Photos and Description of the Assisi vacation villa rental
Villa, 5 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 5 Baths, (Sleeps 2-14)

We have a large villa situated on a hilltop in the heart of the Umbrian countryside, 20’ drive from Perugia and 10' from Assisi. The upper two floors of the villa are for rent. Apartment 1 sleeps 10 people in 4 bedrooms; apartment 2 is a 1-bdrm attic apartment with a sofa bed and sleeps 4. Both apartments are completely independent, have free wireless internet access and splendid views over the rolling green hills of Umbria.

The villa is only a few miles from the leading towns and cities of the region, famous for their artistic heritage. Situated in an olive grove, lovingly tended by the proprietors, the villa looks out towards Assisi, Spello and Perugia. There is a very nice, large garden with a swimming pool (open in the period May 04 - Sept 28, 2013).

Our Vacation House will appeal especially to those nature lovers who want peace, calm and privacy combined with incomparable panoramas and the ability to take many day trips to historic cities. Just ten kilometers from the medieval hill town of Assisi, the Vacation House offers both a unique glimpse of Italian rural life and confortable base from which guests can visit the famed nearby towns of Umbria, Tuscany and the Marches including Perugia, Assisi, Todi, Orvieto, Spoleto, Gubbio, Siena, Florence, S.Gimignano, Cortona, Rome, and Urbino and natural sights including Lake Trasimeno, the Marmore Waterfall and the Sibilline Mountain National Park.

About The Owner

I am a Professor at Perugia University (a very old Italian University). At work my topic is Hydrology but during the weekend I like very much to do things in the garden.

Why The Owner chose Assisi

My parents built the house where they would like to spend the second half of their life. However the house become too large for a single family. So, recently we divided the house in 4 independent portions: 2 for rent and 2 for us

What makes this villa unique

I think there are many benefits at this house, but I want to remember only the more important: a WONDERFUL PANORAMA

My husband and I stayed here for our first trip to Italy and it was WONDERFUL! The home was nicely accommodating and the owners were very welcoming and helpful. It was the perfect location for the day trips we planned as we were able to travel to both coasts from Bettona. Renato's vast supply of pamphlets and information enabled us to venture out and his recommendations for dining and attractions were truly splended suggestions. We were welcomed by his sweet Lady mother and treated to a bottle of wine and their own olive oil. The thing that will remain forever in my mind is truly is the WONDERFUL PANORAMA!! The location of the home surrounds you with magnificent views and beauty!

Last 2 weeks we had a wonderfull vacation at Bettona! The 10 pers. appartment is really very large, nice, clean and tasteful decorated! While the portico was full of sunshine, we enjoyed the shadows on the (also very large and nice) covered terrace with its marvelous vieuws on the surroundings and especially on Bettona! It's almost impossible to discribe this sensation so we can absolute recommend the 'Casa della Ginestra'! Also thanks to Renato for the oil, wine and the bottles of fresh water when we arrived!

Me and my family really enjoyed our staying in La Casa della Ginestra! We were lucky with the weather, which was beatiful during our stay in May. The view from the pool is gorgeous and surrounding area is full of beatiful small villages and other places to see as well. You can find excellent supermarket in Collestrada, some 15 km from the property. There is no big supermarkets closer than that. All in all, this property is really recommendable as it stands on the hillside and has really beautiful views towards Bettona, Assisi and Perugia. Extra thanks to Renato and her daughter Camilla who made our stay really homely! :)

We were a party of 5 people on vacation and planning a week visit to the area of Umbria and eventually on to Rome.
We had rented the Casa Della Genestra for one week but after one day we felt we could stay there forever!!! Pictures on the web do not do it justice!
We had a beautiful apartment;3 bedrooms,3 baths very well supplied. plus a large deck in the back overlooking the beautiful countryside with tables and chairs to sit there and drink Bettona wines and watch the sunsets.
Our hosts Renato and his wonderful Mom, Lola were more than helpful catering to all our needs.
We would go back in a heartbeat!
Thank you Renato for the oil and wine we received upon our arrival.
