The Positives and Negatives

My husband, my daughter and I stayed at this VRBO on Saturday night and my husband stayed on Sunday night.
Regarding this rental:
Positives: Close to Lamar Blvd, downtown and freeways.
It is quiet and the neighborhood is quiet.
The bed was comfortable.
The rental had clean floors, surfaces, linen and windows.
We felt safe there.
Negatives: We found a container of food in the fridge and dishes in the dishwasher upon our arrival. The owner refused to waive our cleaning fee.
Check in/out instructions direct the renter to take out trash, take out recycling and strip bed of linens and still there is a cleaning fee.
The owner agreed to provide us with a set of extra linen for my daughter to sleep on the couch for Saturday night. She forgot but did have a relative bring some over at 930pm.
This is a 2 bedroom – 1 bath rental yet the 2nd bedroom has a desk and chaise lounge in it rather than a daybed or twin.
There is an odd smell about the rental.
The frying pans stick and the scissors are dull.
Check in is 4 pm, unless otherwise arranged and then the owner complains.
The rental requires a deposit.
I would recommend staying elsewhere and not VRBO 450977.

Thanks for taking the time to post a review. I thoroughly clean the apartment after every guest checks out in the morning, which takes several hours. In my rush to get the cleaning done in time for your early arrival, I did overlook the container in the fridge and the dishes in the dishwasher. I am so sorry and hope you were not too inconvenienced. Although our ad clearly states the unit accommodates 2 people, I was again happy to make an exception. I’m sorry I took longer than expected to deliver the extra sheets, but hope your daughter enjoyed her visit with you. Neither we nor any other guests have ever noticed any unusual smell in the apartment, but we will research any possible causes that occurred the weekend you were there. We’re glad to hear you otherwise enjoyed your stay.
