Bill and Sally Wells are the owners of the property and live nearby. Sally grew up on the property. Bill is a native of Upper St. Clair, PA and moved to WV in 1981 where he worked as a mining engineer. After living in several different states, we moved back to Fayetteville in 2012.

Bill Wells purchased this lodge in 2007

Sally's father built the house in 1955. We both love the outdoors and have vacationed here for many years. We were fortunate to be able to purchase the property for a weekend getaway in 2007. In August, we moved into a newly built home on the property. During construction of the new house, the original house was completely remodeled as a vacation rental.

The property contains 23 mostly wooded acres that are shared by the Ramsey Mountain Lodge and our residence. The house is secluded but is a short 20 minute walk into downtown Fayetteville where there are many unique restaurants, shops and pubs. The stonework on the house was completed by skilled Italian stone masons whose work can be seen throughout Fayetteville. The house has a roomy interior with hardwood and tile floors, stone fireplaces with gas logs, granite counter tops, hardwood paneling and many other features. A pool table is located in the finished basement and a stone fire pit and horseshoe court are in the yard. The house is located on the edge of the plateau and the view from the front porch is of the valley below and the adjacent mountains. The back porch overlooks an orchard and vineyard. Fruit grown on the property includes apples, peaches, plums, cherries, grapes, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and many more. One of our hobbies is wine making and we get all of our fruit from the backyard orchard and vineyard. The house is an excellent location for mountain biking or hiking. The National Park trail heads are only a few miles away.

THE PLACE TO STAY IN FAYETTEVILLE

  • 5 of 5
This was the perfect place for our group of eight to get away for the weekend. It is minutes from restaurants and stores and only 7 minutes from where we went to raft. Yet it is secluded for some peace and quite. It had fully stocked kitchen, great grill, and an awesome fire pit. From day one of the booking, Bill was extremely helpful and answered any questions, be it about the house or about what to do in town. They even stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed after we got to the house. Our group only stayed for the weekend but we all wished we could have stayed for a week.

EXCELLENT PLACE TO STAY

  • 5 of 5
We are group of friends from cincinnati who came to Fayeteville, west virginia for wild water rafting. We searched the vacation home online and got it booked. Right from the booking till the time we left the vacation house, BILL(the owner) was very much helpful in suggesting us tips for rafting to places to visit. The vacation home is as is as shown in the listing. Everything is neat and tidy. It spacious enough to accomodate our group. Every one in the group enjoyed the stay over weekend. Bill was also kind enough to share his contact information in case of any need. He gave us the directions to the vacation home and everything was set up for our arrival. Thank you Bill and family for letting us stay at your place. We are certainly looking forward to rent the place again when we visit westvirgina.

Highly recommend the vacation home to any one.

Thank you.
Raghu.

What a lovely time was held in this perfect place. Fayetteville was chosen as the place we wanted to gather, not for the adventure, but for the amazing restaurants in the
area. Come meal time we had a hard time leaving because we were all enjoying that great backporch and our time together. Two great nights at the fire pit sitting around, talking with the stars over our heads and a flame for out fannies. We were all impressed with this home and with Bill and Sally. Thank you for a wonderful relaxing place to stay and enjoy the company of dear friends.

GREAT EXPERIENCE

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful experience at this house with a group of 11 friends. The house is clean and spacious and is secluded from the main road and neighbors. We had a blast using the fire pit and playing on the lawn. The homeowner was responsive and great to deal with, and even stopped by with delicious banana bread to welcome us. We would stay here again and we recommend it to anyone.

AWESOME WEEKEND WITH THE FELLOWS!

  • 5 of 5
This was a great place to stay for me and my 8 buddies! My friends and I are all about 30 years old and we found that there was a perfect mix of outdoor activities and affordable yet interesting restaurants/bars within walking distance. On the property there was plenty of room for horseshoes, bocce, and corn-hole as well as a new fire pit for the evening times... Not to mention there are also innumerable world class climbing and paddling spots super close to Fayetteville along with about every other outdoor sport you've ever heard of.

I contacted the owner after we arrived because we had some questions about the house and what to do in the area. Truth be told we had not planned out much besides renting the house. The owner is extremely knowledgable about what to do around Fayetteville including how to get from A to B. The house was immaculate, very comfortable, secluded, and with plenty of space. Beautiful home. Beautiful people. Beautiful scenery. Beautiful town. Couldn't have asked for more!

CANADIAN ON WAY TO HILTON HEAD

  • 5 of 5
We had three families traveling from Canada to Hilton Head and this was our half way stop. It was excellent! - very clean and comfortable. It was just like coming home. There was everything we needed and the owners were very friendly. The cost was pretty equal to us all getting hotel rooms for the night and we were all able to be together. I highly recommend this place.
