3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom Water Front House With Gorgeous Views Next To Beach.

Gloccamorra means 'Happy Place' and there you will find the luxurious comforts of home to be extremely happy in your stay! The entire property has been renovated for the past year, to the studs, and done up to the nines! It features handscraped hard wood floors, stainless GE Profile appliances, a large wine fridge, walk in pantry, onsite front load laundry (in separate laundry room and washtub), granite countertops, breakfast bar, the original stone fireplace (converted to gas), bar, patio, Weber bbq, and lots of space to entertain. The main house is done in a neutral setting with steel blue tones upstairs to match the many moods and colours of the lake!

The main living room and kitchen have been blown out into an open concept area. There are large sliding Andersen glass doors which open onto the patio and waterfront for magnificent views of Lake Erie. There are three bedrooms in total; one master loft which takes up the entire second floor, complete with built-ins (drawers and closets), a glassed in shower, double vanity, Keurig coffee set up and large master deck spanning the house to enjoy your morning coffee uninterrupted. The master contains a king size bed with plush bedding, flat screen TV and dvd player combo.

There are 2 bedrooms on the main level; one with a queen bed, Nate Berkus bedding, a large open out closet, bureau and chair. The 'nook' bedroom contains a trundle bed which, when pulled out, will expand to king size. This room is smaller, but done up with Tommy Hilfiger bedding and also has a closet and bureau of drawers for storage. All bedrooms are carpeted with plush modern shag. The rest of the cottage flooring is done in handscraped oak and has a den area with a large desk for working, however, the internet is not readily available in this area yet! The main floor bathroom is cute with a tub, toilet and small vanity with large mirror--palm tree motif. The living area has a large L-shaped Bassett couch with a full sized hide-a-bed and also contains a turn of the century baker's cabinet turned into a bar. There is also a table for four in the corner for playing cards, doing puzzles or sumptuous dining!

The front of the house is considered 'water side' and has an oversized paver patio with furniture for dining 'al fresco' or lying in the sun. The Weber Grill is stored in the shed for safe keeping, but can easily be wheeled around to the patio to bbq while you look out over the water. The beach is literally one step down to the left side of the house. It is privately owned and used by many, but it is nice and sandy for walking on, playing in, or jumping into the lake!

There is plenty of room for parking, just please make sure not to cross over to the neighbour's side to the right! Please park directly in front of our white fence, leaving enough room for people to access the beach. Although we love animals, unfortunately we are not accepting any pets on premises at this time! This is a non-smoking cottage!

I am an expat Canadian living in southeastern Florida, but can't seem to get the 'Canadian' out of me. I still love to come home to Essex County whether it's in the Fall for the colours, or for the amazing corn on the cob and peaches in the summer! I've spent most of my life in this area and love to come back often to see family and friends. My husband hails from the wheat fields of North Dakota and is a 'little bit Canadian' too. His family had a 'lake place' in Minnesota that he spent all of his formative years at learning to water ski, golf, and becoming the wonderful man that he is, called 'Gloccamorra' hence the name of our cottage, Gloccamorra II. When he recounts the memories of this magical place, we knew we had to name our cottage after it. It is the best place on earth.

I was feeling a bit homesick for Canada, specifically Essex County, so after a bit of talking with my husband, we decided to purchase a place back home. Gloccamorra II happens to be located right next to my best girlfriend's cottage too! There is no finer piece of land or view in the area. The original cottage was in rough shape and wasn't for sale, but with a little convincing, a lot of patience, and a good contractor, it became our dream home.

We chose this home because of its amazing potential, not to mention its extraordinary views. It also had the most amazing stone fireplace, which I'm pleased to report, is still in tact and produces a cozy, hot fire. It's close to 'bit city amenties' if you need them, but this area is so quiet, beautiful, with a ton to do, not to mention the winery where we were married at, just a 10 minute walk away, we knew we'd found the right spot.

We felt welcome from the first moment we entered the cottage. The view of the lake was spectacular. The weather was perfect. We were lucky, so enjoyed the fabulous new patio, Bar-B-Q and all. Great place for a family. Also beach was a great asset for the grandchildren.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at such a beautiful cottage. We spent most of our time outside on the new, very large gorgeous patio overlooking the Lake. The view was incredible. There was plenty of sun or shade depending on your peference. The patio furniture was very comfortable.

The inside of the cottage has all the ammenities you could ever ask for and was decorated beautifully. The upstairs master bedroom with the patio doors provided a lovely view to wake up to each morning.

We had a wonderful time and want to thank you so much for sharing your cottage with us. It was very central to the towns and wineries surrounding it and we enjoyed several day trips. Lots to see and do in the area.

We look forward to coming back for another enjoyable vacation.

We just returned from a wonderful stay at your beautiful cottage. You have incorporated all the comforts of home and much more! The view was breathtaking especially from the master loft where we woke up each morning to enjoy coffee on the deck watching the waves rolling in. This is the perfect cottage for anyone that would want to be in an updated surrounding with all amenities imaginable! We spent endless hours on the waterfront patio and even on the rain days we had, we still enjoyed the water views from the patio doors that spanned the entire living room area. We want to thank you for sharing your special place with us and are looking forward to returning in the very near future. We look forward to having a retreat from our day to day lives and this is the ideal place for us to get away too. We can't wait to go back!

Our cottage is located on Levergood Beach, right in the heart of the wine region of Essex County. Many wineries are located close by including Sprucewood Shores which is a 10 minute walk from the cottage door.You can even take an escorted tour leaving from the Meadows Tavern to several different wineries! Golfing, swimming, lazing on the beach, fishing, bike riding, provincial and national parks are minutes away. Amherstburg is a 10 minute drive for history buffs or for those who love browsing antique shops. There is as much or as little to do as you would like, even if it's just watching the sunset over the lake or taking in the colours during the Autumn season!

Refundable damage deposit C$500.00
A $500 deposit is required at the time of booking. Full payment + $100 housekeeping + $500 security deposit is due MIN 30 days before scheduled reservation. Cancellation, no less than 14 days prior to booking, will be refunded by 50%. The security deposit of $500 will be refunded to the renter, approx 2 weeks after stay, provided all is well. Distance calls will be deducted from security deposit.
Notes Rentals are from a Saturday to a Saturday. Check out will be at 11am sharp and check in will be at 4pm, to allow for cleaning time. Please make arrangements through email, with owner, for specifics and confirmation.
