Cyprus and the Larnaca District: With year round sunshine and the warm blue waters of the Mediterranean., Cyprus has something for all generations: water-parks, water sports, cycling, golf, skiing, night-clubs, trekking and many cultural and archaeological sites.
The Larnaca region is famous for its sandy beaches and stunning coastline. Popular resorts include Ayia Napa, Protaras and the famous golden Nissi Beach. Cyprus extends a warm welcome to visitors and an abundance of tourist attractions to visit. Larnaca has a mix of the old and new. Beautiful old architectural buildings line winding old streets which lead to the sea front and the very modern marina and palm lined promenade with a great choice of bars, restaurants and shops.
Larnaca has two main beaches: McKenzie which offers a large choice of restaurants famous for their Cypriot cuisine and excellent seafood and Dhekelia beach which runs for miles, lined with international restaurants and offering a vast array of watersports.
Pyla Village: The village of Pyla is a 5 minute stroll away. Pyla is a charming village where the mix of Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots offers a chance to sample the delights of both cultures. The village is very traditional in look and feel with winding streets and traditional stone houses and has a very pretty old stone church in the centre. Pyla offers guests a peaceful laid back holiday resort with a selection of village amenities including shops, bars and tavernas. For the sun worshippers the award winning Pyla Beach is only 2 kilometers away. Larger supermarkets can be found in Larnaca.
Skiing in Cyprus: Cyprus is a wonderful island of contrasts. Where else could you ski in the morning and then be sunning yourself by the pool or on the beach in the afternoon? The snows on Mount Olympus are a fabulous way of spending a winter morning in the Ski Cyprus arena.
Skiing in Cyprus is a wonderful experience; not because of the large variety of lifts and runs but because of the serene beauty of the surroundings. Experience skiing amongst centuries old pine trees and cedars and enjoy stunning views of the coast line. On clear days you may even see the snowy mountains in Turkey.
There are more than 200 kilometres of well-marked trails on the island, including a number of popular hiking routes such as those in the Troodos area, the Akamas Peninsula, the Aphrodite Trail, the Adonis Trail branch and the Avakas Gorge.
