Chichester Cottage Rental Photos and Description
2 Bedroom, Bath, Sleeps 4
Welcome to a little magic at Paint the Night Cottage, romantic and cozy and only 11 miles from skiing at Hunter Mountain, and 40 minutes from Bellayre and Windham. Tumble into bed for deep mountain sleep to the sound of our brook singing.
Our wif fi now works perfectly upstairs and downstairs and we just installed on demand hot water so you can relax those muscles in soothing bath after hot bath.
With Hunter Mountain only 10 minutes away, you'll spend most of your time skiing and snow boarding at Hunter Mountain instead of driving to and from... or snow tubing, cross country skiing and hiking.
Our heated tile floor downstairs makes for a warm winter morn.
For a special welcome, whenever I am at the land (I am getting married and are am often in Massachusetts) your first morning with us I will deliver homemade, fresh, complimentary organic muffins from my oven. Otherwise, other special treats will be left for you to enjoy.
Other staples are provided like a good selection of organic teas and coffee, sugar, honey, popcorn and half n' half.
Build a blazing campfire feet from the brook to roast marsh mellows, or grill on the Weber, or for more mystery and fun, cross the brook to an old fireplace. There is acres of kindling to warm the chilly nights with a bottle 'o wine.
Bringing Fido? Our dog fee is plus 50. for one pooch, plus 2 dogs would be plus 75. No cat... sorry... Allergies!
Our fully equipped country kitchen has what you need from bottle opener to blender.
Upstairs, our lovely 'sleep under the stars' bedroom is directly above the brook, with picture window, a great free library of books, skylight, cathedral ceilings, hardwood floors and cable T.V.
For your children or friends, the 'room in the back' (my art studio area) can be rented for plus $50 per night.
This room has a private lockable door and is a comfy, Americana themed space with a double bed, skylight, cedar Armoire and stacks of paintings leaning on walls. We also have a nice selection of children's books.
Minutes from ski slopes and the quaint little town of Phoenicia, (recently voted one of the ten coolest small towns in America). We are half hour from the legendary Woodstock w/ its music events, movie theater and numerous outstanding restaurants to test your will power, plus unique shops.
In addition to skiing at Hunter Mountain, u may want to take a hike up one of our myriad trails behind the house or down virtually any street around here or stroll down a country road and feed horses, tackle Kaaterskill Falls or visit North and South Lake's to take in the view of the Hudson River.
Too cold now for swimming but a short walk from the cottage will bring you to its beautiful deck over the bigger stream across the street, with an adjacent little funky playground, with ancient old style horses on springs for kids, while the river runs rippling over rocks. It a fast and easy stroll from the cottage and soooooo peaceful.
My very gentle giant dog Landseer Newfoundland - St. Bernard, Tallulah, will try to kiss your face, but can also be kept tied up if you prefer.
Paint the Night is a NON-SMOKING dwelling, however, u can smoke down by the end of the driveway, on a rock beside the brook.
