THE BLUE HOUSE : A DIFFERENT WAY TO DISCOVER BARCELONA AND SEE THE SEA

What we got was exactly what Ignacio promised! We spent 6 glorious days in this beach front apartment and loved waking up to the incredible view of the pier and ocean every single morning! A few of us even made coffee and went to sit on the beach one morning because it was only a few steps away. The kitchen was very well kept with all of appliances working (and even some bonus ones hidden away in the cabinets, like the coffee machine that we LOVED having!) and it was well stocked for cooking (we stayed in one rainy evening and cooked a big feast!) Likewise, a large supermarket was not even 2 minutes from the apartment, which was so convenient upon arrival! What the bedrooms lacked in space, the living spaces made up for! There was tons of room to socialize in the common area with many people. Our only complaint about the facilities was the quality of one of the showers downstairs that was cold and had no water pressure; however, it was okay because we all ended up using the one upstairs which was great! The location was absolutely perfect as I mentioned. We were close to the beach, we walked to Las Ramblas along on the nice afternoons we had, and the metro stop was right around the corner about a 7 minute walk from the apartment. As a result, all of Barcelona was at our fingertips. Ignacio was a reliable owner who was not only willing to negotiate, and work with us but he was also very kind and helpful since we had to arrive late at night and leave early in the morning. He truly was interested in making sure that we enjoyed our stay! It was a relief to have had such a great experience as our first time renting an apartment (in a foreign country no less...we were 6 American girls vacationing while studying abroad in Italy so this was quite an adventure!) I highly recommend the Blue House, especially for big groups! You will love the space and location even in the colder months! Only 2 days we were there were good beach days, but we still felt connected to the city. Likewise, it can be a quiet area or a party area depending on what you want, the choice is yours! Several clubs are within a 5 minute walk, but being in the penthouse, you do not have to deal with any street noise! Thank you so much Ignacio! Enjoy, everyone because we surely did!

Location is perfect, bars and restaurants and supermarket downstairs. Excellent supermarket with huge choice of foods. Marina, clubs, beautiful beach opposite within 3 minute walk. Metro station short walk taking you into main shopping area of La Rambla. Able to walk to majority of places we visited, bus stop at back of shopping mall took you to most places if you don't want to walk! Watching the sunrise every morning from the balcony in December was very relaxing. Weather was warm 17 degrees, but colder once the sun went down, but still warmer than our families back in England (-5)!

If you have never been to Parc Guell - please go and experience the entrance to the park, walk along the narrow streets of El Born and the Santa Maria church and of course the Sagrada Familia. The Christmas lights around Placa Catalunya made the atmosphere very festive.

The cafe and pub downstairs (the same owners) is excellent. The breakfast is good quality, with good coffee, tea and staff.

We were visiting our family and have stayed before as we like the location both in summer and winter. Plenty of room for families or friends staying together.

Loved the apartment! Close to everything. Great views from the balconies. Grocery store and mall right next door. Liked being able to cook breakfast everyday in the large kitchen. Great bar downstairs, and lots of restaurants nearby. Apartment was clean and was very nice. Fridge was full size as well as the stove. Did not use oven or dishwasher. Yes, the apartment is showing wear, but it is 20 years old so that is to be expected. It felt like a home and not a hotel. Very safe neighborhood. Metro was walking distance, but quite a few blocks away, so expect to have a nice stroll. Nice running/jogging/bike trail right by marina and beach. Great place to stay...much better than a hotel. Very easy transaction with owner. If you are looking for a comfortable and very reasonably priced apartment, look no further! Thanks Ignacio! We had a wonderful stay!
