The house in Northern Tuscany is available to rent as a holiday home on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
A detached property set in an acre of Tuscan hillside with incredible views across the Magra valley, Apuan mountains & distant hills of Liguria. If you are looking for a holiday rental in Tuscany then look no further. Casa Miele is loved by all who visit and even locals compliment the fortunate outlook and position of this property.
The view changes on a daily basis depending on the weather & lighting conditions, which highlight or hide different contours on different days & provides wonderful surprises when a new castle or village seems to emerge.
Casa Miele is an original stone property that has been renovated & enlarged to provide a calm oasis to enjoy & savour the Italian countryside in-between trips to the endless interesting destinations nearby.
We set out to create a modern and functional space with clean lines, retaining traditional & rustic charms.
We had a very enjoyable stay. The house is comfortable and well equipped with a great terrace with views over the valley. Thoroughly recommended as a rural base for the region.
Fransesca the walking guide was excellent, and took us of the beaten path into the mountain meadows and above the marble quarries.
We liked the local fizzy wine, especially the Rose, and the vegetables from the greengrocer; the rustic restaurant at the bottom of the hill before the bridge; Ristoranti Locanda Gavarini was fantastic but always busy with weddings and parties; and Per Bacco in the square in Aulla was excellent as per our visits over the years. I have recently bought a few bottles of Colli di Luni, Vermentino from Terenzuola, we liked it so much.
The only disappointment was Cinque Terre, where two of the coastal paths were closed
Beautiful property set in lovely grounds where you can watch amazing sunsets over the distant mountains. The property is well equipped, clean and well maintained. Lots to do and see in the surrounding areas. I would highly recommend Casa Miele. We've already booked to return this year!
Casa Miele is a real home from home, we have 3 young children and the house is fully equipped with everything we need, with a covered patio area for dinner outdoors and a big garden for the kids to play safely in and watch the fireflies in the evening. The house is in a beautiful rural area with the village of Bagnone only 10mins away for some tasty local produce, the surrounding area has some lovely restaurants to eat out in and for a day trip the beach is only 1hr away! We had such a great time there the last two years, we've booked again for this year.
Casa Miele epitomises a home away from home.
On arrival the house was very clean and well presented. The views from the villa are breath taking.
We specifically requested some 'baby gates' for our daughter and the owner and her local support were very accomodating to our requests.
The kitchen is very well equipped and set up to do whatever type of cooking you may or may not desire.
There really is everything you could wish for in Casa Miele. The only small suggestion we would have is a little more details in the house book of local places to get supplies, we struggled as we arrived on a Sunday when most shops were closed.
A very comfy, home from home stay, way up in the hills, secluded and exclusive.
This is a beautiful and spacious Tuscan home located in an amazing rural landscape, but in easy reach of all amenities you could want. I'll try and avoid the estate agent tone from hereon - but it is TRUE!
I stayed in July - a sizeable group of us - and enjoyed a truly relaxing holiday, with an array of different pursuits to experience and entertain us. Firstly, let me say that Casa Miele itself has attractively decorated, good sized rooms, with all facilities to hand, and lends itself immediately as a home from home. A favourite feaature was the porch overlooking the large garden, and the views of the valley beyond - a fabulous setting for spending warm summer evenings, eating and drinking al fresco. Ah yes - the food and wine - we know Tuscany is the home of culinary delights - and certainly we indulged ourselves - we even booked our own wine tasting evening on the mentioned porch! Highly recommended.
But it wasn't all about feasting - we explored the local area on some leisurely walks, taking in the villages, as well as more adventurous walks in the Appenine mountains, where the views down the valley down to the Tyrrhenian Sea were spectacular. Further afield, we spent a day on the coast, near La Spezia, picnicing and swimming; a day on the Cinque Terra, with its quaint fishing villages hugging onto the steep, rocky shoreline; a trip to pretty Pontremoli and its market where you must try the local cakes; and also the trail of the famous hilltop towns of Tuscany - Siena, San Gimignano, and Volterra.
Visiting the latter - the more famous sights - made me appreciate that the Lunigiana region of Tuscany, home to Casa Miele, is a relatively unknown hidden gem. I say definitely go and discover this treasure for yourself, and what better place to stay to do this, but the delightful Casa Miele.
Bagnone is one of the prettiest villages in the center of Lunigiana. Topped by a castle fortress with the typical round tower of Lunigiana, the castle is now divided into several family units for the lucky few that get to live in it and enjoy the view. It is possible to walk up to the castle from the lower town. A wonderful walk it is too, over the ponte vechio where an obligatory pause to enjoy the view and a great photo opportunity.
Bagnone was home this Summer 2009 to Europe's biggest ever lottery win. Well the ticket was purchased in one of its several cafes. The small picturesque town was swamped by international press for one surreal week where one reporter noted the irony of winning the lottery when you already live in a place that people fantasise about moving to after a lottery win! That says it all really it is a spectacular town known as the jewel of Lunigiana.
