in Brighton and i go every year , it is a real home from home and the owners customer service is second to none and her caretaker lives next door and he can never do enough for us anything we ask he is always happy to help

Beautiful cottage in a perfect location, very close to the beach and shop and also ideal for visiting London as the train station is just a few minutes' walk away.

Very well maintained, very clean, kitchen equipped with everything.

Very friendly property managers - thank you very much for everything!

We would thoroughly recommend this cottage to everyone.

PERFECT HOLIDAY HOME

  • 5 of 5
A lovely little house in a central location. Close enough to the shops, lanes and beach front without hearing the noisey night life.
The house was clean and tidy with spare bedding and towels provided, along with everything you would need.
The decoration of the house is modern and simplistic.
We had a problem with the heating, but the manager was easy to get in touch with and fixed the problem for us right away.
The balcony and back courtyard was a brilliant extra to the house to have breakfast in the sun.

The only constructive criticism would be that there was no lock on the bathroom door, shower curtain or blind in the bathroom. One of these would be nice for privacy when showering as the bathroom window is level with the balcony.

But all in all, very good value for money and would stay again!

WEEKEND IN BRIGHTHELM COTTAGE

  • 4 of 5
Me, my husband and 3 children under 6yrs stayed in Brighthelm Cottage for three nights during a weekend break. The location was perfect for our needs; a few steps away from the shops; not too far to walk to the seafront; but not in an area where we were disturbed in the evenings by the noise of the night life. The cottage was clean, tidy and was lovely and warm. There was the availability of a travel cot and highchair on request for our youngest which was ideal. There was a secure outside space to the rear of the property as well as a secured front entrance which we found ideal as safety for our children was paramount. I Would highly recommend Brighthelm cottage for families as well as other travellers. Thank you Jackie.

Stayed with my family i.e. my ex and 2 grown up boys. Had everything we needed. Lovely cottage as described, good communication, helpful & friendly neighbour. Managed to park right outside when I needed to, meter expensive but free 6pm-9am. Close to sea, Lanes and High St. We had a great time.
Would return and recommend

The property was exactly as described and the photos gave a fair impression of the cottage. The location is good being in the very centre of Brighton but the property benefits greatly in it's overall aspect by being next to an open space. It is within 5mins walk of the Pavillion and sea front. Shops and restaurants are all around.
The property was clean and well kept. The furnishings are really nice and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with crockery and utensils.
The owner,Michael lives in the other half of the cottage so is on hand if needed. We were made to feel very welcome.
Parking is a problem but nowhere in Brighton is easy. We were able to find street parking about 20 min walk away.
The outside areas were welcome as we had such hot weather whilst we were there. The lower courtyard garden could do with a bit of a tidy up and could be made into a really nice area. We could not use the roof area because our 93 year old mother could not climb out through the window!
These comments should not be read as criticisms merely observations. we had a really nice time there and would thoroughly recommend it.
