CASITA BONITA: ROMANTIC, IMMACULATE AND CHARMING!

Taos Condo Rental Photos and Description

1 BR, 1 BA Condo With Master Suite In A Great Location With Mountain Views

Casita Bonita is quintessential Southwestern Charm. Your haven in the high mountains is beautifully appointed, completely furnished, with a new Simmons Beautyrest Pillowtop Queen Bed for a delightful night's sleep including a hand-crafted folk art headboard. While this romantic casita is perfect for a couple, it can sleep up to 4 with a marvelously comfortable, brand new American Leather Comfort Sleeper TemperPedic fold-out love seat. We included all of the things that we look for when we are traveling. Most-importantly, an ultra comfortable bed with brand new, high thread count linens in an immaculate and beautiful environment. Plush and cozy furniture throughout. Handcrafted dinette set for 4 and artistic surprises in the nichos and on the walls. Artwork ranging from world-renowned iconographer Father Bill McNichols to original paintings from other local artists and a navajo corn-maiden weaving. This home will feel like your home from the moment you walk through the front door. Southwestern architecture in the adobe style with soft, sensuous walls catching the light from the bright south-facing bay window. Crank-out windows allow for sweet mesa breezes. New Mexican-style saltillo tile throughout with radiant-floor heat to keep you warm in the winter. The kiva fireplace in the living room provides warmth and cozy, romantic ambiance. High vaulted ceilings with beautiful white-washed vigas giving this open design a spacious feel. The master suite is heaven with a private courtyard right out the sliding glass door in the bedroom. You can enjoy your coffee at the outdoor cafe-style table for two while watching the sunrise over Taos Mountain. You will also find a gas grill for barbecuing. Large walk-in closet with shelves, plenty of space and wooden hangers and a hand-crafted dresser so that you can feel right at home. The state of the art kitchen is roomy, open to the living and dining areas and will please the culinary traveler as well as the visitor who appreciates a comfortable place to cook. Complete and brand new set of cookware, dishes, brand new appliances, including gas stove and all of the cooking utensils to prepare your snacks for the trail or a nice meal returning from your adventures. The flatscreen tv is delightfully tucked away in a sage green trastero for your convenience along with a dvd player, a dvd library and books for your enjoyment. Savor unparalleled sunsets from this gorgeous location and watch the famous light dance across the Sangre de Christo mountains. Casita Bonita is perfectly located in between Taos and the Taos Ski Valley for all of your sightseeing and outdoor adventures. After a day of museum-hopping or ridge-top viewing, enjoy the deep Jacuzzi tub. Casita Bonita was lovingly designed, furnished and appointed for your pleasure and with the hope that you'll want to return again and again. An information book with our favorite picks, sights, restaurants and even a few quirky tidbits included. We are long-time residents of Taos and delight in sharing it. The community grounds include water features, aspen trees, lilac and plenty of shade. For nature lovers, make sure to watch for red-tail hawks, coveys of quail, wily coyotes, occasionally buffalo across the street on Pueblo land and always a plethora of bunnies and jack rabbits. The hummingbirds love to visit and we'll make certain to always leave plenty of feeders and sugar. The grounds are colorful, verdant and well-maintained. The views to the west will amaze with a clear shot of Georgia O'Keefe's beloved Pedernal Mountain. The smell of sweet sage will send you to sleep each night, rested and ready for your next adventure. Welcome to Casita Bonita! We hope you love it as much as we do! We are happy to talk to you about any further questions that you might have. In a few words, this casita feels happy, will make you happy and will offer you all of the comfort and amenities you would want on your enchanting vacation.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Casa Bonita is very aptly named. It was beautiful, with colorful art everywhere and a very nice floorplan with lots of famous New Mexico light coming from the skylights (thoughtfully, no skylights in the bedroom). The large bedroom was a dream, with a walk-in closet and separate areas for a desk and a seating area. The bed was luxurious, with quality bedding. I slept so well when I was there! I really loved the radiant floor heating coming from the saltillo tiles. The house was also super clean. Heather was very helpful and friendly and totally on top of the communication throughout the whole process, which I really appreciated. The house was very conveniently located, close to Taos but away from the hubbub, and super quiet. It was nice having our own private back patio; if the weather had been warmer I would have enjoyed hanging out there. Well, there is always next time. We loved Taos, and we will definitely be back.

Sweet Casa!!!

  • 5 of 5
We went to Taos to help our daughter paint her new house so it was exhausting. It was just wonderful to come home to Casita Bonita to re-energize and relax after a hard day's work. Felt like being home without the long drive. The soft colors, quality construction and fun art provided that "ahhh" factor. Everything we needed was there and we even tried out the new sofa bed which was firm but much higher quality than sofa beds I have slept on in the past. Mountain views from the LR and rear patio. Nice landscaped walking trail with water feature in the complex. Birds singing. Very quiet inside for sleeping. Wonderful coffee beans/grinder for that fresh cup first thing in the morning.

I must also mention that we so appreciated our ability to do a 2 night stay (rare on VRBO) and last minute booking. Our trips to Taos tend to be short and sporatic. What a relief not to have to stay in a typical hotel just because we don't fit the profile of a typical vacationer.

This casa is just SWEET!!!! We have already recommended it to extended family.

Comfortable, pleasant; great place to stay

  • 5 of 5
What can I add to the previous rave reviews? Only this: believe them. This is a clean, comfortable, quiet, extremely pleasant rental unit. It is well furnished and has plenty of room for two (if you plan to sleep anyone in the living room, try other reviews for advice; we have no experience with that). All of the appliances are up to date and functioning well. The location was perfect for us; it would not work well if you are traveling without a car. The owner was very helpful. My security deposit was refunded within hours of checking out. We have rented larger units and we have rented units that are absurdly luxurious. But we have not been more comfortable anywhere and we have not found a better value than this. We have family in the area, and we will certainly stay here again on future visits.

Taos charm and more

  • 5 of 5
The perfect place to stay in Taos. Why? Super location, cute as can be, nicely appointed. Clean, fresh, bright. The bedroom is tucked in back and very quiet for a nice afternoon nap. We especially appreciated all the nice soaps, lotions and shampoo. We felt very at home. We loved this little place and will be back.

Located between the Town of Taos and Taos Ski Valley in one of the most coveted areas of Taos Valley, Casita Bonita is perfect for a stroll or a jog right out the front door through the beautiful mesa with million dollar views in every direction. Skiing, fishing, hiking, shopping and museum-hopping are all just minutes away. Taos Pueblo is the only living Native American community designated both a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and a National Historic Landmark. The multi-storied adobe buildings have been continuously inhabited for over 1000 years. Taos Pueblo is truly unique and a must-see, only a 10 minute drive from Casita Bonita. Less than 10 miles west of the property, you'll find the 10th highest bridge in the US, the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge. Don't forget your camera, the views are incredible! On the way to Taos Ski Valley, make sure to check out the artistic Village of Arroyo Seco which is home to restaurants, shopping and museums. Taos Ski Valley offers an abundance of hiking in the summer, including Wheeler Peak, which is, at 13,167 feet, the highest peak in New Mexico. Whether riding the rapids through the Rio Grande or enjoying a Microbrew and a good book with magnificent views, there's a little something for everyone in Taos. With a long history of indigenous Pueblo culture, Spanish influence, Adobe architecture and wildly creative artists, Taos offers a mix that you won't find anywhere else. If you can't find a way to move here, you'll certainly find a way to come back.
