I am the owner / operator of two large group childcare centers in British Columbia, near Vancouver, and fell in love at first sight with this property a number of years ago. It has always been my dream to construct a modern beach cottage at this location, with all of the amenities required for a relaxing stay, and 'The Victoria' has fulfilled this dream.
Sharon & Mark purchased this house in 2010
Once you arrive and see the spectacular view and beach, you will understand why I fell in love with the location. After travelling around the entire island in search of the perfect location, with easy access to the beach (which is very hard to find), I came across this land in Cape Wolfe. Instead of purchasing just one parcel of it, I had to secure the entire site in order to protect the area from future development.
This property is truly a magical location, nestled next to the beach and sand dunes, and surrounded by the distant view of massive wind turbines. The beach is a gentle stroll through the sand dunes, and rarely is there anyone else there at any given moment.
Cape Wolfe has the most incredible sunsets over the ocean, and lobster boats are routinely just off shore during fishing season.
Home of the West Point Lighthouse, Cedar Dunes Provincial Park is a short 10 minute drive along the coast, where you can tour the huge lighthouse, play on the beach, or have dinner at Sandals restaurant at the harbour.
The busy area of Cavendish is only a little more than 1.2 hours away, but you can enjoy it, then leave it all behind and go back to your private beach.
The over 12 acres of grass around the cottage are there for you to enjoy any number of outdoor activities during your stay.
I am sure you will love the cottage, and especially the location!
This Cape Wolfe cottage deserves a five star rating. The cottage must have been professionally decorated. It is highly appealing to the eye. The kitchen is modern and fully functional. The open concept kitchen/living room is spacious and just perfect for entertaining. The view of the ocean from the main living area was spectacular. The
beds were very comfortable. You could hear the ocean waves from the master bedroom. The master bathroom had a large decadent shower that was a treat to step into. The washer and dryer came in handy. Walking on the gorgeous beach was such a treat. The cottage with ocean views were more than we had hoped for.
I can't even put into words how wonderful our stay was at the Victoria Beach House! Spectacular views, stunning sunsets and complete privacy. The house is just gorgeous, a modern and spotless haven set up on the hill just steps from the red sand beach. We were lucky enough to be there for the Honey Moon on Friday June 13th....it lit up the waters and was like something out of a movie! We were so pleased with our stay, already looking forward to our next visit! Thank you Mark and Sharon for sharing your amazing home! You have done an outstanding job on building the Victoria and your attention to detail for your guests' stay is superb. This is THE spot to stay!
My fiancee and I (with our Golden Retriever) spent Fourth of July week here and we could not have been happier with the property, the owners, or the area. The entire experience was simply wonderful. Looking forward to planning another trip to the house.
A private beach, peaceful and quiet surreal setting, yet the house offered luxury and modern amenities! This rental offers the best of both worlds. The house was clean and had everything we needed and the owners were responsive and helpful.
We can't wait to return!
My wife and I stayed at the "Victoria" for a week and loved every moment of it. The property and grounds were exactly as advertised. The cabin is well furnished and comfortable. Perfect size for 1-2 couples. The beach was beautiful and we even saw one of the three bald eagles who roam the area. We were so thankful that Elwood stopped by and helped us get Lobster, Quahog, Scallops, and Oysters. MMMmmm good. If you are looking for a remote hideaway, this is it! Still close enough to pick up supplies and tour the west coast of PEI. We had a relaxing and wonderful time!
The house is a restful spot on the beach, with soothing waves lulling you to sleep. I enjoyed being able to watch the sun set over the ocean, from the comfort of the living room. The mosquitoes were a bit fierce, and it was divine to be able to see the ocean and sky without being bitten.
The house looks exactly as pictured. Very comfortable. If you are looking to get away from it all, this is the place for you.
I was surprised to find that PEI is so large, and if you are interested in exploring the east side of the Island, I would recommend that you find accommodations on that side as well. But when exploring the west side of the island, there is nowhere else I would rather stay then this lovely house. The owners were wonderful, they had a local person from the area stop by. He gave us wonderful advice on where to get fresh seafood, and different things to do in the area.
Located less than 10 minutes from the world famous West Point Lighthouse.
Enjoy the peaceful view of over a dozen wind turbines surrounding the cottage property in the far distance, from the West Cape Wind Farm.
The cottage is located on the extremely scenic RT 14 Coastal Drive, which stretches from the West Point Lighthouse in the south, to the North Cape Wind Farm Facility to the north.
