About Fran

I grew up in Santa Fe and attended the nearby 'Garcia St. Club' as a young girl. I've always loved this part of Santa Fe and so pleased to own this authentic, yet modern, adobe. I left New Mexico to attend Stanford University in California and have lived in the Bay Area since, now residing in the Potrero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco.

In the Bay Area I'm a veteran of several Internet start-ups most notably Match.com and TRUSTe (privacy solutions). In San Francisco, I often rent my home and my guests invariably remark on its comfort, style and art. I hope you will will feel the same at my house on Garcia St.

Fran purchased this house in 2013
Why Fran chose Santa Fe

To me, Garcia St. is quintessentially Santa Fe. Beautiful homes and 'compounds' adorn both sides of the long boulevard as it climbs toward the Santa Fe foothills. My property is nestled in a historic compound with an exceptional setting and location.

When you enter the quiet lane and you will immediately feel the serenity of the natural peace and quiet and take in the fresh mountain air.

On foot (and through the secret shortcut) you can easily explore the old adobe filled neighborhoods, jaunt over to Museum Hill, take an art amble on Canyon Road, and go to the historic Plaza - less than a mile - for the many restaurants and entertainment options.

During the winter, easy access up to the Santa Fe ski area (16 miles).

Inside: The home is quiet, warm and comfortable with all the authentic Santa Fe features you'd want: Viga ceilings, Kiva fireplace, hardwood floors and thick adobe walls. Excellent New Mexican art!

What makes this house unique

In addition to the incredible location and setting, this home offers air conditioning, updated kitchen and bathrooms, large outside portal in back and private portal off master bedroom. The home is expertly decorated and includes all the conveniences you want including a gourmet 's kitchen with everything you might need. Check out the incredible New Mexico art (and a bit of San Francisco too).

There is nothing else to say about Fran's house in Santa Fe except that it is wonderful. If you have a choice, stay here - quiet, spaious, clean, comfortable, downright luxurious, with a great location.

Fran's home in Santa Fe is a gem. Very comfortable, extremely well equipped, quiet and peaceful, and yet close to Canyon Road district and Downtown Subscription (our favorite local coffee shop, with a thousand magazines). We would go back in a heartbeat

Terrific long weekend in this perfect New Mexico house

Submitted: April 10, 2013 Stayed: April 2013
I totally enjoyed my stay in this VRBO rental on a quiet lane walking distance from Canyon Road in Santa Fe. The house is virtually new, nicely furnished with the best equipped kitchen I have seen in a long time. the house is comfortable and charming and has two great bathrooms. Everything was spotless. You can also relax on the patio which has a southern exposure and is set up with a large patio table that seats 8 and there is a barbeque right there if you want to grill something. What can I say other than it was perfect. At night it was very quiet with no road noises at all because its down a lane from the main street. Can't wait to go back.

Will Stay Again

Submitted: April 10, 2013 Stayed: March 2013
Fran was a fantastic host! We arrived in Santa Fe to an impeccably decorated and comfortable home. It's a great location and a quick walk to the central square and also Canyon Road. We appreciated Fran's suggestions for things to do in the area. She also provided a detailed map that helped us navigate the area. The small touches were really special, including super soft linens and coffee/dry goods in the kitchen. We felt at home and can't wait to come back to Santa Fe. You better believe that we'll stay at Fran's home again!

January in Santa Fe

Submitted: March 30, 2013 Stayed: January 2013
Tweets reveal the happiest U.S. cities
Santa Fe, NM is ranked as #4
Santa Fe is one of the most charming cities in the U.S.. The city has worked hard to retain its territorial charm. Santa Fe is all about the adobe style of the southwest. It is also a city where art & culture are highlighted.
I loved visiting this beautiful adobe home on Garcia St. in Santa Fe. The home exudes southwestern warmth and charm. Everything from the welcoming portal to the wood beam ceilings offers a uniquely Santa Fe experience. This home is an old adobe that had been remodeled to modern standards while retaining the original adobe walls, wood beams, and charming kiva style fireplace.
The location is fantastic. This home is a short stroll to gallery row where you will find many beautiful and exciting pieces of art. It is a nice walk to the plaza where you can enjoy all of the traditional sites of Santa Fe and the many wonderful restaurants.
The living room welcomes you with warm comfortable furnishings. Several pieces of eye catching art complement the style of the home and furniture perfectly. The fireplace was just perfect for the chilly January evenings. The living room is complete with a television and apple media center.
The kitchen was unbelievable! It was complete with beautiful dishes and serve ware as well as every gadget you would possibly need. The appliances were small, but clean, easy to use, and very modern. The adjacent dining room was comfortably furnished and decorated in keeping with the home's Santa Fe style.
This home's two bedrooms offer new comfortable beds with down comforters and great pillows. The décor blends modern comfort with southwestern flair. Both bathrooms are completely remodeled. The hall bath had a tub over shower with a tasteful modern vanity and toilet. The master bath has a large walk-in shower. Both rooms were complete with spare toiletries, and thick and luxurious towels.
