At Scotch Hall Preserve, you're already on the leader board before you tee off. It is a 7,463 yard championship Arnold Palmer Signature masterpiece and it is right outside your door when you reside here. For all its grandeur, the Palmer Course is as playable as it is scenic.
Just 20 minutes to the northeast of Scotch Hall Preserve is the charming and historic town of Edenton, named the 'Prettiest Small town in the South'. Visit the town's Colonial district of Federal, Greek Revival, Gothic Revival and Queen Anne style homes.
The historic towns of Windsor and Plymouth are also located nearby. King Street, in the heart of the Historic District of Windsor, includes many fine examples of 18th and 19th Century architecture. Just outside of Windsor is Hope Plantation, home to the Hope Mansion, built in 1803 by Governor David Stone and is a stunning example of an academic architectural combination of Federal and Georgian architecture. Plymouth is situated along the Roanoke river where visitors will discover the Port'O Plymouth history/Civil War Museum, The Roanoke River Lighthouse and Maritime Museum as well as shops and restaurants along the riverfront. The North Carolina Outer Banks are just over an hour's drive to the east and offer incredible opportunities for memorable day excursions, world-class off shore fishing and other activities that include tours of the area's historic lighthouses, the Wright Brothers Museum and wild horse adventure tours located near Corolla.
