This is a great log cabin, inside and out. We wanted something rustic and it was decorated and outfitted just as you'd expect a log cabin to be. We were also very happy to deal personally with the owners and not an agent. We loved the quiet--no one else was around in the cabins nearby, the bed was very comfortable, the kitchen could possibly use a few new pans, but otherwise took care of our needs. We loved the fireplace/gas heater which kept us warm--just wished for more flamelike appearance for ambiance. We had a couple of problems with getting in and the DVD player, but found the owner's mother at the PO and the family was very accommodating and helpful--got us in, got help with the DVD player, but it still stopped partway through 3 different movies we tried to watch, so we feel it is the machine and not the discs. Just a 'unique' way of getting us to play games and read more and get outdoors more. Our trip to Yellowstone for the day was great, so location of cabin is good. We do hope to return to this cabin again. We loved our little log cabin experience.
We really enjoyed our stay while visiting Yellowstone. The cabin was nicely decorated and fully furnished with everything to make our stay comfortable. We would definitely stay again if we return to the area.
Great place for 2 people - perfect for my husband and myself - located in Island park near Mack's Inn - 25 min. to west entrance of Yellowstone Nat'l Park - 10 minutes or less to excellent flyfishing. Washer/dryer is a plus.
Capable of sleeping 6 but bathroom is very small- ok for a family but not to share with another couple - too bad because it is in a great location, owners are helpful and we would love to bring friends next year except for the bathroom situation.
Nice and very clean cabin in Bear Country in the middle of the woods (seems like that). Very quiet nature. We enjoyed the cabin very much, everything was clean and seemed to be remodeled!
We liked the beds on the upper floor very much.
BBQ worked well, also the other equipment. Only little complaints are that there could be a bit more basic things in the house like toilet paper or cooking oil. We were on a road trip and lived in hotels the other nights so we didn´t have things like that with us and had to buy all the stuff just for three days (good for the next guests). You should also know, that there is no WIFI or internet connection in the house.
We recommend for dinner the Island Park Restaurant and you should definitely do a kayak tour on the Henry´s Fork of the Snake River - that´s awesome in the morning or the evening!
Driving time to Yellowstone Nationalpark entrance is about 30 minutes. If we would come back to visit the park again we would definitely book again with you! Thanks for all and greets from Germany!
Our family stayed at this cabin in Island Park. It was very nice, and had all the amenities. It was clean and well-maintained, and conveniently located. I highly recommend this property. We enjoyed floating down the river at Mack's Inn. It is 20 miles from West Yellowstone, and close to the main highway, yet feels like it is in the middle of the woods. We also enjoyed going up to Big Springs where the river originates. The owners were very helpful in answering our questions, and the rental process was very smooth. When we walked in the front door for the first time, our young grandson exclaimed, "This is the best place ever!" It was very comfortable and a great value for the rental price.
We had a great time! We spent most of the time snowmobiling but the cabin was a great place to return for a relaxing time. We had a family of five and it was more then enough room. We will see you next year.
