Parkside House Rental Photos and Description
2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath with Garden Views near Beach (Sleeps 4-7)
The house gets amazing light throughout and was remodeled a few years ago, but still retains its charm. It has a very mid-century nautical theme.
It’s near the expansive Ocean Beach in San Francisco with two bedrooms, along with a kitchen and private bathroom. You'll also have a living room and dining room. There's also a little bar if you'd like to pour yourself a drink. This is a private listing, so you will be the only guests in the apartment.
There's plenty of light and it's just far away from the beach that its not too chilly -- and downtown by car is still an easy 20 minute drive. It's perfect for someone who is visiting and wants to spend time at Ocean Beach, surfing or strolling for sand dollars -- or is stopping through on a drive down the coast as the house is a 1 minute drive from the Great Highway. It's perfect for two couples or two friends that need a place a little more relaxed or a larger group who wants to utilize the air mattress/sofa.
PARKING: There is free, unregulated and ample street parking outside if you decide to bring a vehicle. Space is easily found find throughout the day. After the evening hours, parking on the next block may be necessary. Please discuss with host if you need further parking accommodations.
It's a much more quiet neighborhood than the Mission District. And the place is one block from the L line so town is about 25 minutes away. There are bus stops within one block as well that will take you to Golden Gate Park and the beach if you decided not to bring a vehicle.
One block south is Taraval. Heading a block west, towards the water, there are a few restaurants, a bakery where you can get coffee and Chinese pastries, a liquor store, and a Walgreen's pharmacy.
There are two bedrooms in the back of the house (so there is no street-noise at night). They both overlook the landscaped backyard that is part of a separate unit.
The master bedroom has an ultra-comfortable organic Keetsa king-sized bed, a beautiful mid-century dresser, a full closet, great light, window pull-shades, garden views (note:there is not direct access to the backyard but the 7 mile long beach is a short walk away), a cozy rug, a large photo of stars streaking across a desert sky and a painting of surfers in Hawaii.
-The other bedroom has a queen bed, with a large desk, ergonomic task chair and task lamp -- great light, a full closet, blackout shades and garden views (see note above).
THE REST OF THE HOUSE:
The galley kitchen has plenty of dishes and you're welcome to use any cooking essentials in the cupboards and fridge. There's also a full-size oven and stove.
Off the kitchen is a breakfast nook with a microwave, table and lots of beer and wine if you'd like to have them.
The bathroom has pink wall tiles and hexagon floor tiles, a separate shower, vanity, and full bath. Both the kitchen and bath have skylights as well.
The living room includes a vintage flight recliner and a midcentury couch. There's a full wall shelf that hides lots of treasures. (cards, games, small toys, lots of books). The couch is comfortable to sleep on and sheets are provided if you would like to use it to do so. I also have an air mattress that fits 2 people and is available for you to use.
There's a small patio in the center of the house that provides additional light to all the rooms and is accessible through the living room. (but please keep any smoking in the front of the house.)
The house has central heating -- controllable through a Nest thermostat in the living room. Feel free to adjust this as needed.
There's also a couch to sleep on in the living room, and sheets that fit for that, as well as a queen air mattress if you want to get cozy. Otherwise, there are bedrooms for two couples as a standard fit (four people).
There is a washer and dryer on the premises that we can arrange for you to use during longer visits (1wk+).
Well behaved dogs under 45 lbs considered for an additional $10 per night.
Please let me know if you have any questions about the place and the location. Please send me an inquiry about yourself before, booking as well, so I can let you know if friends are staying in town or if the house is free.
Thank you for reading my listing!

Hello! My name is Brian -- I'm a tech-writer turned ocean journalist who moved to SF about ten years ago. I grew up in New Jersey and Hong Kong and went to college in Boston. I just moved to Hawaii to pursue my love of warm water, surfing, fishing and ocean exploration. My close friend, Mollie, lives downstairs and handles my bookings/manages my house while I'm away, so you'll probably hear from her!
San Francisco is arguably one of the most beautiful cities in the world -- hilly streets, expansive views, lush parks, beautiful bridges, food, people -- and surrounded by water. I moved near the expansive ocean beach to be close to surfing and I love being able to walk to the beach (or drive for one minute).
This house offered a lot of charm, space and light and made me instantly comfortable. Visitors don't usually mind spending long hours here -- it's a really pleasant house, whether its sunny or foggy outside.
