This 1949 Louis Lancaster designed home, was renovated in 2000 in a Mediterranean style to provide guest quarters and a ceramic artist studio. As an ceramic artist, onsite potter and teacher I find this bit of paradise inspirational.
Wolfgang purchased this apartment in 1983
A beautiful location: fantastic views of gardens and a very well equipped and comfortable apartment. A great place to celebrate our son's graduation as a family.
Thanks-we had a wonderful stay.
This place was amazing. The apartment was large, not at all cramped, plenty of room, with ridiculous views from all windows. The patio was large and inviting, with sun umbrellas, perfect for coffee and a book. There's so much to do in Santa Barbara, so it's saying a lot when I say we really looked forward to go back to the apartment at the end of fun days in Santa Barbara.
I really can't recommend this place enough. For the price, it's a wonderful value.
I've rented many times on VRBO both in the US & abroad and Wolfgang's beautiful villa high above Santa Barbara was among the very best choices my wife and I have made. The views from every room and from the well furnished patio and gardens across the city to the Pacific are unsurpassed--even better than from the 5 star El Encanto resort down the street where we attended a wedding. The villa sits atop on a series of terraced gardens filled with his wife Deana's ceramics, plantings, shaded seating areas and a gas-fired BBQ. The villa itself has a two-sided fireplace that made evenings at home especially cozy, a TV in each living space and a well stocked kitchen and bath. Wolfgang retired from senior positions in the hospitality industry and that was evident by his warm welcome and willingness to assist his guests. When we needed to do two loads of laundry while we were off site, he handled the switch and even folded a few delicate items. Like the goodie basket of treats and essentials such as coffee, bottled water and fresh fruit awaiting us upon arrival, Wolfgang and Deana made sure we felt welcome and well cared for during our time in residence. I'd stay again happily and encourage other travelers to enjoy Villa Luna as much as we did!
We had a wonderful stay at Villa Luna for the best part of February. We enjoyed the stay, the apartment was nice, the patio and gardens were fantastic. Wolfgang and Deanna were friendly and helpful when needed. We love Santa Barbara and will book with Wolfgang again in the future.
I booked this apartment for a month stay and felt totally at home! The apartment has a cozy and peaceful setting. The owner occasionally checked in with me to assure I was enjoying my stay. Gorgeous view of the the ocean and hill terrain both day and night! Will definitely book again!!
Our stay at Villa Luna was great. It was very easy to get in touch with Wolfgang and he replied to our emails promptly. When we arrived he welcomed us and showed us around the apartment. We met his wife Deanna and she told us about Christmas parade to go to (as well as where the playgrounds are and where to park in the downtown). Apartment is nice, clean and cosy and it was supplied with snacks, coffee, teas, bottled water and spices. Bed was very comfortable. Our girls (4 and 6) had a lot of fun on the upper level that overlooked our bedroom. We would like to stay there again!
We loved Villa Luna! It was fantastic to stay up on the hill of Santa Barbara. The view was amazing which we enjoyed from the lovely patio and garden. We will definitely stay here again.
