This homey log cabin is perfect for you; located just 15 minutes from the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park and West Yellowstone, Montana. It is located approximately 3/4 mile off of Highway 20 with a nice wooded area in a quiet, private area. Whether you seek fishing, snowmobiling/atv riding, hunting, boating, skiing and hiking or just enjoying the great outdoors and mountain views on your vacation you have found the ideal cabin location!

This 2 bedroom cabin has a queen bed in each of its two bedrooms. In addition, there are 2 queen beds located in the loft along with two twin bunk beds. All bedding is provided with extra pillows and blankets. The cabin will sleep 10 guests comfortably. There are two full bathrooms with linens provided.

Enjoy the open floor plan with a large main living area which includes the kitchen, dining room and living room. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the amenities to prepare a marvelous home cooked meal. There is ample dishware and silverware, along with any cookware that you might need. Electrical appliances are provided including, but not limited to, an electric skillet, blender, crock pot, 12 cup coffee pot and a coffee grinder for the gourmet coffee types! We also try to provide a variety of seasonings. The dining room table has seating for 6 and bar seats 2 with bar stools. If it is dining out that you desire, the cabin is within minutes of multiple fast food or fine dining restaurants. The living room is wonderfully cozy with a couch and loveseat that recline and a large Grandma's chair. You can curl up with a good book in front of the propane stove or watch a movie on the flat screen television with Dish Network or the DVD player.

The loft also has a television viewing area with a flat screen television with Dish Network and a VCR/DVD player. The couch and loveseat provide ample room for the kids to watch a movie of their own. We have provided a few small toys, lots of board games for the family and you can choose from a wide variety of books.

Laundry area has a smaller washer and dryer with all of your laundry soap, bleach and fabric softeners provided.

Pets are welcome - there is an area provided in the corner of the dining area to contain your pet if needed. We ask that no pets be left unattended in the cabin.

The wrap around deck provides room for sitting and enjoying the mountain air and wildlife with a barbeque grill and fire pit. While the adults relax there is a swing set for the kids to entertain themselves (summer only).

Cell phones work very well at the cabin. Internet access and WIFI is available at all times.

Arrive at any time, for your convenience, we have Remote Lock for our guests - you will get your own personal code to access the cabin without a tedious check-in!

Moose Crossing is open year around and is conveniently located in a central location. Your vacation home base is within minutes of some of the area's best activities. Just down the road is a public boat launch for Henry's Lake, the ice fishing on Henry's Lake is amazing with some record fish being pulled from its depths. Head south on Highway 20 to visit Mesa Falls, Johnny Sack Cabin at Big Springs or Sawtelle Peak. Enjoy amazing fly fishing on Henry's Fork of the Snake River or Madison River. There is a live dinner theater at Mack’s Inn Playhouse. Enjoy float trips down the river, hiking trails, horseback riding and even a round of golf at Island Park Village Resort. Take the time to hike Harriman State Park and enjoy nature’s wonders. This is a snowmobiler’s paradise with some of the area’s best snowmobiling accessible right from the cabin's front door; there is something for every level of snowmobiler. Enjoy over 500 miles of trail riding or within minutes you can boon-docking in some of the best over the hood powder back country riding or steep climbing that you can imagine.

During the winter, we keep the driveway plowed and attempt to keep the walkways cleared, especially on the day of your arrival. The driveway has ample room for one large trailer and 2 - 3 trucks OR 2 smaller snowmobile trailers and pickups. If your party has more than that there is a large parking area less than 3/4 of a mile down the road from the cabin.

When the snow is gone and spring and summer arrives, the area is noted for its wildlife with a moose actually being caught on photos right in the backyard. You might see fox, elk or deer and there is always a beautiful bird to be seen on a walk in the wooded area right across from the cabin.

This is a NON-SMOKING cabin. We are also under a county ordinance for short term rentals and ask that our guests please stay in compliance for their safety and health; we ask that you stay within capacity limits, read the burn ordinance and please be neighborly.

As you can see from the photo that our family is avid snowmobile fans. I grew up in Montana and my husband grew up in Twin Falls, Idaho, where our son was born. We live in Twin Falls, Idaho where we farm and have a custom baling business. Our summers are very full, so we take the time to enjoy every snowflake that falls from the sky!

Shawna purchased this cabin in 2012

We had a dream! We have wanted a cabin in this area for years as we have been coming here every winter for 13 years to enjoy the snow. We started coming here when we could still ride our mountain sleds into Yellowstone National Park. It seems that whenever we had a spare few days (even in the summer) we would load in the car and run up here to enjoy Yellowstone National Park, Virginia City or just to relax with friends. Some of our fondest memories as a family are on snowmobiles in these mountains. My dad even looked at purchasing property in Island Park back when I was 8 years old. We are truly blessed to live 4 hours from Island Park and we consider this beautiful cabin our retirement home! We can't hardly wait to retire!

We fell in love with this cabin and purchased it for the great loft - the big open feeling just made us feel so at home that we had to have it! It is cozy with the log walls and propane stove. The property sits on 3 lots so there is a lot of room to play outside! All of the pine trees and aspens on the property make this cabin very secluded. It was also a great bonus that it sits directly on the trails leading to some of the greatest mountain snowmobiling in the area. Our friends and family that don't snowmobile can't wait for summer so that they might enjoy the benefits of Henrys Lake, Madison River and Yellowstone National Park! I personally love Big Springs where you can feed the fish and sometimes see a moose just standing in the river. We are avid outdoors people and with all of the big windows, even when you are in the cabin you can bring the outdoors right inside with you. I love to sit early in the morning in front of the fire, sipping coffee and looking out at the beautiful snow drifts, it just makes my day!

Great location for Yellowstone

  • 5 of 5
We had a group of 6 stay at this cabin and there was plenty of room for all of us. The cabin is decorated in moose and the owner is great to work with. We were able to see the resident moose our first morning there right outside the bedroom window. It was a great location to visit
Yellowstone and the drive in to the park is beautiful as we'll. We also went to Big Sky Montana and went whitewater rafting which I highly recommend. That was a beautiful drive as we'll and took about an hour and half. We only had 5 nights at the cabin and could have stayed longer since there is so much to see in the area. Shawna is very helpful in providing information on the sights to see and things to so. She even baked a cake for my husbands birthday be cause we would be arriving to late and there are no bakeries around this little town. I'm sure she chuckled inside when I asked if there was a bakery close by. The grocery store only has 4 aisles. This was definitely the place to relax and get away and the cabin allowed us to do this and Shawna made our vacation special with memories to last for a lifetime. Look no further this is the place you want to rent.

Island Park Retreat

  • 5 of 5
My family gathered in Island Park and stayed at Moose Crossing for three wonderful nights. The cabin was roomy, sparkling clean, and cozy. It was conveniently located and easy to find. Shawna, the owner was especially helpful, before hand with information about the area and the day of arrival. The amenities were more than we had hoped for and the surroundings beautiful. I have already recommended it to several friends and would love to spend more time there. Thank you Shawna!

A great vacation spot

  • 5 of 5
We rented this cabin for two couples, for a full week. Our goal was to go to the park every day and discover the different aspects the park can offer. We did it, even when it was raining in Island Park.
The cabin was very comfortable with a lot of room for two couples. Everything we needed was in the cabin. It was clean and very well kept. We will come back!

Beautiful

We stayed for 4 nights at this cabin, the pictures do not do it justice, it is beautiful and in an area that is out of town but still very accessible to restaurants and shops. We loved waking up to Moose in the yard, we did our day trips into Yellowstone from here and found it very delightful to travel back and forth in the area. The owners are very nice and easy to work with, we hope to be able to visit again one day and stay here. Thanks for everything.

Yellowstone Trip

  • 5 of 5
When we started planning our family trip to YNP the first thing we wanted to do was find a nice cabin to stay in. Moose Crossing fit perfectly for what we were looking for! It was cozy but roomy and the seven us who stayed (4 adults and 3 kids) all had plenty of room. It was a gorgeous cabin and we loved coming back to each night after exploring Yellowstone. We would absolutely recommend staying here and we will definitely be back! It is the very definition of "home away from home"

Unfortunate problem, but great hosts

  • 5 of 5
Our experience at this cabin was somewhat interrupted by an unfortunate water problem. There was apparently a frozen pipe that leads to the cabin, which left us without water when we arrived. That was the bad .
The good part was that the owner Shawna had a plumber out within 20. Inputs to take a look at things. Unfortunately he could not do anything.
Shawna really took the initiative to find us an alternative cabin to settle us into, she waived the first night we spent without water and was overall an amazing host. We loved this Cabin. It has a great location, it's wonderfully laid out, it's furnished with great taste and attention to detail. Leading up to the vacation Shawna took the time to hook us with a great deal on snowmobile rentals , took time to prepare a map for us to use as a guide of places to visit.
We all agreed that this was a great place to come back to and we will certainly look up Shawna and use one of her cabins .
We highly recommend.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your review! I really appreciate your kindness and patience with our winter time subdivision water problems! I assure you that this problem will be taken care of next winter as we are in the process of getting a permit to drill our own well! Rest assured that should you want to come snowmobile next winter that our cabin will be ready for your stay!! Come back and enjoy our cabin and all that Island Park has to offer in the summer too!! : )
