About Bill Wells
Bill and Sally Wells are the owners of the property and live nearby. Sally grew up on the property. Bill is a native of Upper St. Clair, PA and moved to WV in 1981 where he worked as a mining engineer. After living in several different states, we moved back to Fayetteville in 2012.
Bill Wells purchased this lodge in 2007
Why Bill Wells chose Fayetteville
Sally's father built the house in 1955. We both love the outdoors and have vacationed here for many years. We were fortunate to be able to purchase the property for a weekend getaway in 2007. In August, we moved into a newly built home on the property. During construction of the new house, the original house was completely remodeled as a vacation rental.
What makes this lodge unique
The property contains 23 mostly wooded acres that are shared by the Ramsey Mountain Lodge and our residence. The house is secluded but is a short 20 minute walk into downtown Fayetteville where there are many unique restaurants, shops and pubs. The stonework on the house was completed by skilled Italian stone masons whose work can be seen throughout Fayetteville. The house has a roomy interior with hardwood and tile floors, stone fireplaces with gas logs, granite counter tops, hardwood paneling and many other features. A pool table is located in the finished basement and a stone fire pit and horseshoe court are in the yard. The house is located on the edge of the plateau and the view from the front porch is of the valley below and the adjacent mountains. The back porch overlooks an orchard and vineyard. Fruit grown on the property includes apples, peaches, plums, cherries, grapes, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and many more. One of our hobbies is wine making and we get all of our fruit from the backyard orchard and vineyard. The house is an excellent location for mountain biking or hiking. The National Park trail heads are only a few miles away.
