Just 25 miles from the northern entrance into Yosemite National Park, you will find yourself in a fully furnished home that is the perfect get away. It has an unobstructed view of a lovely 100 acre meadow and is in Stanislaus National forest. If you are looking for solitude, sunshiny days and starlet nights in the pines then you will love this home. At 3200 feet we’re just above the snow mark but below the blizzard line. We’re just ½ mile from the nearest grocery store or gas station and 10 minutes (8 miles) from Highway 120.
Our vacation property can accommodate 6+ comfortably. It has three bedrooms; master bedroom has a king size adjustable bed and a private full-bath. The two smaller bedrooms have queen beds and share a full-bath. Children or adventurous at heart could sleep on queen size air beds in a nicely finished garage area in the summer. (see pictures)
There is easy access to the house through the garage and front door. There is a deck across the back of the house and the setting is very private. There is access to internet and it has dish TV.
The large kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs and has granite throughout. It includes a large Island for cooking or eating. There is a gas BBQ grill in the back yard.
The hot tub is fabulous for relaxing anytime but especially under the stars at night. It has therapy jets for those tired muscles after a long day of sightseeing or hiking.
Lori and I met while we were young and only 17 while attending college up in Idaho. Doug retired and we purchased this home in 2012 as our vacation dream home. We love it so much that we enjoy staying here whenever we can. The mountains are beautiful and it is very peaceful here. Lori and I have 5 children and 18 grand children with one on the way. We enjoy camping, traveling, but mostly just doing work around our homes.
and visiting with friends.
Doug Dalton purchased this house in 2012
We chose this property because we enjoy mountain living without the hustle and bustle of resort areas. Little traffic and yet close to Yosemite and wonderful hiking adventures.
Very quiet, small town, enjoy the stars-Yosemite and nearby historic towns.
What an excellent home for our Yosemite adventure. We had a group of 6 staying at MME and everyone loved the home. We did not encounter one issue or concern in our 3 days there. The owner was gracious and polite and a pleasure to speak with. This home has ample room to roam and explore if you have little one's. We played horse shoes, ladder ball and field bocce in the expansive front yard. Deer were right out front the 1st morning, so close it was like you could touch them. The hot tub was in excellent shape as was any item we may have needed for our trip. I personally noted all of the little detail that the owner has put into setting the house up. The garage is set up to open and allow access to the yard and hot tub with chairs and carpet. I would highly recommend this home to my family or friends for their Yosemite visit. We were so impressed we invited our friends staying in Mariposa to come see MME and they loved it. We did a BBQ with games and finished with a fire in the outside pit under the stars. Peaceful and Perfect, what an excellent adventure our best group get away of the year. A sincere thanks to the owner for the use of this awesome home.
It was a nice experience. The house was clean, comfortable and location was nice and peaceful. The hot tub was very helpful after a day in Yosemite. The general store was helpful by being down the street but they do close at 6:55 sharp.
Overall we had a lot of fun and relaxing time.
The owners of this beautiful vacation home could not have been more helpful with the planning of our trip to Yosemite. We were only able to stay a couple of nights, but this house was perfect. It was reasonably priced, clean, and well appointed with nice furniture, beautiful interior, and a location that was within easy driving distance from the park (40 miles or so from the valley). The house is located in a country setting just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Yosemite. We spent the day in the park, but returned in the evening for the relaxation of this home away from home. The house has a large screen tv, computer, wifi, hot tub, fire pit, and games for families to play, if you have the energy after a day at the park. We crashed in the comfortable Tempurpedic bed, and woke up rested for a new day of fun.
Try to check in before by 7:30 pm, because the store just down the road closes early, and if you're like us, you'll need some snacks, food, and supplies upon arrival. The store has everything you'll need, and there's a diner nearby in case you need a close by place to eat.
In summary, we're used to staying in nice places, and this house for sure did not disappoint.
Wonderful place to stay! Spent four nights as we made trips to Yosemite (about 40 miles depending on where you're going in the park; further if you're going across the Tioga pass to attractions like the Bodie ghost town). House was modern, very clean and comfortable. Best master bed we've ever slept on. We used the clean propane grill for meals almost every night. Didn't try the hot tub, but it looked inviting. Doug was great in trying to accommodate some of our special needs (allergies).
We loved this place. It's clean, well maintained and close to nature. The owners are super awesome, they provided all the necessities. I would really recommend this place
We really enjoyed our stay since the house was exremley comfortable equipped with everything. It felt as though we were in our home.
There was satelite TV, Vifi many games to enjoy and the luxurious jacuzzi.
