About Leah and Ryan

Hi there it's Leah and Ryan, proud owners of Funtierland Vacation Rentals! My husband and I are true Southern California locals, born and raised just a stones throw from Disneyland where we've visited since before we could walk (or talk). In fact, I worked at Disneyland through high school and part of college as an Attraction's Hostess on rides like Indiana Jones! Given our deep local roots, Ryan and I embarked on a journey to help spread the magic our hometown offers by curating a portfolio of fun, relevant vacation rental properties, and offering them to guests from across the country and around the world :)

My husband and I spent over a year looking for just the right property, in the perfect location, that we knew our guests would fall in love with. It took some struggles to land this gem but as soon as it was ours we spent over two months remodeling and redecorating the entire townhouse. We couldn't be happier and we hope you agree!

Lovely townhome, nice location close to Disney

This is a lovely townhome, neat, well decorated and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. It is a very close walk to the Disney tram. Great set up for large families, even though it was only us and our two children.
Positives
+Spacious home
+Clean and orderly (some staining on furniture and rugs, but to be expected with foot traffic)
+Convenient location, nice to have garage available
+Extras were great, two seat stroller, high chair, cool little shades for kids, night lights, lovely bottle of wine and spaghetti, even though we didn't use it, great touch.

Negatives
-Rules, rules, rules. Got tons of contract items, several reminders about parking and the pool, a bit over the top, and although it might be necessary for dense travelers, made us long for the ease of a nice hotel
-Had to provide all names of travels weeks ahead, and less flexible to change
-Despite all the rules (don't leave garage door open, be quiet after X time) neighbors were breaking the rules left and right :(, not very friendly community, poor experience at pool
-Back sliding door is broken, and hasn't been fixed, for apparently long enough to add it to their book of things to know. Reason, no unbooked time to get it done. My opinion, block out the time and get it done, it seems pretty straightforward.
-Nursery is a converted closet, poor ventilation so you need to leave the door open

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We’d like to clarify any misconceptions for future guests:
1. We go to great lengths to be completely transparent and to set accurate expectations for our guests. 99.9% of our guests appreciate this approach as it provides them the information they need to make informed decisions about which property best suits their needs, and more importantly how to maximize their enjoyment during their stay. We sincerely apologize if our guest documents and/or any friendly reminders we provide, as a courtesy seem over the top. Please understand we host guests from all over the world, all with different needs, and none of whom are dense. It would be foolish for us to assume our world traveling guests know everything about a home they've never been to, or the community rules in which it resides. Yes, we provide rules about parking so guests don't get towed, occupancy limits at the pool to ensure we comply with city fire code requirements, suggest that guests close the attached garage door for privacy and safety, advise that our city has short term rental rules for "quiet time" during the evenings, etc. We would be doing a major disservice to our guests, and ourselves, if we left these important details out in fear of appearing overly restrictive.
2. Our pricing, as clearly stated in our listing, is in part based on guest count. It's very easy to add guests however it can increase the pricing and we ask guests respect our policies at any point during a reservation or change thereto.
3. The sliding glass door is not broken and functions properly. It just so happens to have a keyed lock on the exterior side, of which we do not provide the key because as we've learned, it is small, frequently lost, and logistically unnecessary. As is the case with most standard sliders, guests will simply need to lock the door from the inside and head out the front door when exiting the property. In hindsight, it was unnecessary to disclose this information about the functionality of the door in the first place.
4. Given that this home is now a full time vacation rental, the "closet" space has become a natural extension to the master bedroom for a private nursery. As for ventilation, the nursery is no different than any room in a home that lacks exterior windows.

Convenient, kid friendly, super clean townhome

What a lovely time our family had at your vacation home. The photos do not show all the great decoration details that you have. Loved the silhouettes of the Disney pairs in the Master bedroom and the Pluto hooks in the downstairs powder room to name a few. Your details on the practical side were also appreciated. The pasta, sauce and wine were enjoyed after a fun packed day at Disneyland. We made good use of the double stroller(two other single strollers were also available)for our two granddaughters, age 6 and 2. It was wonderful to walk to Disneyland everyday, which also saved on parking fees. If you didn't want to stay for the fireworks at 9:30, we could watch them from behind the house. What a kid friendly place, from the stools in each bathroom so little legs could reach the sinks to the trundle bed with the bunk for children who were not quite crib sized anymore but also not quite ready for a big girl bed. The girls loved the kiddie pool and providing beach towels was another great touch, saving on space for those of us who travelled by air. I could go on and on. Thank you for all the thought that you placed into your lovely, super clean townhome. We would certainly love to rent it in any future trips to Disneyland. Leah was extremely responsive and highly professional in all of our interactions.

Great stay

This was a great place. Crash while we spent 3 full days at the Dinsey parks. It was about a 10-minute walk to the trams, nice and quiet, easy to get to.

The place was very nice. Lots of room, nice amenities, and better than we expected. Thanks!

Family of Five

We couldn't have been more happy with our stay at Funtierland 1. The condo is spacious, lovely, clean, and a perfect location for Disneyland. We walked with an 8, 6, and 3 year old to and from the park four different days, and the kids did great. We took the monorail into Disneyland one day, but otherwise walked to the park gates. We also enjoyed our time at the pool in the complex and really appreciated having beach towels provided, along with everything we needed for a day at the beach. I am a pretty picky traveler, and I would easily stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

Perfect Rental for Disneyland

This condo was an easy walk to Disneyland. We took the parking lot tram most days to save our walking for the park. The tram takes about 8 minutes to get to by foot and the park is just over 15. We came home for lunch every day so my 2 year old could nap. This saved us from any possible melt downs and recharged us for our evenings at the park. My parents, husband and son had plenty of room in this condo. The grill, umbrellas, strollers and beach towels/gear all came in handy. We were thankful the owners thought of these details. Since I knew all these items would be at the condo it meant less we had to pack in the car for the vacation. The pictures of the condo are accurate and I could not have been more pleased with this rental!!!
