It's been a couple of months ago, but I want to give a short review of Lisa's house. When we arrived we were a tad concerned about the neighborhood. New Orleans has pockets of problem areas. As the week rental went by, we realized it was OK and the location was within walking distance of many varied attractions.
The house was large (actually a converted duplex) and clean and worked for our five couples plus two young kids. Two couples have their own baths and the other three couples have to share one full bath and a half bath. Not a big deal. We had a problem with the TV and Lisa promptly came by and helped us. The upstairs was perfect for the parents with the two kids... big and with TV's.
I'd stay there again and the owner, Lisa, was helpful with suggestions and explanations.
Having lived in New Orleans, we knew of the general location in the Garden District. But this house is close to everything: coffee shops, Juan's Flying Burrito, Igors, etc. Magazine is a short walk, and St. Charles is even closer. The neighborhood is really safe and the neighbors were all really nice. The house itself was huge and had plenty of New Orleans charm. Lisa was very accessible when I texted her. I would highly recommend this house to anyone.
Our stay at Lisa's Lower Garden District home was perfect. Not only was Lisa an extremely gracious host, but the home was well kept and perfect for a large group. The location is ideal for exploring the entire city as it's just a block away from the streetcar, which can take you downtown or uptown, and its distance to Magazine street shops/restaurants/bars made for a perfect way to explore on foot as well. We had a group of 11 and everyone was perfectly comfortable with the accommodations. The common areas are also just the right size and set up for a large group to be able to hang out together in. I would highly recommend staying at Lisa's home and will definitely stay there again if I return with a group.
Lisa's house was the cornerstone of our trip! The beautiful double home is recently redone-- but has maintained the elements of its original architecture through the wide-planked hardwood floors, iron work, and large rooms. The photos of this listing do NOT fully illustrated the beauty of this property, as it is is 10 times more charming, open, bright, and full of worldly artwork and furniture, than you can see online. The kitchen is HUGE and there is ample room for a buffet for a group. Walking distance everywhere: Magazine St. and French Quarter, minutes from the Street Car on St. Charles. I would recommend this property to art and architecture lovers who like to walk and explore a city. The rooms upstairs are huge, and could easily sleep another bed or two. Lisa was a great hostess and recommended some great restaurants and shops that we enjoyed. I will never forget the amazing trip our group had in this house!
We rented this lovely, updated home in the Garden District to attend a family wedding. The second floor is perfect for a family with young children and the older relatives have privacy downstairs. The location is just blocks from the streetcar, shopping, etc. The owner is very helpful.
