Walks And Fires On The Beach: Wonderful Spot For Families & Friends
Making memories. That's what our guests have been doing — some for 10 years and counting.
Start your day with a sunrise walk to the lighthouse, and end your evening with a fire on the beach.
Our 4-bedroom, 2-bath Lake Michigan beach house is a special place to relax, regroup and rejuvenate.
The main level includes a large, open great room that combines kitchen, dining and living areas — a great space to enjoy your time with family and friends. Large windows and sliding glass door bring the outdoors in, with a beautiful lake view and easy deck/beach access. The kitchen has a large island with stove and stools and can make cooking a fun group activity. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans, and includes a microwave and dishwasher. The comfortably furnished living room has a gas fireplace for cooler Door County nights, wireless access, plenty of board games, and a 42' television for indoor fun. On the deck, a gas grill and comfortable seating complete the setting for perfect evening meals.
The main level also includes a comfortable master bedroom with a walkout door to the deck, a small, cozy bedroom, nice for a child or single guest, and a bath with shower and tub.
The very private downstairs (ground level) has a spacious and bright family room with large windows and lake view, comfortable seating, television and a small desk. A great place to get away from the activity, or for the teenagers to crash. (ours have been known to turn it into a dormitory!) The downstairs also includes one queen bedroom, and one twin bedroom with a bathroom and shower.
Besides beautiful walks on the beach - in search for that perfect piece of beach glass - we have a swimming raft and a fire pit.
- pets considered
- non smoking only
About Barbara Wulf
My family grew up in Sturgeon Bay and after my father passed away, my mother decided she needed a change. She fell in love with this house the minute she found it. The main level was finished as it is no w, and the downstairs was one big linoleum-tiled dorm room. She renovated the entire downstairs and added the garage. After she passed away, my brothers and I didn't want to give it up because we had enjoyed so much family time here -together and with kids-, so we decided to enjoy it when we can, and rent it out as well, letting others enjoy it as much as we do!
Barbara Wulf purchased this house in 1989
Why Barbara Wulf chose Sturgeon Bay
What I really like about the house is that it is very peaceful here, yet close enough to town (Sturgeon Bay) that it's easy to jump in the car and go get something to eat or pick up something at the grocery store that you forgot. When you're ready to jump into all that Door County has to offer, you can take a leisurely drive north up the shoreline or easily get on the highway to start your adventure for the day!
What makes this house unique
When I’m at the house one of my favorite things to do is to is have coffee on the beach and watch the sunrise. Then go for a walk down to Peggy’s Point, which is south, just past Portage park. Peggy was a friend of my mother’s and her house was just past the point. We would have picnics there when we were kids, so I have many fond memories of that spot. I also love to make simple lake lunches and eat on the deck, read a book and fall into a relaxing summer slumber....
