Casa Mariposa is uniquely positioned at the opening of our beach trail allowing for white water views, and easy beach and trail access. It’s not uncommon to see dolphins swimming by. We are located in a tranquil neighborhood just north of the pier, where you’ll easily blend in with the locals, and are close enough to walk to the heart of downtown in 15 minutes. San Clemente is also uniquely positioned exactly between San Diego and Los Angeles, and each is approximately a one hour’s drive from here. And of course, Disneyland is 30 minutes up the road. Visit these locales for the day, then come home to the beach!
The free flowing, indoor-outdoor design is spacious and bright. View your flat screen TVs while lounging in the family room, or from your king-sized bed with the Westin Hotel’s “Heavenly Pillow-top” mattress. Two more can slumber on the collapsible EuroLoungers in the family room. Custom closets offer plenty of storage, and there’s also a built-in desk. Additionally included are 2 ceiling fans, a fireplace & plenty of storage throughout.
The custom kitchen is fully stocked with appliances and various spices, and includes a dishwasher and restaurant-grade Bertazzoni range. The bath is Jack & Jill style, allowing access from both the bedroom and family room. The toilet is separate from the shower, and each has its own sink, perfect for multiple guests. The bathtub/shower is a deep Euro-soaker, for those who enjoy bubble baths.
Directly in front is Mariposa Point Beach, perfect for swimming, surfing, body boarding, fishing and stand-up-paddling. The wave breaks over a small reef in front, and is typically best for surfing at a medium tide rising high. There are many other surf breaks within a very short walking distance, including T-Street Beach. World-class surfing at Trestles and San-O is just a 10-minute drive south. At low tide, the reef in front reveals star fish, sea anemones, sea urchins, muscles, snails, etc.

SHOPPING AND RESTAURANTS
Our quaint downtown area is only a few walking blocks away, offering stylish boutiques, surf shops, antique shops, and local and international cuisine. There is also a Farmer’s Market every Sunday, offering souvenirs, art, and locally grown organic fruits, vegetables and herbs. Take a short stroll to our pier, where you can take in the sun and ocean breezes, fish, or relax and dine at The Fisherman’s restaurant.

Doug and I are San Clemente natives, who've spent our entire lives surfing San Clemente. In 1999, we purchased this 4-unit condo, that offers spacious decks with ocean views, is a 1 minute stroll to the beach and to our beach trail. Of the four units, we live in one unit, two are vacation rentals and the fourth is home to our long term renter.
Sheryl Leverich purchased this condo in 1999

Ocean view & gorgeous interior, and is VERY close to beach & beach trail, & close to shopping & restaurants.
I think the other reviews say it all. This place is pretty much perfect for a couple. Everything that you could want, was there. The house is modern and clean and on the beach. Sherry was very available to answer any questions. Would absolutely stay here again!
Perfection. Absolute perfection.
We love to cook and the kitchen was SO well stocked, it was incredible.
Ocean breezes, fantastic deck, laundry area, clean as a whistle, clean, stocked bathroom, boards & bikes....there is not ONE thing missing from this experience.
You are plopped right on top of a main beach entrance, so we ran down every night for the sunset....not even 2 minutes down from the house. We LOVED this town and loved this house even more.
This place was ideal for relaxing and creating a temporary home away from home. There was a view of the ocean, a great deck for enjoying a read in the sun or shade, and we only had to cross the street to walk down the access path to the 3+ mile walkway along the coast. It was our morning ritual, after our cup of tea. The San Clemente restaurants were terrific and the kitchen well-equipped. The bed was very comfortable and everything was in top-notch working order.
Getting close to the Pacific Ocean was something we wanted to do, and we couldn't have found a better getaway. We could hear the ocean from the huge deck or from the family room when we had the windows open. So wonderfully peaceful. The unit was perfect--clean and up to date with beautiful furnishings and everything we needed (and more) for our one-week stay. Sheryl and Doug couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Wish we could have stayed longer.
We stayed at this great condo for a business trip and a fun weekend. It has every thing and any thing you could need to cook, go down to the beach or just to hang out on a fabulous deck. The owners take care of the property very well and the view is awesome! We would have no problem staying here for a month.
We travel around the globe for business and always can't wait to get home to sleep in our bed, but here we did not say that. The living room is large and has plenty of room for kids to spread out at night after a long day at the beach. The beach path is straight out the front of the condo just a few feet down the walk way. You can walk to the pier faster then you can drive from here or go to your right and walk to get snow cones at the trail head. It's a great place and will be staying here again .
San Clemente is centrally located between San Diego, which is one hour's drive south, and Los Angeles, one hour's drive north.
San Diego attractions include Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, Padres or Chargers games, World Class golfing at Torrey Pines, the cities of Del Mar and La Jolla, and numerous beautiful beaches.
Disneyland is a 40 minute drive north, with Knott's Berry Farm a little further up the road. Or, go to LA for the day and visit Universal Studios or Hollywood, or see the Hollywood sign or go to a Lakers or Clippers game. Or, you can borrow a board and surf Malibu (near LA).
