The home is centrally located for travel to Tacoma, Mt. Rainier, Olympia, Military bases and local colleges and universities. Easy Freeway access to travel to Seattle or Portland, OR. It is also an easy days drive to the Pacific Ocean or Hood Canal. Lot of folks go to the Pikes Place Market or to the Seattle or Tacoma waterfront attractions. The Puyallup Fairground is close by for the various shows and attractions.
These are fair people. Unfortunately, this is not a vacation home. The owners are ridiculously slow to respond to questions, and weren't available to even provide me with an address until it was convenient for them. Your privacy WILL be an issue, they live next door. She just showed up one day at the back door offering a garbage can to me. Shouldn't that have just been provided? The cable service is embarrassing, the TV is very old, the dishwasher sounds like its ready to blow up, and things within the house do not operate properly or work at all. Yet, she will expect you to sign a contract that will put you liable for all of it. I simply just left out of disgust with it all. These owners do not know how to professionally manage property.
I wouldn't recommend this rental home to anyone. At their nightly rate you can find plenty of accommodations that are far cheaper and maintained in the way any reasonable person would expect. You'll have MUCH more privacy as well.
The hubby and I brought the boys down for a few days. We did the Washington Fair, Tacoma Children's Museum and the car museum too. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and felt completely at home. The house is quaint and I think we may have to plan a little winter getaway just for the hubby and me!
The host was delightful and even brought over home baked cookies for us.
We'll be back, for sure!
Very nice people and very accommodating, but if you are looking for privacy.. this is NOT it. We knew that right away, when we were on the phone with the owner and she said.. i will meet you at the house to let you in. No privacy. Yep, They live in the house right next door. In all of our 8 years of vacation renting, we stayed in this house the least. Just for sleeping, out by noon- one. We stayed for 6 days. The first 4 of them we woke up to the husband\ owner in the garage working on his car. Ok, so much for a private drive. One of those days they migrated to the back yard and moved a snowmobile trailer and brought in a small trailer. Ok so much for privacy in the back yard, which I guess is already shot at this point with him out in the garage ( which sits in the back yard, so when you walk out the back door, there he is. ) also false advertised on the brick patio in back yard.. More like a pile of garbage in need of a clean up. The house, is cute and almost what they said it is. But the floors were sticky and still dirty in some places. Bath linens had a nasty smell. Washers is broke and will not wash on cold, which I learned after it ruined a bunch of brand new clothes. A lot of other small things... We will not be returning.
