Everything was perfect!!!....Again

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay in this 2 bedroom apartment in Montmartre, and all I can say is that it was once again...PERFECT in every sense of the word. The apartment is clean, well maintained, and extremely comfortable. Everything you need is there...full kitchen, dishwasher, TV, WiFi, and great phone service. The rental agent, Paula, is a true professional and was once again extremely helpful in making our stay a memorable one. When you arrive, she is there to greet you and will provide you with excellent information to get your holiday off to a great start. The apartment is about a 15 min walk to Sacre Coeur, and located in a GREAT neighborhood (Montmartre-18eme arrondissement) with tons of boulangeries, patisseries, open-air street markets, supermarkets, and fantastic restaurants. It has a true Parisian feel-especially convenient for those who don't want to be "smothered" by tourists. It is located near two convenient Metro lines (12 and 13) and several great Bus lines making it extremely easy to get around Paris. If you have children, the park across the street is especially charming. The neighbors in the building are quite friendly as well. All I can say, is that we really hope to stay there again on our next visit to Paris!

As beautiful as the photos

  • 5 of 5

When I first saw this apartment I thought it was way too good to be true. It was the most beautiful rental for the price I had come across.

Well before our arrival Paula was extremely helpful answering any questions I had and keeping me up to date with the property and rental procedures. She was present at the apartment to greet us and gave us a tour and a wonderful introduction to the neighborhood and tips on getting around.

The apartment itself was beautiful and looked just like the photos. It was very clean and barely looked lived-in. Fresh towels were laid out on our beds- everything was very inviting, especially after a long flight.

The apartment had all the necessary amenities including some condiments and other items like coffee and tea. The kitchen was also well equipped with dishes and cookware (which we utilized often).

The neighborhood was awesome and seemed very safe. There is a market, cafes, boulangerie, post office and much more all within walking distance. There is also a metro and a bus line very close by.

A lot of people would probably prefer to be in the center of Paris which I'm sure would be a lot more expensive. But this apartment is not as far from the touristy spots as you may think. The bus runs fairly often and the metro is extremely efficient- we were able to reach our destinations in under 30 minutes. A cab ride from the Eiffel Tower cost about 15 euro. I actually prefer this location because you get to live amongst locals and get a great feel of the Parisian life (I visited the café up the street daily).

This apartment literally had everything we needed so I won't bother listing everything. The only thing "missing" was a dryer but we never needed it during our stay (and there are laundromats close by if you need one) and all the tv stations are in French except the news but we only turned the tv on once during the entire trip.

This apartment is highly, highly recommended. Thanks for everything, Paula!

The perfect home from home in Paris

  • 5 of 5

I was sitting on the balcony having a beer at 6pm on October 3rd in scorching sunshine looking at a view that could only be Paris and thinking, wow, this is the life. So much better than being cooped up in a hotel, Marcadet II gives you the chance to feel like a real Parisian, buying your beer and wine and bread and cheese locally and opening the French doors to let the sounds and smells (nice ones!) of the city in.

A friend and I stayed three nights but wished it could have been a week at least. The apartment is well situated between two Metro stations - Guy Moquet and Lamarck-Caulaincourt. If you have heavy suitcases on wheels, use the latter on arrival day as the walk is all downhill and there's an elevator from platform to street, then depart from Guy Moquet for the same reason!

Well laid out, the apartment has a good-sized sitting room, a compact and easy-to-keep kitchen and two decent bedrooms. I took the double and the bed was really comfortable. The star attraction is the bathroom, with his'n'hers sinks and a good shower. It was spotlessly clean.

I coud find absolutely no fault with the place, from the efficient check-in by the love Paula, who was waiting for us when we arrived, to the fast and free wifi and the provision of just about everything you can think of to make your stay enjoyable, including lots of tourist literature and a much-used corkscrew!

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Marcadet II. You can walk to Montmartre quickly and easily (unless you have a problem with steps, of which there are quite few), or head downhill to the Place de Clichy. Bars and restaurants in the area are considerable cheaper than those in the city centre, so after a day's sightseeing, you should return to eat locally.

All in all, I rate this five out of five because it offers excellent comfort and great value for money and I would return in a heartbeat.

Wonderful apartment in very nice location

  • 5 of 5

We were quite impressed with the apartment. The elevator was small but quaint. It was very adequate for what we required. The listing description was very accurate and the floor plan very helpful. It was very clean and well maintained with an updated kitchen. Paula, the manager, was most welcoming and very informative about the apartment itself and the surrounding area. She was also very diligent prior to our visit with updates, reminders and information we would need once we arrived. We enjoyed the location--in Montmartre close to Sacre Coeur, in a quiet neighbourhood with a park across the street, close to metro stations to access other parts of Paris, close to supermarket and open air markets. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to family or friends.
