This luxurious, modern getaway is a cut above. We completely remodeled it in the summer of 2013, with a sophisticated and contemporary, bright and sunny beach elegance. It offers direct views of the ocean and is an easy 100-yards to the sand. No more packing the car and searching for a parking space, and, we provide all the beach gear! It is also an easy 10-minute walk to the Pier Bowl, to T- Street Beach, or to San Clemente’s charming downtown for shopping and restaurants.
Casa Mariposa is uniquely positioned at the opening of our 2.3 mile beach trail, allowing fantastic views of the ocean and of dolphins swimming by, and easy beach access. Enjoy your direct beach view from your large deck, or from your family room, your bedroom, or even from your kitchen sink! It is located in a tranquil neighborhood, perfect for sleep-ins and peaceful evenings. The free flowing, indoor-outdoor feel allows you to enjoy your coffee or BBQ outside, or lounge inside with one of your two new, Smart TV Flat-Screens and Wireless Internet. Sleep tight on your King-Sized Bed which has a Westin Hotel Heavenly Pillow-top mattress, and room for two more to slumber comfortably on your two Euro Loungers in the family room. The kitchen is well-appointed, with granite and all-stainless. The bath features a separate toilet, two vessel sinks perfect for multiple guests, and a deep Euro-style soaker bathtub/shower. Also included are ceiling fans, a fireplace, plenty of storage, an outdoor shower, and an on-site washer & dryer with complimentary use. Free street parking is plentiful.
You can surf or lounge at Mariposa Beach out in front, or wander to any number of the beaches lining San Clemente. Walk south 5 minutes on the beach to T-Street Beach, or world-class surfing at Trestles and San-O is just a 10-minute drive south. At low tide, check out our tide pools in front, which are full of starfish, sea anemones, sea urchins and muscles. Or, spend hours hunting for sea glass. And of course, our beach trail can be explored on bike or on foot. We provide for you:
Foam Stand Up Paddle Boards
Umbrella and Ice Chest

Doug and I (Sheryl) are San Clemente natives, who've spent our entire lives surfing San Clemente. We always wanted a home that is so close to the beach that we could check the surf from our front window, and not have to load the kids and the boards in the car. This dream materialized when we were able to purchase this 4-apartment building in 2000, with incredible decks and ocean views, right at the beach. It's an additional bonus that it is located right at the entrance to the beach trail. We live in one space, and rent the remaining three to long-term renters. Being avid Vacation Rental travelers ourselves, we realized that we could make this unique space available to others of like-mind. So in late Dec 2012, we commenced work and gutted one of our best units, making it a getaway that WE would want to vacation in. Our goal was to create a space that is geared toward a more seasoned traveler, featuring contemporary comfort, and load it with everything we would want in a vacation rental. We are also fortunate enough to own and operate a local's favorite restaurant in town, The Grill, which allows us to provide a homemade, full breakfast for our guests. We hope you like it here as much as we do.
San Clemente is centrally located between San Diego, which is one hour's drive south, and Los Angeles, one hour's drive north.
San Diego attractions include Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, Padres or Chargers games, World Class golfing at Torrey Pines, the cities of Del Mar and La Jolla, and numerous beautiful beaches.
Disneyland is a 40 minute drive north, with Knott's Berry Farm a little further up the road. Or, go to LA for the day and visit Universal Studios or Hollywood, or see the Hollywood sign or go to a Lakers or Clippers game. Or, you can borrow a board and surf Malibu (near LA).
