You can easily walk anywhere in town, to many of the stores and restaurants just outside of town. There are convenient shuttles running frequently to take you anywhere on the island for a minimal fare--plus reasonable and prompt taxi service when needed--it is entirely possible to enjoy the best of Nantucket from this location without having to rent a car. However, the house offers two parking spaces, highly sought after in the high season, for guests or your car(s). Two bicycles are also available.
Our vacation on Nantucket was wonderful from the moment we first emailed Patsy (the owner) til weeks after we returned home and she sent us the items we accidentally left in her home. My husband and I have enjoyed vacationing in Nantucket for years but generally stayed in a BnB..this year we brought our four youngest children (ages 3 to 13) to experience the island as a family ....the house was perfect for our larger family...much roomier even then in pictures. Everything that you need is included with the home. We could easily walk to downtown and Children's Beach (we did not bring a car). In addition to being roomy and well stocked...house was super clean. Highly recommend!
The house on Academy Lane was perfect. It is set at the end of a road and only a 5 minute walk from town. There is a large front yard with hidden patio area. The house came with everything you would need from extra linens, to beach towels and kitchen supplies. Perfect for a Nantucket getaway.
The house is located in the middle of Nantucket’s historic district, on a quiet cul-de-sac at the top of Academy Hill, one block up from the Jared Coffin House. It is set behind a large lawn adjacent to the Academy Hill Apartments, and in back, overlooks Lily Street and beyond, a nature preserve.

|Notes||Nantucket is a wonderful place to be in many seasons, not just during the summer. Although we close the house for the winter months, we would consider opening it in the spring (early June)or fall (September) for a rental of a minimum of a week for the off-season rate of $3,000 per week.|
