Photos and Description of the Livingston vacation house rental
5 Bedroom Main House + Guest House, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 2-10)

The house is ideally situated on the most prestigious block of Yellowstone Street, the premier location in the Livingston historical district. It is a short walk from the Yellowstone River and Sacajawea Park and recreation center, as well as the center of Livingston's Main Street. Yellowstone House was built in 1890. It features a Main House with 4 bedrooms (#1 has 2 twins, #2 queen, #3 queen, #4 full) and 2 baths with a formal dining room that seats 8-10, living room and a casual family room with television a wood-burning stove.

The carriage house has been converted into a 1 bedroom (2 twin beds), 1 bath guest house with its own kitchen and can be rented with the house.

Recently renovated, the house retains its historical charm. It is comfortably and handsomely furnished. It is an ideal house for the group or family who wishes to take advantage of all that the town of Livingston has to offer as well as all of the surrounding outdoor recreational areas and facilities.

The pleasant backyard has a patio with both charcoal and grills, outdoor furniture and picnic table.

This property is walking distance from downtown where you will find interesting shops, galleries and fine dining. It is only 3 blocks from our lovely local park, tennis courts, pool and the world-reknown Yellowstone River. Yellowstone National Park is a mere 52 miles south.

This property works well for families and fishermen. It is a perfect location from which to base your stay in Montana!

About Betsy Longstreth

The house is owned by two Philadelphia-based couples with a combination of five married children and thirteen grandchildren. Both families enjoy outdoor activities and have utilized the Livingston base to fish, hike, and ski in the nearby rivers and mountains that surround this location. We have also found the Livingston community to be welcoming and stimulating.

Betsy Longstreth purchased this house in 2005
Why Betsy Longstreth chose Livingston

After many years of visiting Montana and Wyoming, the obvious benefits of Livingston’s central location, small town atmosphere and cultural attractions convinced us to acquire a property which could both meet our needs and accommodate guest visitors. We selected a charming Victorian home on Livingston’s most traditional street – a short, tree-lined walk to the Yellowstone River, the Town Park and “downtown” shops, restaurants, galleries and museums. Constructed during the railroad boom of the 1880s, the house projects the town’s historic character, while offering the comforts of a modern residence.

What makes this house unique

The house at 216 Yellowstone Street provides a traveler with the unique opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking natural beauty of the American West while experiencing current culture in an historical setting. Livingston is a town which consciously addresses both of these objectives. Access to Yellowstone Park, Paradise Valley and the many rivers and mountains which surround those destinations is clearly Livingston’s most compelling asset and a wide selection of fly shops, outfitters, guiding services and raft/kayak rentals are available. Likewise, this former hub for the Northern Pacific Railroad maintains an authentic old western flavor, while offering a selection of fashionable boutiques, restaurants, galleries and museums in a bustling downtown center.
