GREAT HOUSE OVERLOOKING THE SACRAMENTO RIVER AND PRIVATE DOCK

Isleton House Rental Photos and Description

Boat in or drive to 3 bedroom, 2 bath located on the Sacramento River

This newly renovated home is located on Long Island just off of Grand Island in the Sacramento River Delta. There are 3 queen bedrooms and 2 baths on two levels overlooking the river. In addition, there is a sleeper sofa for overflow for total sleeping space for 8. For the warm summer, an outdoor shower is privately located just under the main deck. Well behaved family pets are welcome, although the yard is not fenced. TV, satellite and wi-fi are available along with hundreds of VHS tapes and DVDs. The house has private docks both on the river and in back on the slough (or the dredge cut as it's known), so boat in or put the boat in the water at one of several nearby launch ramps. Fish off the docks or relax on the covered deck while watching the local skiers and fishermen work the water out front. Wood fire pit and comfortable outdoor furniture allows our guests to fully enjoy the weather at any time of year. There is an office set up in the lower bedroom, just in case you need to keep in touch while you're away.

Suitability:
  • non smoking only
  • Minimum Age Limit for Renters
  • pets considered
  • children welcome
  • wheelchair inaccessible

We bought this house as a fishing shack and to have a berth for our 32' Erickson sailboat and have remodeled extensively in the years since. In fact, we lived in this house while reworking the house next door --where we live today. We are boaters who enjoy all the Delta has to offer and this house puts you so close to the water, you'll never want to leave. At least that was our story and why we moved from Sacramento. We are also active private pilots and involved in Sacramento real estate.

Martha Pearson purchased this house in 1996

Life is just better on the water --and you can't get any closer than this. The view, the immediate access to the water activities we enjoyed were why we chose this place to call home. If you don't do anything but sit and enjoy the view of the river, you'll be entertained by the water skiers and island is qient and charming with really nice neighbors. This kitchen in this house is a dream and stocked well with good quality appliances, dishes and cookware. If you're looking to cook up a few fancy meals while you're with us and wonder about specific items, just ask and we'll see what we can do to accommodate. We always stock the basics but include coffee, tea, spices, foil and plastic wrap as well. There is usually something edible in the yard --the Delta is known for it's lush abundance, and this property is no exception. We encourage our guests to take advantage of what we grow which will obviously change with the seasons.

Being on the water with your own dock means that you can take a quick water ski run, or fish a little then relax a while only to do it again without the hassle of taking the boat in and out of the water. The Delta is beautiful and this location is convenient to the Grand Island Mansion and the Ryde Hotel, both wonderful wedding venues. Isleton is about two miles and Walnut Grove about 10 miles. Delta fishing is awesome and this is great water for skiing -- right out front. From either of the two decks overlooking the water, the line between inside and out is deliberately blurred so you're encouraged to spend the days with the doors wide open to the great Delta weather. For cooler months, there is a cozy gas fireplace and heated floors to make things comfortable.

Perfectly delightful 3 week stay

We have stayed at dozens of vacation rentals over the past 10 years and this home was the best in terms of comfort, design and amenities. It felt more like a luxury hotel than a vacation cottage. The owners, Martha and Robert, thought of everything we might need--and then some: Bathrooms with lots of plush towels, toiletries, make-up mirrors, hair dryers; Kitchen with all the staples, appliances and equipment; fully equipped laundry room; everything clean and fresh with no extra clutter! The design of the house was exceptional, open, with lots of light, and very livable. The owners were super friendly and helpful, and having them next door was a great help whenever we had a question. We were there in the winter, so didn't get out on the water, but sure enjoyed the peaceful setting. We'd love to go back when we can really enjoy the river.

My son's wedding

My son's wedding

Rented this great house for a week for my son's wedding at the Grand Mansion House. One of the few places that accepts pets - we brought along our 70lb German Shepherd. Would never know other dogs had ever been there. Greeted with a bottle of wine and a nice welcoming card upon our arrival. Although Martha lives next door we had total privacy. The wedding was awesome. Only downside was that my daughter and wife came down with the flu so we were unable to explore the area. Would definitely recommend this house to any family wanting to get away.

Our Thanksgiving week at Delta Riverhouse couldn't have been better. The house and property is beautiful, comfortable, and possibly the best vacation rental home we've ever booked, not to mention the gorgeous views of the wide and impressive Sacramento River. The owners are friendly and helpful . . . they live next door but were completely respectful of our privacy. Our family made many wonderful memories here and we look forward to coming back again and again. Thank you, Martha and Robert, for an unforgettable week!

Tranquil Nature Retreat

If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of your busy life and are looking for a retreat in Nature, this is the perfect place for you. Martha and Robert offer an incredibly beautiful house for travelers to stay right along the river. When you step inside the house, you feel immediately at home since everything is decorated with exquisite taste and is kept extremely clean and tidy as if someone was living there year round. The river is so close to the house that it looks as if it were part of the backyard. It is simply divine and very tranquil. We only had a short stay there (too short), but we absolutely loved every bit of it. Whether you are into fishing, exploring, bird watching, boating, or simply lazing around, it's all there. And if you are afraid of being cut out from the rest of the world, don't be, Wi-Fi, satellite TV and iHome stations are also part of the deal.
Simply amazing!

Great Place, Great owners, Great Weekend!!!!

If I can give this place more stars, I would. Stepping through the front door, seeing the kitchen, dining area, and living room bathed in natural sunlight, overlooking the delta, the first word that comes to mind is "WOW!" The bedrooms are cozy and the beds are very comfortable. The house is very clean and the owner provides everything needed which is helpful for the forgetful traveler. Another plus is the lack of mosquitoes even though it is located next to a body of water. This made fishing and hanging out on the balcony possible. As great as the house is, the owners are equally great if not greater. There was a bottle of red wine waiting for us, and we were later greeted by the owner. She and her husband are very nice and made us feel like family. They were very quick to respond to any issues we had. Overall, my title says it all. I'm already looking at future three day weekends to book this house again and to visit the owners. Thank you again for everything and the wonderful weekend.

Notes:
While the Delta is a relatively quiet and secluded area, this home is located in a neighborhood setting on a private island. There are approximately 30 homes, most of which are vacation homes. We strongly suggest all visitors bring appropriate life jackets and insist children wear them while outdoors. There is water everywhere and an accident due to inattention is a real risk.
