|Minimum Stay||2 - 3 nights|
Two Bedrooms with queen size beds, Jacuzzi tub, Gas fireplace, Large deck and Modern kitchen.
It has been a dream for us that we have raised our kids and lived on the beach for 25 years. We have been building homes here for others, for many years and want to share this one with you!
Michelle purchased this house in 2013
Listening to the waves, while living here is peaceful and scenic.
This was the first time we have been back to the ocean for the 4th of July since my kids were very small, know they are all grown with kids of there own. The house was great. Very clean and comfortable. Could use a few more kitchen items but we made do with what was there. Even though the house is not on the beach the view was perfect. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and enjoying the view of the ocean. This is a place that we will be coming back to. Michelle was great to work with, very quick to respond to all my questions. Looking forward to our next trip to the ocean.
We had the best week this winter staying at Beach Dreams Cottage. I hope to try a stay in the summer. We found a Japanese glass ball float & several sand dollars on our many beach combing days. We also went to the Olympic rain forest for a beautiful day hike. The jetted tub was so nice to relax and soak in after a full day of beach walking and exploring. The beds are heavenly with a stupendous view out of the master bedroom. We will be a regular at our new found beach house in Moclips a very special secret beach! Shhhhhh!!
Sorry about the title. The cottage is awesome, exactly as advertised. It’s so new it even has that “new house” smell. The view is great…looks right out on the beach. Furnishings, furniture, cookware, etc. are all new and high quality, and the bed is super comfortable. Michelle was great to work with, especially given the fact that I booked with just one day’s notice. My only issue was with noise. The first morning we awoke to airbrakes on the semi delivering a front-loader to install a hot tub to the new construction across the street. The next morning at 2am the smoke alarm started chirping every 30 seconds (dead battery). We only had the owners phone number and they were out of town so we waited until 8am to call them rather than wake them in the middle of the night. It got resolved right way (the cleaning lady came out and uninstalled the unit), but at that point we were totally exhausted. Probably would be a good idea to leave the number of someone local who can respond 24x7 in the future. The last morning a worker was using a blower/vacuum in the construction all morning. I would definitely rent the cottage again, but I’d probably wait until the construction across the street is done. Looks like it’s very close. Also be aware that there are very few restaurants in the area. There is a small store with fast food-type stuff and another tavern-type place. We drove to Ocean Shores where there are a lot of restaurants, but I wouldn’t want to do that daily. The area is beautiful and not too populated so that’s really nice. What we really liked was the gas fireplace. Would be excellent for a rainy winter stay.
I seldom write reviews, because honestly most of the time places we stay are just "fine." This house was exactly what we wanted. The drive there made me nervous since you pass through some VERY undesirable places :) However, once we arrived, it was like a breath of fresh air. It was CLEAN (the biggest thing in my book), comfortable (the beds, couch, chairs, everything) and it was simple (not over decorated or cluttered.) The house is one row behind the beach front homes, however, it is at the end of a dead end road so you have the entire view out the side down the coast. I'd say it's a better view than some of the beach front homes. We brought our 1 year old daughter with us and fortunately we brought a baby-gate, since we knew there were stairs. This was a good thing! We also brought a pack-n-play and it fit perfectly in the 2nd bedroom. The kitchen was nicer than our kitchen at home, with an updated microwave and amazing gas stove. I was able to make dinner much quicker than at home! We were happy there was cable tv, but honestly we only had the tv on for maybe 45 minutes in the whole 3 days we were there. There is also wireless internet, to clarify from previous reviews. The jetted tub was amazing and I took a bath every night we were there! It was so quiet. The only real noise was the cars turning around at the dead end, which was a little annoying considering there is a sign that says "no turnaround". Wish they would read! We did go M-W, so it was quite calm and not crowded at all. There were times we were the only ones on the beach! I do suggest bringing Tupperware or at least Ziploc bags if you plan to cook, since there isn't anything to store leftovers in. We have already talked about another trip out there. Thank you Michelle for being accommodating, helpful, responsive and friendly! A++

This was a clean place with the 'new house' smell still -- very clean and inviting. Some 'getting settled' issues that could be addressed: only 4 place-setting are provided and no serving dishes---having a few extra bowls and plates would be great. The house is not facing the ocean.....the view across the street is of a big house that is in the process of being constructed--IT will be ocean-facing. The view to the north from the cottage is the one pictured in the photos and it IS lovely....just not what the front of the cottage faces. We had a great time walking on the beach and watching the rain clouds and sun move through at a quick clip.
Communications were an issue, since our experience didn't match the liisting. There is NO internet at this house---the listing is not accurate. And there was no phone connection for us with t-mobile; ATT doesn't provide service here, either; Verizon is spotty (according to the nice owner of the Moclips store, who let me use their phone). We appreciated the owner making a phone call on our behalf to a family member and stopping by (unannounced) one day.....but installing a land line would be a good idea, as renters should have some way to reach the owners in case of emergency. Also, the HiTide Resort's internet service reaches to the cottage....perhaps the owners could come to an agreement with the HiTide owners to share their service. ?
What an amazing property! It is even more beautiful than the photos. Everything has been thought of and the cottage has such a relaxing classy feel. The location is perfect as well as the views. The owners are so great and answered any questions we had and made the whole process very simple. My friend and I had the best girls weekend... The healing ocean as well as this immaculate cottage are good for the soul, I can't get back there fast enough!
