After growing up spending summers on the rivers and lakes around the State and I now reside in West Michigan. I've always loved boating, biking and traveling. I was introduced to the Antrim Chain of Lakes many years ago & fell in love the first time I laid eyes on the amazing teal blue waters of Torch Lake and the miles of beautiful waterway's.
Scott purchased this cottage in 2012
Why Scott chose Torch Lake
We have been visiting the Torch Lake and Bellaire area for years and dreamt of some day owning a place on the chain of lakes. Nearly every time boating on the chain of lakes my we commented how nice and peaceful the rivers were & if we ever had a chance to buy in the area that would be ideal. In 2011 we were blessed with an opportunity to buy a little piece of paradise in what we feel is one of the most convenient & peaceful locations on the chain of lakes that is close to the sand bar but just far enough away that you're not disturbed by the noise of boats speeding around the lakes.
Although we'd like to spend everyday at the A-Frame we're happy to be able to share this little piece of paradise with others that want to live a little bit of the dream.
What makes this cottage unique
Its hard to find a nicer spot on the chain of lakes to enjoy some of the best boating and fishing the state has to offer. With Elk and Torch lake so close but away from the occasional rough waters that can develop it is a great location that touches on the best of everything the area has to offer. Being 5 minutes from the Torch Sand Bar and 20 miles from Traverse while feeling miles away from everything is hard to match. Having the ability to boat up to Dockside on the Clam River for lunch or cruise over to Elk Rapids for the afternoon is really nice. Just sitting back at the rivers edge watching the water flow by and boaters pass is a relaxing enjoyable experience.
