We have always appreciated Ogden's east bench neighborhood, this home's unique floor plan is very appealing, specifically as a vacation rental.
Access to over 100 miles of trail on the BST (Bonneville Shoreline Trail) by foot. Easy access to events in downtown Ogden, shopping, dining, nightlife. Very quick scenic drive to all three Ogden Valley resorts, and easy access to freeways with drives of less than an hour to both Park City & Salt Lake.
Great house for a large group with plenty of beds and space for 10 of us. We felt like the pictures on the website misrepresented the actual space but we went with it and had fun.
Overall the house worked for us.
This house was a good value with lovely back patio and lots of places for people to sleep. However there are many things I would suggest changing to make it better. We had 5 adults staying in the house in the winter and found the following challenges that could be easily fixed. We barely had enough towels provided (I think we had 6 bath towels, 1 hand towel, no wash clothes and 2 kitchen towels in total), had only enough dishes to wash them after every meal, and were one chair short for the 5 of us to eat together at the cafe height dining table. The blanket situation was odd - no blankets on our bed, a collection of things that looked like they needed to be covered with a duvet, and something that looked like an old mattress pad. We had to keep the heat turned up all night long but the downstairs bedroom was still very cold. Upstairs the beds and furniture were okay but the one bedroom really needed different drapes. It was a bit like having blue sheer curtains - we could see everything happening outside when we had the lights turned off - and I'm going to guess you could see everything inside when we had the lights turned on. We never did get the wi-fi to do much more than crawl along - even when only one of us was using it. All in all it was a good value - but could have been much more.
The house worked out fine, but the previous renter left things in a mess. Couldn't find remote controls, sat tv was not available, so only DVD's would work, had difficulty contacting the owner to get things resolved and most disappointing is that we have not been refunded our deposit. Contacted the owner via text after cleaning and leaving and his report was that "The house looks amazing!", so not sure why we have not received our deposit. I would raise my rating to good based on having a place where we could get all our kids together and have fun, the skiing was great, but had issues mostly due to a previous renter and not the owner. So I would raise it to good if we ever get our deposit back...
The house was just what we wanted. Our daughter got married and we had several family members that came from other states and this house fit our needs perfectly. The bedrooms are good size and the beds comfortable. The living room fit all (7) of us nicely. And let me talk about the gas fire pit! We stayed by it as much as we could. It is an older house but that's where all the charm comes from. We will definitely be looking to rent it again on our next trip out. It's not far from grocery stores, eateries and anything you want to do. We didn't cook but the grill in the back looked awesome. It was great working with the owners, too. They are extremely nice! Yes, a definite return is in order.
This property was as advertised but it was so much more! The floor plan is such that each part of house seems to take on character and privacy of it's own!!!! It is very roomy but not lost space. Our party attended a convention in town and found this property close to convention and recreation/shopping. Not only would I recommend it to family/friends but I hope to be there next year! The backyard is a haven of serenity and beauty.
The layout of the house was perfect for us. We really enjoyed our stay the house was perfectly situated not far from anything. The only negatives was the house was a little rough around the edges (not overly clean) and as we arrived late at night perhaps a few essentials in the fridge would of been handy but that is just me being picky. The house was good value for money.
Our location on the East Bench of Ogden (above Harrison Blvd.), provides majestic mountain views within walking distance of Ogden's fantastic trail network (5 blocks). In addition, you are two miles from Ogden's budding culinary and shopping scene. With a 30 minute drive to Snow basin (which can be hiked 10 miles up the backside via Taylor's canyon), 37 minutes to Powder Mountain, and 37 minutes to SLC International Airport, this quiet neighborhood provides easy access to everything. In addition, you are less than two blocks from the neighborhood coffee/pastry shop.
