The other master suite has charming colonial decor with a huge rock and granite wood-burning fireplace and bathroom with dual sinks and rain shower. Both master suites feature king sized beds of the highest quality and comfort available, featuring a full 4 inches of memory foam pillowtop on a supportive orthopedic core. They also include private bathrooms with showers, bathrobes, bowl sinks and granite, plus 32' LED TVs. The third bedroom has a rustic theme with two comfortable twin beds, views and terrace access. All beds feature a choice between 500 thread count cotton or warmer microfleece linens, as well as fluffy down alternative comforters with duvets and blankets. All three bedrooms and the living room feature vaulted ceilings with exposed wood beams. The social bathroom has a glass block shower, toilet, and even a urinal. The gourmet kitchen features gorgeous granite, a dishwasher, 6 burner stove and oven, microwave and large fridge with filtered water and ice in the door. The Living room has a soft comfortable sectional and a 42' LG plasma TV with a huge DVD library and Direct TV HD with DVR and a Blu Ray player. All rooms have DVD players. The entire apartment includes a terrace with unobstructed 6th floor views over centro, including a granite breakfast bar overlooking the impressive icon of Cuenca, the new cathedral.
Our home is cleaned to a strict standard between each set of visitors, and cleaned and stocked according to a checklist, so that you can rest assured that you'll have a wonderful stay free of the common pitfalls of stays in a foreign country. The kitchen is equipped with all of the dinnerware, cookware, silverware and barware you will need, plus small and large appliances. We provide paper towels, sugar, salt, pepper, coffee and tea. The towels are plush and plentiful and we provide thick toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap and blow dryers in each of the three bathrooms. We provide 3 huge flat-screen televisions, one smaller flat-screen TV, all with DVD or Blu Ray players and two with Direct TV HD with DVR, a huge video library, high-speed wireless internet, and even a brand new 17' laptop so that you can leave your computer at home! We also provide a local cell phone and a home phone, if needed for a small fee. The building has an elevator straight to our door that only services 3 apartments, so you won't have to climb any stairs like in most centro homes, or even wait for a busy elevator like in a high rise. The building is very secure with a friendly guard from morning to night. When the guard isn't there, you are behind 3 locked metal doors. The apartment is quiet as it is 5 stories up, with dual-paned laminated glass throughout and no walls are shared with any neighbors. There are just 2 other residences, and the rest of the building is occupied by offices, mostly law offices. If you have a rental car, there is a parking lot next door. If you have more than 6 people, there is an extra double mattress to sleep two more, and a dining room table for 8. For your comfort, all rooms have black-out curtains, there are portable heaters, a wood burning and an electric fireplace, a double electric blanket, and extra pillows and blankets, and unlimited hot water. There is a full-sized washer with hot water and gas dryer for your use. We use only hypo-allergenic fragrance-free detergents.

What makes this condo unique
Our apartment is a unique rental in the historic el centro. It is the penthouse of the tallest building in the area, providing for great unobstructed views, privacy and lots of sunlight. Most buildings the UNESO heritage area do not have elevators, however ours does. We love all of the great nearby restaurants, attractions, shopping and cultural events just steps our out door.
Guestbook comments from the owner
My fiance, along with 2 of his sisters (all of us 50+yrs of age) just came back from paradise. Nanci and I had been corresponding long before we took this trip, so I already felt like she was family. Altho' we didn't get to meet Nanci/Jesse, Bev was there when we arrived and she's terrific. I've moved 34 times in my life, and..not to exaggerate, I never wanted to leave! We all truly felt like we were in "Donald Trump" accomodations. Just to add to what others have mentioned, planes flew by and we couldn't even hear them due to the soundproof windows. The beds/linens/pillows were the best. I probably took 50 pics just of the penthouse. We walked most of the time altho' taxis were readily available right outside our building. We ate at "Bananas" almost every day for breakfast. Parque Calderon right down the street has several restaurants that we frequented. Even tho' we had a top of the line kitchen we ate out every meal except two (when we were taking an early excursion before restaurants opened). This is coming from a gal who doesn't eat out except when her fiance splurges at "Waffle House". :-) It's so inexpensive to eat out in Cuenca, you can't afford not to. We had met a couple in Quito when we visited there for 5 days (I heard him speaking English :-). We made contact w/them when they arrived in Cuenca, and quickly became friends, taking a bus to little villages, eating out, shopping, etc. :-) We invited them over before they left for the airport to head home to Texas. They were so impressed that they wanted me to send information so they can reserve the penthouse next summer. This was our 2nd visit to Cuenca, the city, Lord willing, that we'll be living in asap. We love the people, weather, food, the "family-oriented" atmosphere. This is "Heaven on Earth". We love Cuenca! We plan on a 1-1/2 to 2 month stay in Cuenca next summer to find our little paradise, thanks in part to Nanci and Jesse. :-)
